This tent has been a companion through multiple thru- hikes, and it has held up so well I 'm almost wondering if it will last me forever! I broke a pole once but I was able to send it in ane got it repaired in time to keep backpacking.

5 Deaner
TLDR: If you 're deciding between the 1P and 2P, just get the 2P. Excellent stealth tent. I got the 2 person version for solo bikepacking and it was a winner. It really does n't take up that much more space than the 1P and it allowed me to keep all my gear inside and dry. Fast forward and I find someone to bikepack with me(!)- we both fit perfectly with room for the essentials at the foot. It's vertically spacious enough that you can sit upright and the front opening if super convenient. There is an upside to the neutral colour of the tent in that it makes it easier to stealth camp. The downside is that we almost got smushed by a truck that did n't see us( in what we thought was a secluded spot). If you 're worried about visibility, I would drape a bright reflective towel or jacket over the tent. Otherwise it's perfect. Also do n't overload the top pocket- for essentials only.

5 Alex G
This is my first ultra light tent for bike packing. My girlfriend and I have bought this tent especially for bikepacking trips in quebec. In 2022 I have traveled at least 2000 km with this tent on my bike. I have slept in this tent alone or with my girlfriend 15 times this summer. We are very please with the performance of this product. In the pas years we use to spend a lot of money on airbnd and motels during our bikepacking trip so we are very please with the flexibility and the economy this product has given to us. In fact the tent has paid itself in one summer of use.

5 Jonathon
Fantastic tent. I love how easy it is to use. I was particularly pleased that I could quickly roll it up and stuff it in the pack with no trouble at all. The materials feel really high quality and it is obviously excellent craftsmanship.

4 Island Time
Overall, I like the tent. It's lightweight, quick and easy to set up, and equally easy to pack away. I 'm 5' 9 '' and weigh 210. There is plenty of room inside for myself and some gear. Most of the gear stays in the vestibule. The internal pockets are great and help keep things like a headlamp from being lost in the clutter of the tent. Big Agnes needs to address two downsides. The first, which should be easily remedied, is the fly zippers are finicky, especially when the fly is wet. It makes matters worse that both zipper pulls are identical, so I invariably pull the wrong one in the dark when getting up to pee. The second problem, which wo n't be as easy to remedy, is that strong winds flatten the tent, even with all the guylines set and taught. Thankfully, this happened in Florida, so I ditched the fly, and the wind blew through the netting, leaving the tent upright.

[ I love my 4 person tent, it fits a twin and a queen size air up mattress, it ’s perfect for a small family and I also love that it has a mat for the outside, it came with a dome cover, the bag and it has inside storage space.

5 Spankthellama
[ We go camping alot and always wake up with the sun blaring into the tent, with this we do n't have that problem. It keeps the sun out and the perfect temperature inside. It's very durable and easy to set up. It took me maybe 4 minutes to put it all together. It also keeps the rain out I have n't seen nor noticed any wet spots. It fit all 4 of us( 2 adults and 2 toddlers) perfectly with enough room for our bags. I recommend this product to anyone and everyone whos looking for a good reliable tent!

5 Cbeasley3269
[ We had an outside camp out with the kids in the woods behind the house and they loved it and so did we it was easy to assemble the bag it was in made it seem so light to carry the instructions were easy to understand and it was up in minutes we had 5 in the tent and it was very roomy we were all comfy and it was a cool looking tent we all loved it especially the kids definitely would recommend it to anyone wanting an easy durable tent

5 Dadof2
[ Great tent! I highly recommend this one in particular. The dark technology really works and it keeps the sun out which I love. The absolute best part is literally the 3 minutes it took me to set it up in the dark! There is nothing worse than getting to your camp site after dark and struggling to put up a tent. This was so quick and easy and for that reason I highly recommend this tent.

5 Pavlik99
[ I have used multiple tents in the past, and none have been as awesome as this one. The tent is very easy to set- up and only takes a few minutes. The fabric and sippers all feel very well made and will last for years to come. I have used this several times already, and look forward to using it on future camping trips

It's perfect match with my old inter tent and the vestiblue can place equipment to prevent stolen by `` camping thief ''. Highly recommend this product!( I will upload photo later)

While a bit heavier than just the standard rainfly( which completely makes sense) it is not much heavier. This is great for trips where you expect more rain and/or plan to have a base camp. I really like that it is a full rainfly and large vestibule and not just an add on to the existing fly.

5 Quentin
I wanted to have a rainfly that allowed me to keep my gear outside of the tent but protected it from the elements and this rainfly did the trick. I have used my copper spur hv ul 2 with hotel rainfly backpacking so many times and I have never been disappointed. I even used it on a 12 day backpacking venture through Philmont and it was awesome.

5 That Slackline Girl
Such a good addition. Disclaimer: I 'm a biased BA fan. The sleeping bags, pads and tents I 've had from Big Agnes have been phenomenal, and as far as I 'm concerned you 'll be happy with any purchase. That being said, this addition is perfect if you have big backpacks you need to be weather safe under a fly, and if you want to wake up and stick your feet out of your tent and get your shoes on without getting wet, if you like leaving your shoes outside or a box of food or an instrument but do n't want morning dew or rain on it, and if you travel in pairs it sure is nice to have the space to move in and out without feeling cramped. As someone who likes the small, lightweight and practicality of the Copper Spur, I think the Copper Hotel is a great addition to have more space without needing a bulkier tent.

4
This was a great addition to my tent. Just enough extra room to stow gear during bad weather. It adds a bit of weight but is worth it

5 David
[ I bought this tent last year, but was only able to use it for the first time a few weeks ago. I was excited to give it a try and was not disappointed. Some high level thoughts: 1. I wanted a tent with a large vestibule AND that I could stand up in. I live in the PNW and we get a lot of rainy days. The amount of space was perfect for my setup. 2. The initial build is a but confusing at first, but once you figure it out is a breeze to setup. The tent uses a snap system that I have n't encountered before but that I find clever. 3. It took me more than a few minutes and few tries to figure out which is the front door when adding the tarp. BA likely could have added some big arrows or something here. 4. Yes, this is a two person tent, but I use a larger sleeping pad, so really only have space for one( ok with me since I solo mostly). 5. Definitely a car camping tent. But it is compact enough when stored to not take up too much room. 6. My only real complaint is the vestibule has about a 6 '' gap around the bottom edges. So you do n't get a real feeling of 100% privacy. I also use the separate footprint and I kept kicking dirt into the vestibule area that required me to constantly sweep out. On the other hand, did n't have any problem with bugs. 7. Love the amount of doors, including the front and side door. Bottom line: This will be my go- to tent for solo car camping, especially on wet/rainy weekends.

5 Major Major Major
I 've had the older version of WT 2 for over 10 years. I recently replaced it( actually, just turned it into my 'desert' tent), because it started losing its waterproofing. This new version is even cooler than the old one with multiple entry points. Great upgrade.

