Got this rod on sale around Christmas. Have been fishing with it a number times and think it's great. Ordered it online and it was shipped directly from Lew's perfectly wrapped. Caught a number of small bass but some medium sized ones but also a monster that had to weigh more than 8 lbs. It has handled everything perfectly and the rod is still perfectly straight. The only down side I have to the rod is the bait holder hook on the rod is right under your hand, which is a terrible spot if using treble hooks, or any hooks for that matter. This review updates a one month prior entry. Now that I 've fished it a bit more, AWESOME rod. I 've just bought a second. Originally for panfish and trout, it's become my favorite for accurate presentations wading bulrush shorelines for bass on inland and Great Lakes. Fast action to telegraph every bit of the action, with enough spine to steer the big guys away from trouble. Paired with a Pflueger President 20 or 25 reel, the combo is light, comfortable, and tough enough to fish all day. I run 4# Sufix with an 18 '' Vanish Fluoro leader on Carolina or Neko rigs. Precise casting, and even with this light tackle, have n't felt undergunned on big Largemouths or Smallmouths. It's just a blast to take 'em on with this rod.

Bought this 7' one piece medium action/fast rod as an upgrade for panfish and trout. In the last 3 weeks, I 've taken 11 nice 2 plus lb bass along with plenty of large panfish. Very sensitive for finesse presentations, and the fast action means fun battles with plenty of spine when needed to keep the big guys from brush piles. I 've paired with a Pflueger President size 20 reel and Berkley Sufix or Trilene XT 4 lb line with a 6# Flourocarbon leader. Casting is wonderful, controlled, predictable and accurate with the lighter line and rigs near the 1/8 minimum for this rod. Only takeaway is the reel mount, which places your fingers on the base of the spinning reel with no cork or EVA under. Gets a bit uncomfortable after a few hours compared to my Berkley or Fenwick predecessors, and just would be unbearable for cold temperature Spring or late Fall fishing.

I bought this thing last summer and its one of my favorites! Durable as hell. Its probably more of a Medium light rod to be honest but its my go to for finesse techniques like drop shot or tubes on the river. I will say tho i have used swim jigs with this thing and it was able to get a perfect hook set. Too light for any chatterbait tho. I 've had this for over 3 months now, bought this for myself as I wanted something moderate price, getting back into fishing after about 15 years. Used it over a dozen times already and its just a good feeling reel and rod. Reel is smooth and the rod has some sensitivity to it and a little bit of backbone, which is great. I use 10 lbs fluoro and have had no trouble with the line slipping the spool or reeling in fish. Bought this rod about 2 months ago and have been pretty happy with it since then. Managed to catch quite a few fish on it including a 30 '' pike and some massive hybrid bass. It says it is a fast tip but it certainly is n't as fast as others I have used. Great for treble hook baits as well as texas rig stuff. The only bad part about the rod is that somehow, one of my guide inserts seems to have fallen out and I did n't keep my receipt!

I bought this rod last week and have went fishing with it 5 times already. I go fishing for about 3- 4 hours at a time, which gave me enough time to get a good feel for this rod. On the website it says that it is `` Fast, '' but in the store, they only carry Moderate Fast, which I had no problem with; I actually prefer moderate fast. Now, throughout my time fishing with this, I can say I love this rod. It is absolutely fantastic and SUPER sensitive. I was feeling every stick, rock, fish, etc. that my bait was hitting. This rod allows me to cast very accurately and I have seen an increase on my casting distance, as well. The website for Dick's and Lew's specified that this is a saltwater rod when in reality it really does n't matter. The only difference is that this has stainless steel eyelets, which are really great because they will not rust. I main bass fishing and needed a good rod that was super sensitive and all I can say this rod exceeded my expectations. Also, I can assure you it is durable because I got stuck in a couple of bushes and bent the crap out of the rod to see how durable it was- it held up very very nicely. Along with that, I caught a 9lbs bass that put up a really good fight. I highly recommend this rod to anyone who is pretty serious about fishing. I absolutely love this rod!

The rod is very comfortable in hand and I even caught an 8 pound bass on it and it handled great, only thing is the price should be higher

The reel was very cool and good at casting I could cast this thing like a country mile it is amazing as the person said that guy just doesn ’ t know how to cast it and overall great bang for your buck.

the one other review is untrue, my first bass was my pb a 10lb hawg and the rod held up just fine. the sensitivity is great and the colors are super clean, and the baitcaster works perfectly fine it ’s just the guy in the other review probably doesn ’ t know how to use one. great product, good durability, and great baitcaster
