Seems to have some reinforced elastic to prevent this. Since this was a men's singlet I wore a compression like shirt underneath for additional coverage in the chest area with no issues. This is advertised as a men's singlet but worked for me. I even had several compliments from guys. lol! I will say that I have a long torso so there was a little pull in shoulder to waist area but did n't bother me. It's possible a medium would fair better.