5 Sebas
I bought this tent due to the great price and frequency that I go car and motorcycle camping. When set up for the first time, I was impressed with how big it was and how much space was inside both the 2 person tent and the vestibule, literally felt like a living room. It is big enough that my entire CRF300L fits inside with room to spare in case the weather was bad and I wanted to give my bike a break. Although it does take a little to setup solo, it helps a lot having someone to help you. The separated pole bag is nice since you can split the weight between people as this is most definitely not a backpacking tent. Overall super satisfied with this tent after about 10 uses, has done well in the wind and light rain and I am sure will do great in all other conditions.

5 michaela
I have n't used it yet, but I 've set it up in the garden and I am very excited to use it. It looks very functional and it's compact.!

5 Shark
I bought this tent because the large vestibule would fit my motorcycle judging by the specs. I have n't done that yet, but I did fly with it so it could be used for a week- long bike race. We received many compliments on the tent and it worked really well.

We have camped for 25 years, starting with a green canvas Coleman cabin tent aka the green monster sweatbox, and stayed with their products for most of that time. Then we were given a great cabin tent with an entry way, or foyer, as my daughter- in- law called it, and it was a nice tent. The setup was a bit of a challenge, but the entry way seperate from actual living space was awesome. Then a pole broke, a few wear holes appeared and it was time to go. This new Core cabin tent is the best upgrade, as the entry way has privacy panels to allow for extra sleeping space or to be inside when it's bad weather. And the cabin space is enough for a queen size air mattress, two small tables and our gear with plenty of floor space to move around. The set up, once we did it once at home, took less than fifteen minutes from bag to finish. Looking forward to many more fun trips with this tent. Customer service is awesome as well, we ordered a screen house, although functional, had stains from shipping or production, and they have replaced it at no cost. More products from Core will be part of our gear supply!

5 Jason D.
I bought this tent for me& my wife after her saying she wanted more room. This tent is awesome, the screen served to hold all of our stuff,& the bedroom section easily held 2 queen sized mattresses with plenty og room to spare. Ventilation is excellent,& the tent set up in about 15 minutes doing it the first time( Taking time to read the instructions). One night a storm front rolled in& dropped about 2 '' of rain in 12hrs on us, a real torrential downpour. Not one drop of water inside the tent, I was actually shocked by this seeing how much& how hard it was raining. Hats off to CORE for their build quality& tent layout. Only thing I wish they made, was a fitted footprint for it as I had to use a tarp instead. But overall, I 'm very happy with this tent.

5 Bobbylynn W.
We bought this tent from your website and it is very nice so far. we set it up in the back yard once to get familiar with the tent and the setup steps. good thing we did, when we went camping the following weekend, the incoming storm looked strong. We put the tent up fast since we had done it once already, as I was setting the guy lines the hail started I only got 4 set before the hail was too large... pea sized to begin with the storm raged for well over 45 minutes, the hail grew to BASEBALL sized! we stood in the corners to help hold it down to the wind... we could see the hail pummeling the tents rain fly. After the hail finally stopped we dealt with the flash flooding. The damage to the tent was a 1- 2 inch tear in the rain fly on the right side. So is it possible to buy a replacement rain fly if needed? also one of the grey fiberglass poles does not hold tight together, its like the internal elastic cord is too long? other than that the tent is great, we love the screen room aspect and the way the windows open for venting, and our dog loves the ground level air intakes to keep cool. If you would like pictures we have pictures of the the tent up after the storm as well as the hail and the total aftermath. overall the tent is very strong, easy to set up, and good for us.

I 've taken the Crag Lake on several trips now. It's the first higher end tent I 've used. I use it primarily for backpacking. It's a huge improvement over the beast I was carrying( some random 8 lb tent) but I 'd say this is right on the edge of how heavy I 'd want my tent to be. It's perfect for me and my wife. My dog( a lab) can fit if we absolutely have to, but typically she sleeps in the vestibule. This leaves us with a lot of space for gear and stretching out. We enjoy the side and overhead pockets which make organizing your personal items at the end of the night better. It's held up in moderate rain and wind and across three states so far.

5 Lawrence S
I use this tent for exploring rivers and fishing out of my jet boat. I chose the 3 person so I can store gear inside if needed, totally worth the minimal increase in weight. The floor is plenty durable and I set it up on rocks and gravel frequently without a footprint. Two large vestibules are great for laying out wet waders/boots and other gear. 5 Howie763
[ My first trip with my new Tungsten 1 Person tent was to Big Bend Ranch State Park last November. Temps ranged from lower 80 ’s during the day to lower 40 ’s at night. The tent weighed almost half what my previous one did. I was really happy about that. It also sets up in only a couple of minutes even when using the rain fly. On warmer nights the Tungsten was perfect without the fly. Great views of a star filled sky that way as well. On the coolest nights I was super comfortable with the fly on to help retain some heat. I was pleasantly surprised to find the air circulation was good enough to almost prevent all condensation from building up inside the fly. I am 6 ’ 2 ” and there was plenty of room for me and my long sleeping bag plus all of the gear that makes me happy to have close at hand. Don ’ t misunderstand though; it is definitely a one person tent. After those 4 nights I would definitely recommend this tent. It has all of the quality you would expect from a premium brand like Marmot. Get one for yourself without fear of disappointment.

[ As first time campers, when my partner and I first saw how compact and light the package was, we were skeptical of whether it would be large enough. However after setting it up- which was super easy- it was as roomy as you need it to be. The hardest part was putting it back into the bag as neatly as it came. However if you are impatient like my partner and prefer to just stuff it in, it still works, which is great! It is a three person tent, but is a tiny bit cramped imo, for two people however, it ’s perfect with some spare space. As a two person tent I ’ d rate it 5. As a three person, only for size I ’ m rating it 4.

Honestly ca n't say I 've had any of the issues other people mentioned. I 've slept in the tent a few times now, including inclement weather. Once in the winter when it hit 17F and recently during during storms with driving rain. The winter I picked up frost on the inside of the fly with the vents open, would vent doors next time. During the down pour the fly wet out but the inside stayed dry. Nothing flapped in the wind or leaked water. The stakes supplied are plenty. I might spring for nicer stakes, but ca n't complain at the price point. Much more room than my Quarter dome. Not sure how you make it easier to set up? Match the colors insert the poles clip the clips- put the peak pole on top of the cross poles stakes in the loops. I 'll be in touch to see if I can get the bike pack poles for it.

I bought this to do some backcountry elk hunting in oregon. I am not planning to get more then 8 miles back so the weight is really not a concern to me even though its really not that heavy. Its definitely bigger then I expected as I have purchased cheaper 2- person tents in the past that your head was smooshed into the wall of the tent. Bottom of the tent is a little thin so I do suggest running a tyvek type ground cover underneath of it if you are running any type of sleeping pad. For the price it will hunt and sleep fantastic!

Took it out for a weekend and was very comfortable. Had some unexpected wind and rain and has absolutely no problems at all. Kept bugs out very well. Only complaint is the netting seems to stop too high up so the ventilation doesn ’ t make its way to the floor very well. Solid purchase either way and I can ’ t wait to use it again.

