Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Life Saver This was a last minute purchase as I was on my way to a canoeing trip with my son. This was our first time on the water, though we have been in the outdoors many times. The lanyards paid for themselves as we would have each lost our paddles at least once on a particularly rough stretch of rapids. The rental company rep comment on the lanyards when we put ashore and said that a lost paddle would have be a $14 charge. Others in the group did lose paddles. I liked the secure velcro closure and the length and flexibility of the spaghetti cord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kayak tether Tether is effective in retaining kayak paddle, easily put on Kayak and clipped to a point on the kayak. The length is right and the coiled part is flexible enough that it gives plenty of range for any activity with the paddle. Much better than tying a string on the paddle. And my advice is NEVER go kayaking without a paddle leash. The other advantage is that you can just throw your paddle in the water (in still water) and let it float alongside when not using it, you don't have to hold it or clip it on the kayak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every Kayaker should have a leash on their kayak or canoe paddle So many times a kayak or canoe can tip over. It is easier to get the kayak back but the paddle can very easily float out of reach and downstream. A paddle leash solves the problem of a kayak with no way to get anywhere because of a lost paddle. We travel in a good size group so someone has always caught the paddle floating but at some point this might not happen. Luck can run out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from this product is very useful and does its job well. this product is a must have for new and even experienced kayakers. it costs very little and is very sturdy. its very useful in securing your paddle to either you or your kayak and very easy to manage. my leash has saved me from having to jump into the water to save my paddle several times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YOU NEED THIS, you just don't know it yet!!! Such a small thing... but if you have ever dropped your paddle whiule fighting a fish, then you will wisah you had one of these to keep your paddle close to you.... unless you like to dog paddle your kayak with your hands in order to chase down your paddle while it floats away ?!?!?!?!?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from i bought a set for 2 friends i use this product to secure my paddle to my wrist while kyaking. The velcro holds fine to the rist. Coiled cord could be justb a bit longer. The only way to attach it to the paddle is to clip it to itself once wrapped arouind. seems there should be a better way like velcro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must Everyone should have a harness for their paddle. When I hook a fish and need to net it, it helps to sometimes throw the paddle out of the Kayak, for more room. Just think about the paddle floating away when your focused on landing a fish and having to swim to it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Paddle Leash I added a carbiner to the paddle leash and it works great. I mounted a cabinet pull under the deck of my kayak. The carbiner clips onto the cabinet pull for securing to the kayak. Leash works as expected and light enough that isn't noticeable.
