Great Classic Real

I purchased a Zebco 203 rod/reel combo (from another store) for my grandson and the real was awful. Slow and cheaply made. The rod though was just the right size for him so I upgraded the reel. Feels just right now and like all other Zebco 33s, will be with him until he’s my age!

Not Worth A Chance!

Bought this reel yesterday to replace a reel on my ultralight rod. Pressing the thumb release would not release the line. I removed the cap to see if I could find out what was causing the problem. The line appeared to not be completely wound on the spool with some of it being wound on the mechanism between the spool and the adjacent part. I couldn't take itany further part to fix it. Very frustrating. Now I have to see about returning it.

Worked Great, Small And Lightweight

I bought it to go on a cheap rod for one of the kids. It worked great and had no issues, unlike some of the open, more expensive reels we used.

Great For Smaller Fish

I bough this to replace an old Diawa I had of the same nature. The Diawa lasted me over 30 years so I am curious what this can do. I wouldn't expect to be able to pull anything big with this but that's not really what its made for. Hoping to use it more for small brooks and trout fishing. So far its work flawlessly on 4 trips

Good Panfishing Reel

I bought this reel, specifically, for an ultralight reel to fish small jigs and topwater plugs for panfish. Didn’t want to spend a fortune, as, I already have a dozen rods and reels and this is just for little local ponds here in Florida. For the money, it’s a great little reel - great for panfish

Nice Reel But...

Bought this to replace an older reel so I already had a rod. So it seems they have redesigned the reel mount which is beefier now and would not fit on my older rod without me having to make a modification. Two wire ties and a nut and bolt in place of the existing screw on my rod. I was in a hardware store the other day and saw another man in there with his rod. Same reel, same problem. So maybe buy it as a combo......

Save Your Money!

Just purchased this reel in the last 3 weeks for my wife. The reel fell apart after the 3rd day of fishing. Fortunately I had a backup reel which kind of worked.

Great Reel

I have only been able to go fishing twice since purchasing this reel. I put it on my teenage daughter's rod the first time and then fixed the reel that was on her rod for the next time. After the second trip, I had to switch back to the Zebco. It cast very smoothly and far, plus she had no problem reeling the fish either. Great reel, I just bought another Zebco.