I wore out one of these. Using it for solo car camping and short back packs to base camps. No heavier than any 4 season tent and quite warm with the high solid nylon walls. Mine was a little compact inside but fine solo. I had a couple who lived in one for a week. He was tall and she was petite. I like the basic stand alone pole system of a dome tent. The fly can be tied to maximize airflow and ventilation. I did buy a Tiger Wall, but I live where I can get `` factory '' deals and I 'll lighten my pack any chance I get, but I was ready to get another one of these and the vestibule!

The tent is fairly light- weight, good looking, and easy to assemble- disassemble but after a few tries. It would be great to have detailed video instructions on how to assemble it or pack it properly. I also noticed some defects in the material of the inner- tent when I was setting it up for the first time( photo attached). I like the tent overall but I really worry if the materials are strong enough. I also agree with the comment about the tent's sack- it would be great if it would be a bit wider and made of tougher material.

I used this tent on a 4 night canoe trip in the Boundary Waters and had an amazing experience! It rained the first 2 days of the trip and this tent kept everything really dry while still being well ventilated. I loved that it came with a footprint that is super lightweight, this kept the bottom of the tent mud free in the rain and it cleaned up great when it was dry- I even used this footprint as a picnic blanket for lunch breaks between campsites which was an added bonus! 2 people in the 3P tent was ideal to have some extra room to move around, and I love that is has 2 doors with kick outs/vestibules on the rainfly to store items outside the tent while still being covered! My favorite bonus feature on the tent is the guyline bag that has a light diffuser for headlamps, so you pop your light into the bag and hang it on one of the many loops on the top of the tent for a perfect diffused light! The `` stargazer '' mode with the rainfly off was also amazing for stargazing without getting eaten alive by bugs! This is the best backing tent I have used( and a great price!) and I cant wait to take it with me on future trips!

Brought this tent on a 5 day trip and loved it! The set up was really easy and I love the ventilation spots! The coolest thing is the stakes bag that works as a lantern when you stick a smaller light in it. You can tell it was designed with care

I took this tent on a three- night backpacking trip to Colorado and I highly recommend it. My buddy and I were very tired after reaching our campsite and we were able to get the tent set up in under 10 minutes. The tent includes several unique features to make this process as quick as possible, including color- coded corners on the tent and footprint, a cool idea that I had never seen before. The tent also has a few other neat and useful features worth mentioning including two doors, large vestibules, and numerous interior organizational spaces and tools, such as pockets along the walls and a clever integration method that allows you to hang the removable top of an Ampex pack inside for easy access. Once we got it up, it performed very well. Our campsite had a significant amount of flies and wasps, but the tent ’s fabric kept all the bugs out for our entire trip. It also rained one night and the rain fly kept us( as well as my boots and pack in the vestibule) entirely dry. Additionally, our campsite overlooked a valley and we experienced some wind gusts during the trip. The tent never felt unstable and handled the wind well. In fact, I carried the tent in and I was surprised by how strong the tent was when considering how light it weighed. Finally, the temperature of the tent stayed well moderated because the tent has several vents. I would guess the temperature got down to the 30s or 40s at night and I was never too cold or too warm. Overall, I highly recommend this tent. I ’ ve camped in numerous tents over the years and the Ampex 3- person is by far my favorite. I look forward to using it on my next trip.

[ This product can not be more fitting for our family of campers and hikers. When I say this is lightweight I absolutely mean it. My 11 year old daughter can carry this with ease, which will make it perfect for summer camping trips. This product is an awesome design and perfect for any camper or hiker or even a hunter. Anyone looking for something simple and sleek.

Highest quality tent that I 've used. Some very nice touches that I 've not seen in other higher end tents. Looking forward to using it again soon. Worked great on a two night camping event. Was rained on once and stayed dry.

[ We got this tent and it was to cold to go outside. So we set it up in the basement. We ’ ve slept in it for 3 nights straight. We can ’ t wait for the summer to come and take it camping! Set up was super simple that my 10- year- old almost did it all by himself there is plenty of room and the durability is awesome. It looks like it should withstand the weather and rain.

[ This is a super nice tent. It was easy to put together and it fit the needs of my camping trip. There was more than enough space inside. It feels durable as well!

5 yomerys_9789
[ Our newly designed ball- and- socket system allows for easy tent setup and takedown, providing a quick and secure structure every time. A lower air intake vent draws in cool air from the ground while the mesh ceiling allows hot air to escape.

5 sonyaf1_5844
[ This portable easy to set up durable tent was perfect for our weekend getaway. The ventilation and weather resistance was also perfect. I love how roomy it was.

5 Gumbo78
Bought this to replace my old, worn out tent. Could n't be happier. Setup is super easy. Took me about 5 minutes, by myself. Ball and socket system is almost cheating. Plenty of ventilation. Air intake is a nice addition, as well, pulling cool air in from the ground. First time out and got some rain. Rainfly did it's job, as did the seams. Not a drop off water in the tent. Decently light with enough room.

I am an Outdoor Instructor and an avid thru hiker and I use gear like this for both work and pleasure. I am particularly impressed with how spacious this tent is for its weight. It comfortably sleeps two people without feeling too cramped. I am also a huge fan of the dual door design with two vestibules for gear storage, which are particularly useful in the rain. I also love the hook attachments for attaching the fly to the tent body! They are super easy to use and reduce the fly stretching, helping it to maintain its waterproof ability. The Strato UL 2 is perfect for camping and backpacking and will likely be the tent I take with me on my next thru hike. I definitely recommend this tent!

I ’ m a yoga instructor, trail guide, community scientist, and environmental educator based in Northern California. I need my gear to hike, camp, backpack, and practice yoga in northern California. I used it for a short overnight backpacking trip along the coast. The Strato UL2 tent is a ultra lightweight two person tent that weighs in at only 2 lbs 6. 7 oz. It can fit two, but you ’ ll be up against the walls. Very nice weight to space ratio, though, with thoughtful touches to reduce weight yet still provide comfort. It has clever placement of an overhead mesh pocket and two mesh pockets behind the head for easy storage. Double doors can come in handy for 2p( no crawling over another person to get out) as well as additional gear storage outside of the tent so you ’ re not cramped up. Doors have a top and bottom zipper, which I find preferable because it reduces the chance of it snagging. I also like that the waterproof fly is undyed and free of flame retardant chemicals. Due to the lightweight nature of this tent, I definitely recommend the footprint for a solid foundational layer. The Strato UL2 is a perfect tent for backpacking, and I look forward to using it on longer trips this summer.

I am the author of the Falcon Guide to Vanlife and Hiking Wyoming, so I spend a majority of my time hiking trails, backpacking, and living outside. My gear needs to be tough, multi- use, lightweight, and hopefully not take up too much space( to stay in the van). I travel mostly around Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. The Strato UL 2 Tent gets 5 out of 5 stars from me. I can ’ t believe how light weight it is vs how much shelter/space you actually get. The two doors is wonderful to have on such a lightweight tent and helps to make it a true two person tent. The two doors mean you ’ re not waking up your buddy or partner on the way to pee in the middle of the night. It also allowed space to make one side a “ gear garage ” and the other a more functional door. I also liked to amount of space I had at my feet. My pup appreciated it too:) There is a serious amount of “ living space ” in this tent. I wouldn ’ t even mind being stuck in the rain for a while cozy and bunkered down. I especially appreciated the solid lower canopy to keep dust, wind, and rain out. It also felt durable and even though I ’ ve used this a handful of times already, it ’s showing no signs of wear. My favorite part of this tent is how small it packs down to. Smaller than a loaf of heritage bread? Two nalgenes side by side? It ’s SMALL. And when my partner and I share weight, the sleeping bags are FAR bigger than what this tent packs down to. Nose goes for who gets the bags:) This product is ideal for lightweight backpackers in non- extreme conditions( think heavy snow).

