I would prefer the velcro/zipper be in the back. The velcro strip catches sticks and dirt and starts to open up. The straps and buckle going under the boot could be more substantial.

Good Gaiters For Snow Shoeing
I bought these and used them 1 time for snow shoeing in 10 inch snow. My pants, socks and hiking boots remained dry. I have a 9 shoe size and the L/XL is a little too big.

Gaiters
Went to store when website said they had some in stock. People in store didn't know where they were located in the place. Computer said yes they had them but no one knew where. Personnel need better training on locations. What aisle, row, stand.....wasted time going here instead of bass pro shops. They have them and knew right where they were.

Tight Fit
I bought two pairs of these and returned one of them. My son could fit into them but mine were largest size offered and I couldn't get them completely around my everyday pants with just socks on. There's no way they will fit with bulky winter pants and winter boots. For me the purchase was a complete joke. I'm very disappointed in the purchase. I'd recommend investing in a different brand that has man-size sizes available.

Terrible Fasteners
Good quality material but HORRIBLE strap-fasteners that pop open & release strap WAY too easily! Really wish they would've spent, what, 5 more cents per fastener. Also, it's quite difficult to button a metal button when both sides are anchored in the middle of velcro. These buttons seem unnecessarily small; too hard to line up & snap together, especially under tension. Lastly, I dont understand how the middle, tensioning strap is supposed to be useful. Strap is permanently anchored on one side and velcros on the other end. There is an adjustable buckle in the middle but, if you use it to cinch the end closer together the loose slack is BETWEEN the two anchored ends. I had to tie the strap in a knot to shorten strap create permanent tension. I still recommend product because u can go to Dick's and buy it (don't have to wait for shipping). Just know you are going to have to tape the "Quick Cinch Closures" shut if you want them to hold.
