The Z-Man® RaZor ShadZ Jerkbait features a segmented, fish-shaped body and forked tail that produces lifelike movement. This floating and diving soft plastic lure floats on the surface at rest, but the sloped head makes the bait dive in a twitching manor to create a one of a kind action. Create erratic darting motions to target bass and redfish with the RaZor ShadZ from Z-Man.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read the other reviews with caution! These have a specific use. These are primarily intended as a chatterbait/bladed jig trailer. They are SUPPOSED to have subtle action that works well with a bladed jig: they have the right shape to create a baitfish profile and the tail jerks back and forth in sync with the jig vibrations. Some of the other reviewers might not have understood that. These may not work very well as a jerkbait or swimbait on the end of a jighead (not saying they won't -- they just might for you). The main competitor is the Yamamoto Zako - a bait that just kills bass on the bladed jig, but the RaZor ShadZ have the advantage of awesome durability. Z man's elaztec plastic is super durable but cannot be stored directly adjacent to other plastics including other lures or certain plastic tackle boxes. It will definitely cause melting. Consider Z man soft plastics for what they are: durable, cost-effective, reliable bass killers; you have to accept they have to be put back in their own bag or separately in a Plano box.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from eh when i got these i took them out of the package and i put them with my other minnow immatations and a day later i had a problem. i dont know what they use but it messes with the other plastics and ruins them. also if in the sun for any time they will melt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting lure made of an interesting material I know they call it a "jerkbait", but I actually buy these to use as a trailer on my bladed jigs,(example, Z Man's Chatterbait lines, also available at DSG), spinner baits, and swim jigs as they are just as good as a swim bait. Interestingly when rigged on a jig of any type, with the proper line/jig weight ratio (experiment on your own), they will turn 90 degrees left or when lightly twitched during the retrieve, which can trigger a strike from any reluctantly following predator fish. I would try to fish them like traditional soft plastic jerkbaits, because the Elaztec material that they made of is almost indestructible, yet it is so light weight that it actually floats, so therefore it takes more weight to get them to the proper depth I need to work them at and I would have to work them faster than I want, even though that would make them easier to cast. But fishing them weightless (as I like to do with traditional Plastisol baits) is almost (but I have heard that some somehow do) pointless as the articulated joints and tail won't submerge enough to properly work the tail and as they do not have enough mass weight to properly load even the lightest action spinning rod. However as an above mentioned trailor, they are awesome, especially for summertime through early fall when fishing fast is the way to go for bass here in the north(east). I do however wish that Z Man could add a bit more meat to the edge of the tail as it really does take quite some speed to get it to shimmy or sway properly. Also, most types of plastic keepers, be it on a plain hook or lure, just will not hold Elaztec products well enough to survive casting/water entry, so some type of waterproof glue is highly recommended.