I 've been camping and backpacking since the mid 80s and have used countless different tents of various, quality, materials, and sizes. This tent blows them all away. I was ready to pull the trigger on a Big Agnes Tiger Wall, when I found this. It has more space for essentially the same weight. There are a ton of little things that make this tent great and set it apart from others tents( that really are n't in the same class besides shape and capacity) besides space and weight. The details like how the poles attach, zipper pulls, sil nylon with no PU coating, and two way door zippers, set this apart as well. The materials are just the right denier too. It's light yet still fully featured with pockets in the right places, and innovative fly vents in the vestibule doors. Love love love this tent!

This tent does that too. Because of the the way the pole is bent at the foot end you get a nice vertical wall where your feet are( and the wall at the head is nearly vertical too). I 'd say it fits someone up to 6' 5, if they do n't mind having their head and feet touch the ends just a lil. It's also wide enough for two wide( 25 '') sleeping pads, so there's plenty of elbow room too. Love love love this tent!

I could n't love this more. When. Im camping with a partner, having a `` stuff '' tent vs a sleeping tent is awesome. Makes the nights cozy and fun and keeps the area small enough to stay the right temperature but keeps our stuff nearby. When camping with a friend, we each get our own space and have chairs set up in the middle for morning coffee. The set up is a bit comicates, as opposed to normal tents, but that's to be expected. It's not hard, just requires a bit of thought as it's different. This would be a great tent for small families enabling a kid tent and a parents tent, just know the two sides are n't huge so would n't be great for people who bring a lot of stuff they want to keep with them in the tent. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a couple color options. I like reds, yellows and oranges for the color of the morning light when I wake up, but brown is better than green so it's ok:)

5
Camping with a family of 4 on a rainy weekend put this to the test. We loved having our own tents, within the tent. Camping with just two adults had plenty of shelter under the vestibule. Even used this as a lunch shelter at a Girl Scouts field day, using just the fly. Worth the price tag. My only `` negative '' feedback is that I think this should be sold with the foot print and the 2 extra poles to make an awning.

5
Excellent tent for camping with a family. My wife and I typically camp to ride, so we have weighed whether this setup could be used for MotoCamping. For our smaller middle weight ADVs that might be a tall order. Possibly doable on something the size of a GS1300 or Pan America. For now it makes an ideal tent for car and truck camping. This was our 4 year old's and our dog's first camping trip. I truly envy their ability to sleep the whole night. My wife and I slept on one side while our child and dog slept on the other. The vestibule made for easy day to day load outs and occasional drying of clothes. Convertibility is an awesome option as you can opt to use just one tent to have a larger vestibule which could potentially be used to cover motorcycles, but realistically would be more suited for bicycles. It could potentially be mounted on a bicycle pannier if rearranged. Just pay attention to your pole placement, they are long which means they could be easily bent in a fall. I would note that despite the site photos there are no poles to hold up the door flap.

5 Gear Junkie
We just got back from ten days in Yellowstone, and this tent made the trip fantastic! We usually bring a six- person tent for our family, but this fit the four of us perfectly. We are four adults. Each tent is big enough for two regular sleeping pads. We fit an Exped MegaMat with a Big Agnes Boundary in one tent, with only minor overlap. The space was amazing. We were able to hang a small clothesline across one door for towels. The tent made it through a couple big rainstorms with no issues. The temps outside got into the 30s, and the tent remained fine. This is definitely a car camping tent, but it packed in much nicer than our old tent. We bought the optional footprint, which I think should just be included. It makes setup and teardown a dream. It kept everything very clean. We got a lot of compliments in the campground!

5
We were looking for a tent that would replace our Chimney Creek 4 mtnGLO tent. Our kids are 10 and 7 and we have a new puppy and our 4 person tent was getting a bit tight. We took the Wyoming Trail 4 out on our first camping trip of the summer to the WA coast and it worked really well. The tent sets up pretty easy once you have done it once and figure out where the poles go and which ones go on top and bottome of each other. Very intuitive color coding of clips which makes setting up the raincover very straight forward. We loved the space in the large vestibule as we set up a chair and small table inside it and were able to also have a dog bed for our puppy to sleep in at night. I think we may have even convinced some friends with kids that were with us to think about getting the same tent! I think the only issue would be the size of the footprint of the tent. It is very long and it could be a tight fit in certain campsites.

Pound for pound the best two person backpacking tent I have used. I have used many different brands. This tent replaces a five year old MSR Hubba Hubba. This tent has much taller and straighter side walls. I am 6 ’ 4 ” and I had plenty of leg room. My partner is a petite women and I do think it would be tight for two large men. [ I and my wife set this thing up after it was delivered, we didn ’ t notice any issues with the seams, zippers and so on. It surprisingly has a lot of room, we are both 5 ’ 11 ”, and we could lay in it with plenty of room left over for our dogs; 60& 50 lbs both approximately. Even at our heights, we had plenty of room to sit up, move around and simulate changing clothes and so on. It looked well made and the seams looked good, I am still going to spray them just to make sure though, but even if I didn ’ t, I doubt they would leak. I love the dark green colors, I am ex- military and like to keep a low profile if I can. If the millennial ’s and the “ Z ’s ” want the bright colors and the attention, let them have it. This wouldn ’ t be a tent for the “ uber- ultra light ” through hikers, but for day hikers, I think it would be fine. It appears to be very sturdy, which I think it would be great in snow/rain/wind. I think you get a lot for the price with this one, no complaints here and am really happy I picked it up!

Very easy to assemble with tons of features like pockets, door flap holders, hooks lining the top of tent for hanging lights, etc. The two air vents on the rain fly kept things breezy, even while keeping the rain out in the morning. Top notch design! Only downside I noticed so far is that the stakes provided were n't the strongest, and a couple were bent upon taking out of the ground.

Bought this tent a long time ago, about fourteen years. Has held up great for that time. Ten min. set up time with two people. Hooked this tent to the back of my truck that has a cap. Worked great as a second room. I use the truck as a bedroom. Sleeve zips off for a third door option if using the tent alone. The only problem was when it rained one time and a pool formed between the cap and the tent on the sleeve. If it was on the right car maybe this would n't happen. The other thing that should be done to make set up easier is to mark the center of each tent pole. This is to mark the apex of the tent to tie the roof ties to. You will see what I mean when you set up. Would I buy this tent again? Yes. And I have never put any kind of waterproofer or seam sealer on and never had a leak.

