Good Anchor For Canoe

It does the job ok. Doesn't lock open or closed securely if that matters to you...

Ideal For Kayak Fishing

I use it when fishing on my kayak. It has good grip and doesn’t let me drift off. I tied about 40’ of paracord to it and I have been in water as deep as 35’. No issues, no drifting.

Not Happy

I bought this for my 12 ft 80 lb. kayak. The sales associate was very knowledgeable about where I fish, and recommended this size because he said the smaller lighter one would not work. He was correct. Even the bigger 13 lb one wouldn't get a grip in the mud in Matagorda bay. I would have given the product a higher score, but the 2nd time I pulled it in the pin came out and it fell apart. I'll be returning it. I bought a claw (one piece) anchor and it works much better

Perfect Kayak Anchor

Must have for fishing. The 3lb is just right size, use 20' line, attach small stainless safety hook at line end and clip to Kayak (in case you tip when not using or line loosens from cleat while fishing) but use cleat on Kayak when anchored.

Better Than Expected

I bought this anchor not expecting too much from it and on first glance I wasn't particularly impressed: the flanges don't always fold up neatly so sometimes the locking mechanism was hard to engage. However, the anchor performed far better than I expected. My boyfriend and I each had one attached to our kayaks (14' plastic recs) in the Charles River on a very windy night. Not only did they hold us with no discernible drift for more than three hours, they also held a couple of other kayakers who tied up to our boats. They both came out cleanly when we were ready to leave. For an inexpensive anchor, it far outperformed my expectations. I highly recommend this.