5 Travis
I used the tent for the first time this past weekend and thought it was great!! My wife even enjoyed camping and I was n't sure that was possible. I heard from reviews that people said that it was hard to set up, but me and my friend set it up for the first time in the dark and only took us 10 minutes, very simple. They even have a video that shows you how to set it up, I would advise watching it first if you are unsure. Others said that it wouldnt fit back in the bag that it comes with, but again, I had no problem with it at all. The only cons were the tent pegs that came with it. They had no point at the end and bent everytime you hammered them in. I went to REI and bought some titanium tent pegs and problem was solved. The only other con was that when using the zippers, they sometimes catch the overflap fabric. Not sure how to fix it yet, but not a big concern. The tent is big and very roomy. I 'm 6' 5 '' and could walk around the tent with no problem. I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and the fit was perfect. Great tent, cant wait to use it again!

Love the idea of attaching this tent to my SUV. My wife and I have spent many a nights stacking stuff form the back into the front seats to make room for us in the back. This tent arrived and we headed out to go camping, first stop Holter Lake Montana, fee for camping sights vehicles on pavement tents on grass, you can imagine that we could not drive stakes into the ground when half would have to go through pavement. Headed out of Holter to camp at the Bridge where the access road to Holter meets up with the river at wolf creek canyon. Pitched the tent, pole, stakes everything and lit the barbeque and settle down for the night. Then the wind came and tent blew away. Lesson learned point the vehicle into the wind if known or possible( keep in mind, Eastern Montana is some of the windiest area in the United States. Packed up and headed home in the middle of the night. Two days later headed out to Yogo Creek Montana, found a remote site and set up camp, some wind but it was steady and we pointed vehicle into the wind. Everything else went off without a hitch, beautiful clear creek, camp fire and tent did fine in the 10 to 12 mph wind gust. One small problem, the straps that attach to the tent and come over the top of the vehicle and attach under the hood. When the wind blows is raddles those straps and makes a noise like a semi using air brakes. I will be going to the dollar store and buying some cheap pool noodles, slicing them half way and attaching them over those straps to stop this in the future. Over all glad I bought the tent, roomy and pretty easy to set up and break down.

My husband loved how fast it was to put up and take down.

We just used our new tent last weekend. It was easy to put up and take down, had plenty of room for a queen air bed and 2 adults with all our gear. It rained both nights and the second night was a storm like I had never seen before. It rained really hard for several hours, totally filling a 4 inch pot that was sitting outside. We were dry in our tent with only a very small amount of water coming in and most of it was near the door. We were very pleased with how the tent performed and would buy again. A larger storm flap, especially over the door would be a nice addition. So for all the reviews of people complaining about the tent leaking, please be realistic, if it is raining while you are camping, water is going to get into your tent, if it leaks like a sieve that ’s a different issue, maybe you have the tent set up in a bad area, if you have maybe a 1/4 cup of water in your tent after a rain storm that dropped 4 inches of water in about 3 hours, you have a good tent. Thank you Doug

This is an easy backpacking tent that is a very light carry. Can hold two adults. It ’s nice that you can stargaze all night but still have a cover in case it rains. It is lightweight, so I would not plan to use it on cold nights. Less than a 5 minute setup- only uses 2 poles to setup.

5 Nichole
Excellent quality 2 person tent. I ’ m an avid backpacker so appreciate lightweight quality tents. Even though the poles aren ’ t aluminum, the tent is still lightweight and packs up pretty small. The fly is a nice feature and protects the tent well from weather. Nice design and perfect addition to my collection! I highly recommend.

5 BamaGuy
Was super excited to start building my backpacking gear collection, and this was one of the first things I got from Dick ’s. My first time putting it up, it took about 10 minutes to setup and takedown. Granted, with practice I could go faster. When I crawled inside it did feel rather roomy. I ’ m usually a solo backpacker, but there ’s definitely room for two if you ’ re not bringing your backpacks into the tent. It ’s not the lightest of options, but it gets the job done. It ’s well made and seems sturdy. Can ’ t wait to get it back out again!

I had a Nemo Hornet 2P purchased 4 years ago. On a 100 mile backpack, water unexpectedly came up through the floor. I sent in a picture, and my tent was replaced! Outstanding customer experience.

5 Swauvy
After researching ultralight tension tents I settled on this tent and am super happy with my decision. My last Hornet 1 person I have had for 7 years and it still works great. The new OSMO fabric is awesome and super light. The tent poles are maybe 12 '' long, perfect for bike packing or tucking in the side pocket of your backpack. The inside would be snug for 2 people but totally doable as you each have your own door and vestibules. Awesome small details that have been upgrades since my previous tent. Excited to see where I sleep the next 7 years with this one!

5 Janet
I have the 3p tent and it's amazing. Nemo thought about it all when it came to this tent! It rained for 3 days and this tent stayed dry. Nemo knocked it out of the park with this tent! Also, super light

5 Merle
I ’ ve used this tent for a few trips since picking it up late last summer. I have the older version of the 1p Hornet but I really wanted to try the 2p out so I ’ d have a little more room. Unless you ’ re super concerned about a few ounces, the 2p is the way to go even for solo trips. You could squeeze another adult in there with you but using it solo provides just enough extra room to be really comfy. The new rectangular shaped stuff sack and extra joints in the supports really help in packing this thing up as well. I used to lash the poles from my original 1p to the outside of my pack but the new version packs up so small I can fit it inside my pack. I really like having everything in my pack, especially hunting, so that was a really nice surprise when I got the new version. It ’s a great tent and I couldn ’ t recommend it more!

5 Killian
This is not a problem unique to Nemo, where 1 person UL tents are coffins, 2 person tents are great for one person, and the 3 person are good for two people, but have a large footprint. I also get that this is the lightest tent in the lineup, but the inside dimensions of the Dragonfly are n't really any different! So, if you are looking for a comfortable one- person tent and do n't mind an extra few ounces in your pack in exchange for sleeping well, this tent is hard to beat. It's one of the lightest and best- designed semi- freestanding tents I 've ever seen and used. It's awesome. I took it on an overnight with some experienced and fit hikers, and not only did we all get to camp at the same time, but I was set up and relaxing while they were still fiddling with their trekking pole tarps. So I highly recommend this tent to anyone who is not trying to go into what I call `` stupid light '' territory. However, my fleet now consists of the Hornet 1( for keeping up with thru hikers and pitching with a smaller footprint) and a Dragonfly 3 for slackpacking with my spouse. My next hope is that Nemo comes out with a true 2- person UL tent that can fit two 25x78 '' pads without a ton of extra space, something like the Dagger, but comparable in weight to the Hornet 3. Maybe it's in the works!

[ I have an older version of this tent, but was recently camping and reminded again of how amazing it is. I left the rain fly tucked open and it rained while I was away and when I came back everything was dry. I have had a version of this tent for over 12 years. I will buy only this tent. I am consistently left completely dry when others are complaining of some leak or puddle in their tent. Even if my bag or something is left pushed up against the tent wall. Which often happens as I camp with small children. This has been our go to family tent and it has never failed us. I have also back packed with it. Great tent, highly recommend.

5 Oohlala
[ I bought this tent predominantly for backpacking or car camping. There is a chance I could bike pack, but that was not part of the decision to get this tent. I chose this slightly heavier tent over the regular backpacking tent because I wanted the decreased packed length. This allows me to put it in my backpack horizontally, and I keep the entire tent+ poles together. I chose a one person to keep the weight and volume down. I also appreciated having the loop straps on the top of the fly. During the BWCA trip last week, I frequently had wet socks, wet pant legs, and what other things to dry out. It was also windy during the trip. Once, I did put clothing in a pine tree. My friend later told me he picked up my stuff from the ground. After that, I always put my wet stuff under the loops on the tent. I love it! I had been concerned about the darker color of this tent compared to the backpacking tent. However, the color in the pictures is misleading. When I 'm inside the tent, I ca n't call it cheerful on the daytime but it's not dark and dreary. I do n't think it will soak up heat of the sun anymore than any other non- white tent will. I do like that it blends in better with the environment. I did purchase the footprint that also extends into the vestibule space. I 've previously had a tent with this feature and found it helpful. However, my friend has a BA tent with a traditional vestibule and he put a piece of plastic in front of his tent door. In the BWCA, the areas that we pitched our tents were often dirt. I found I had a lot of dirt on the footprint which kept me from sitting on it, etc. Meanwhile, my friend just simply lifted up his plastic and shook it out. We did get rain, so it's possible my gear under the vestibule stayed dryer. That being said, I do question if I 'm in this similar situation if I could just fold the vestibule back on itself and under the tent. And a grassy or less dusty situation, the footprint extending into the vestibule would be great. Otherwise, this review will likely apply to both the backpacking and bikepacking versions of this tent. My 8- year- old LLB 1- person tent I labeled my coffin tent. I do not feel the same way about this BA 1- person tent!!! This tent is a little wider, and I definitely have more headroom. It has a vent above which was a key deciding factor for my purchasing this tent. I hate tent condensation in the morning! I have a normal width sleeping pad And I can straddle it on hands and knees to adjust it and blow it up a little bit more. I can kneel in the tent and bend over in a squat to further make adjustments. I am 5 ft 7 in. ALL of the wonderful storage pockets kept so much off of the floor of the tent that it gave my body more space to move around. This is wonderful no matter what size version of this tent you get. I had a light jacket, a hat, and a shirt in the big pocket on the roof. The zippers on the tent open and close beautifully. Nothing got stuck. With the zipper on the fly I was a bit more careful, but all I did was extend a finger first in the direction I was traveling and that kept any material from getting caught. I am still figuring out all of the toggles, especially on the right side( facing tent) of the fly. It is very nice to open the doors wide, even if I do n't use the awning feature. THE VESTIBULE is Wonderful!! The vestibule in my old coffin tent would n't fit my backpack. With this BA 1- person tent, My 65- L ULA Catalyst backpack, a bait holder bag, shoes, my pfd, and a sm dry bag fit under the vestibule AND I still had room to enter and exit the tent. The vestibule rocks!!! The only thing that I do n't like about the vestibule is that there is n't a second smaller one. I do n't know if any 1- person tent has two vestibules. However, while this does allow one to set up the tent in smaller spaces, you are very restricted which way your vestibule faces. For ex, you may have to choose between setting up the tent so the foot faces into prevailing winds for safety... or setting up so you can open the vestibule doors and have a beautiful view of the mountains or a lake versus woods and weeds two to three feet from your vestibule if you set up for wind management. Setting up the tent was easy. The first two times I put the ends of the crossbars in the fly, it was effortful and I was concerned that I would do damage to the fly. Afterward, the material loosened up and it became easier. Clipping the fly to the footprint when I 'm also using the tent body is just a little awkward because cord material gets in the way of the clips. Guying out is much easier, quicker with the new adjustment pieces. There are two pieces of velcro to attach to the tent poles at the head of the tent. In the stake bag, there are multiple Velcro pieces and I 've not been able to find out what those are for. I bought two MSR groundhog stakes for two reasons: BA should have provided 1 more stake and I wanted two longer stakes to better anchor the tent in higher wind. During our BWCA trip, we did get a little rain but we got high winds during that time frame. Under these circumstances and with my roof vent open, I did n't get rain inside the tent. Also, with what both my friend and I felt were straight line winds, no rain got in the tent from under the tent fly. That being said, since the fly edges tend to sit up a bit higher from the ground to allow more ventilation, there was a lot of dirt and wood matter splash up against the wall of the tent. Luckily, the solid part obtained body goes high enough that nothing got inside. The inner tent remained dry. Packing down the tent and putting it and the poles in the available bags is okay. The bags are just wide enough if you pack things well. The stakes and their bag came packed inside with the tent and fly. I am a little concerned about the stakes being pushed in the bag with all of this other delicate material. My friend got upset with me because he felt I was taking too long to tear down the tent. I kept the fly on the tent body and attended to fold it all up together keeping the mesh on the inside, then stuff it in the bag. My friend felt I should just stuff each one in separately. I 'm not sure what's best, I just want to protect this more delicate material. That being said, my biggest concern for the material was when I was packing away the tent. Having the footprint down certainly protected the floor of my tent from any damage. Pros: mostly everything! Roof vent, large, practical vestibule, material loops on exterior fly, large tent body entryway, VG zippers, vestibule doors open wide, lots of interior pocket storage, a 1- person without being too confined, usually adjustable guylines, quick setup, appears to handle high wind well, why is not too dark, reflective elements on the tent keep one from tripping, fly zipper also zips from the top down, well- made. Cons: I guess the tent/tent pole bags could be lighter and the bags just the tiniest bit larger dia. The daisy chain loops are very small and not terribly practical. BA should include the missing stake. I would like for BA to also sell the bikepacking and backpacking poles separately. I could see someone wanting to own both depending on what situation they would be using the tent. I would also like BA to advertise that the traditional footprint and the extended footprint will fit both bikepacking and backpacking tents. Otherwise, the rest of my review will apply

5 Kai K
[ Lightweight, sturdy, easy to put up…this is a great little one person tent. My only complaint is that Big Agnes should include the footprint because the test is quite delicate and requires one.

5 Danno
[ First: Th tent is n't nearly as dark- colored as the picture indicates- it's light grey and white. Very easy to set up and comfortable inside. Vestibule is roomy. The shorter pole segments make a big, positive difference when packing a bike! The bag is great if you want the Molle straps, otherwise I do n't see the advantage( and it does n't fit the best with my handlebar bag system.

I bought a Fly Creek UL1 fifteen years or so ago, when it was new to the market and a revolutionary change in tent design. In the spring of 2024, I took it to Taiwan for a five week trip camping in the mountains, forests, and beaches there. I camped for a couple of nights just outside Taipingshan forest park, doing long day hikes in the park. A few days later, I was camped on the beach, and noticed sand and dampness on the floor of the inside of the tent. There were lots of little holes in the fabric, from gravel or something sharp. Totally my fault. When I got home, I wrote to Big Agnes to see if repair was an option. It was not. Replacing the floor was not cost effective or really sensible for a tent that old and that used. They offered me a discount on a new Copper Spur UL1, and I jumped at the opportunity. The side door and bigger vestibule is an upgrade, and so is the more vertical wall, created by the little cross piece at the apex of the tent. The materials are really light, but seem quite tough. I have had it out in big rain in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, kayak camping in the Merchant Islands in Maine, and in a solid wind on Mount Olympus in Greece. The tent is very small, but holds its own in a wide variety of weather conditions. It is easy to set up- actually free standing, as opposed to the Fly Creek, which needs a couple of stakes to stay put. I go back and forth between tent and hammock. When there is a chance for no trees, or I am uncertain about what will be available, I bring the little Copper Spur, and I have not been disappointed. It is very light but not stupid light, and packs down small. All thumbs up for the product, and especially for the service from Big Agnes. I 'll be back for another if this one ever wears out.

5 Pappy
I own the 2019 version and I absolutely love this tent! I got too old for my bivvy and wanted a tent that I could sit up in and with more space. I also wanted something lightweight that could easily fit on either my mountain bike or gravel bike. I put it in my Salsa Anything fork cage with the poles packed inside.( The poles can be packed separately in the included pole sack.) It packs nearly as small as my bivvy and for me, the extra weight is worth the comfort tradeoff. This tent is lightweight, easy to set up, sturdy against wind and rain. It also has lots of convenient storage nets and pockets inside and I love the vestibule space.( I noted `` flimsy construction '' as a con, but that's just the nature of a ultra lightweight tent. I 've used mine a LOT over the last 6 years and it has stood the test of time.)

[ The Core Equipment 4- person dome tent is a great small tent with helpful features. I love the screen roof, allows you to view the entire night sky on clear nights. When it's rainy or if you prefer it, you can easily put the rain resistant tarp/cover over the top for protection. 2 features that I love are the electrical cord pocket and the air intake- it allows cool air to enter through the bottom mesh of the tent while letting hot air exit out the top. This tent is a great tent for small families or couples who want a great camping experience.

[ This tent is awesome!! It ’s super easy to set up, even for someone like myself who has never set up a tent before. It ’s quite roomy for a 4 person tent, and packs up small so it fits in the back of my sedan. The material feels very durable and I love how many little features it has. Can ’ t wait to test it out more this summer!

4 alyssahummelb185f0c_5321
[ I recieved this from influenster for my honest review. This tent was super easy to put up and take back down. Was easy to get back in to the carry bag it came with as well. This was comfortable to sleep in, had 2 people with plenty of room left in it but can definitely fit 4. I 'm 5' 3 '' and I could stand in it with out having to crouch down so changing clothes in it was comfortable as well. This is definitely more of a spring/summer tent as the upper sides are only mesh but the tarp covers the mesh enough that it wo n't get wet. However I would be a little weary with heavy rain and wind in case for it to stay dry but regular rain was fine. The mesh siding and the added feature for air intake makes it perfect to sleep in in warm weather. I also loved the added feature to run a cord through without having to run it through the door. The price and quality is good so it's a good value. Will be taking it with again for our next camping trip.

As a big man I can see that it will hold the avagage person to 12 people. It is very easy to set up even for one person. I will be getting a lot of use out of it in the coming years. I did have to get some stronger steaks as the ground here is as little harder for them to go in the ground easy. I did have to figure out that putting up the fly that you have to twist it around the poles otherwise the fly would push on the buttons and collapse the poles. But still an easy fix to twist the clip around and bring it from the back side.

I have only used it once am pleased with the purchase so far. I did get rid of all the stuff sacks and replaced the with the one from my Hubba Hubba. I kept the pole/light tube.

On some levels at this price point, you can fall into `` a tent is a tent '' thinking. But Nemo put so much thought into the little details of this tent. I have used a Big Agnes Copper Spur for years and loved it, but my first night in my friend's Hornet sold me. The venting was much better than my Copper Spur, which made sleeping through a hot Kentucky summer night much more comfortable. The tie ups for the doors and vestibule are placed perfectly so they do n't droop weird or keep unrolling whenever the wind would blow. And lastly, the Nightlight Pockets freaking blew my mind. Seriously, if you 're looking for a tent that is well designed as well as well made-- I ca n't recommend the Hornet enough.

5 TahMoo
After years of using a 2- person tent with my wife, we decided to upgrade to a 3- person. While there's a little weight penalty, we 're really happy with the extra room. The materials and construction are really great. The set- up instructions could be a wee bit clearer but so long as you set up the tent once before going, you 'll be fine. I 'd definitely recommend this to a friend.

5
I bought this tent to do backpacking. It ’s been on a few trips with me and I am so glad I invested the money into it! It was worth every penny and I love how simple it is to set up.

5 David S
I have the three person version of this tent and have used it for about a dozen nights or so. For the wife and I, this tent has ample space for two 25 '' pads side by side and plenty of extra room for bags( if you do n't want to leave it in the vestibule). We split the tent( body and poles, rainfly and stakes) between our two packs and it is very light-- lighter than a comparable quality 1- person tent, The set up is easy and the tent is very high quality. My only gripe with the tent is the size of the footprint when fully staked out. It goes quite wide which may limit the areas where you could set up the tent, As such, we 've reserved this tent for campgrounds and trails we are more familiar with. I would highly recommend this tent as one of the lightest and best build tents of this size that I 've tested.

5 Mel124
I bought my first NEMO hornet in 2020 and it lasted me more that lasted 1, 000 miles worth of thru- hikes plus numerous weekend adventures. It was still in pristine condition when it was lost by an airline. So I went back for the same tent. This is a light, warm, sturdy tent that is the perfect size for me and my husky. I even took it snow camping the other weekend and it kept me warm and dry.

Super easy to set up and take down, no condensation or leaking( although it has not experienced super humid or torrential downpour conditions), and easy to keep clean. Lights a nice extra and work well. Great glamping tent, as long as you do n't have to carry far. Big foot print, too big for some pads in some national parks

5 Elizabeth H.
Very happy with this tent! It's been windy here and very rainy but the tent did just fine in the wind and not a drop of rain in the tent and honestly that was what made me nervous the most, the rain. We have a family of 5 and it's comfortable with plenty of room for all of us and our things.

5 Jacqueline I.
Best investment I 've ever made. First night the family and I slept in it, we had a lot of wind( 40 mph gust) and it held up to it's reputation. Everything was properly tied down as recommended. My wife loves this tent and I 'm proud to say we are proud owners of the 12 P Lighted Tent!

Got my tent a couple weeks ago. Took it out camping last week for 5 days. First night going into the next morning Thunderstorms. Rained all night. Tent performed perfect. Next day was really high winds for about half the day, and again issues. Set up was a breeze. Took seriously like 5 minutes to set up if that. The integrated lights though was the icing on the cake. Never have I seen a tent with this feature, and I do n't think I ever want a tent without it again lol. Totally worth the money.

5 Randy A.
Used it for a week. Had no issues, everything worked as it should. The light was very bright and a nice addition to the tent. Had a few rain showers and zero leaks. Highly recommended

Super fun colors! Great ventilation and rain fly coverage.

5 2TimeBuyer
I really appreciate the incremental design improvements over the previous version, that make a real difference, especially with rain resistance: 1. Longer rain fly, now reaching close to the ground 2. Staking loops and stakes for all 3 rain fly midpoints, so you can maintain separation between the rain fly and the tent 3. Velcro rainfly vent 4. Two tentpole grommets at each corner, so you can use the far one for raising the tent, and tighten the tent up with the close one later. 5. Two interior mesh pockets instead of one 6. Tapered closed tentpole ends, so that they slide through more easily, and do n't clog up with dirt 7. Expandable bag, which makes the tent easier to pack up quickly The only issues with the tent are inherent in the design and materials, but still pretty good for this price and weight: 1. No full rainfly over the front door, so you may want to put a tarp over the front if you expect heavy rain 2. Rainfly does not go all the way to the ground, but it should still give very good rain resistance if you stake it out well 3. The tentpoles slide through instead of clipping to the tent, which makes it a little more tedious to set up, but not a big deal after you 've done it a few times. 4. The fiberglass tentpole may break after a few years, at the stress point where the fiberglass meets the metal segment end, but if that happens, you can easily fix it with some duct tape.

Was so excited to try out the Quest Switchback 8 Person Cross Vent Dome Tent. This tent has SO MUCH ROOM!! Plenty of room even for an air mattress or two. Keeps wind, sun, and sand out but also very breathable. Very easy to install and take down... Will definitely suggest to others.

5 Tinker90
Oh my goodness, this tent is so big! We love using this for camping and for backyard family movie nights. We used this in our back yard the other night and set up the projector for movie night. We put this on our grass and no little critters came in or anything. We are a family of 6 and we had plenty more room in there for about 5 more people( laying down and spaced out). I absolutely love this tent.

5 ROr284
My family and I are camping a lot more these days to ensure safe distancing from others and also to continue connecting with nature. This tent is really well made and easy to put up. The tent poles are straightforward to assemble, and putting them through the tent was also pretty easy with two adults. The tent's seams are well sewn, no runs or loose threads to be concerned about. We felt like it provided a good shelter during the evening and the rain fly provides added protection. It fit two adults and two tweens comfortably with air mattresses and sleeping bags. Overall, really happy with this and we all look forward to taking this on more trips.

After having it less then a year and being someone who avidly camps I can say I hate this tent. It leaks, is always impossible to guy out properly, and has the crappiest window holds ever. The rain fly fits poorly and was never properly waterproof which you think would be important right?! The dongles that hold the windows, mess parts, doors are poorly sewn in and let water drip from them and due to the pitch of the tent you are sure to mis place your head at one point and end up with little drips right on your forehead all night without fail. If you ever camp where there is heavy dew, do n't! It WILL completely soak the tent in a mater of 30mins tops causing every surface to drip with wet. Do n't be like me and waste your money on this over priced garbage. 🙃

5 Redneck rafter
For what this tent is its great. Nice sized main room. Easy to get in and out of. Good size screen room. a family of 4 would be ok. Sleeps 3 and gear comfortably. Like most straight wall tents you need to make sure your windows are shut if you expect rain. The rainfly covers most of the open floor screen room. Set up is easy. Great tent for the price.

5 The Robot Wolf
My partner and I got this for our summer camping trips and set it up to make sure it's all there and easy to assemble. I was in the market for a new tent while camping. After looking at many options, I decided upon this model. I am very happy with my choice. So many great features. [ I hate setting tents up and taking them down, but this tent has an easy setup and take down method. It has inside and outdoor lights, you just need a battery for the inside lights. The tent comes with a bag that fits it all inside and it has handles so it's easy to carry. The tent has no issues if it rains. This tent is perfect if you have a baby or toddler, so they can still have their own area to play and sleep or it can fit up to 10 people.

[ The CORE Equipment 10- Person Lighted Pyramid Tent is hands- down one of the best tents I ’ ve ever used! From setup to takedown, this tent is all about convenience, comfort, and smart design. First off, it ’s incredibly spacious. We had plenty of room for our air mattresses, gear, and still space to move around comfortably — no crowding or tripping over stuff. The pyramid shape gives it great headroom and makes it feel even bigger inside. The built- in LED lighting system is a total game- changer. No more fumbling for lanterns or flashlights — it creates a warm, ambient glow that makes nighttime in the tent feel cozy and functional. Perfect for getting ready for bed, reading, or just relaxing after a long day outdoors. Setup was surprisingly easy for a tent this size. The instructions were clear, and everything felt durable and well- constructed. Plus, the ventilation is excellent. Even with multiple people inside, it never felt stuffy, and the airflow kept everything fresh. If you ’ re a family, a group of friends, or just someone who likes a little extra space while camping, this tent is 100% worth it. Durable, well- designed, and packed with thoughtful features — CORE nailed it with this one!

This tent sets up easily, vented well enough to keep condensation to a min, and is super light. The pack size( 1' long) makes it easy to fit across my handlebars.

I 've used this tent for bike packing the roads of the Eastern Sierras. It fits on my road bike handlebars perfectly. Form and Function, this tent is IT! Easy to set up, break down, and so fun to sleep in.

5
This has been my go to tent for camping the past year or so now and it has seen use on the tour divide, BWCA, and a bunch of smaller trips. I 've been very pleased with it's durability, lightweight and ease of use. I 've primarily used it as a two person tent and it has plenty of space for two oversized sleeping pads and gear. The gear loft is very handy for stashing two helmets to keep them away from chewing mice. I was worried it was a goner when a strong storm and 50+mph winds came out of nowhere in the boundary water, but it battled the winds and kept us dry despite a subsequent monsoon and water roaring underneath. My only complaint is that the stakes that came with it were n't very user friendly in rocky environments. After bending a few I swapped them for some titanium shepherds hooks which are easier to use and hold adequately.

5 BBROBS
I 've taken this tent out now half a dozen times. It's super easy to set up and Big Agnes has thought out all the little details. Reflective everything makes it easy to set up in the dark. The clicks to attach the fly to the tent are* chefs kiss*. The pockets inside are a game changer. Feels stable in the wind& rain. Few small complaints:- Two toggles that do n't have a corresponding loop to tie the fly into.- On the contrary, one of the doors has no toggle to tie up.- Can be hard to get out without getting wet from the fly if it has been raining.

4
This is a very well- made high- quality tent, which is very light and small. It is by no means a three man tent. The UL three is a two- man tent at best. Do not try to use this for three people.

We just received our new tent and set it up this afternoon. It practically set itself up. My wife and I easily had it set up in about 5 min, her first comment was `` Well that was easy, a lot better then the Coleman '' I 'm anxious to see how fast I can put it up next time, knowing the routine. Our biggest issue was the rain fly, but again knowing the routine it will go better next time. The lights were a definite highlight for my wife, she really liked this feature. One thing we liked with our Coleman that is n't on the Core is the D- shape swinging door. Not really a big deal. We ca n't wait to go camping!!!

5 Anne C.
The tent has not been on an adventure yet, but has been set up in the backyard for a couple weeks and had given our kids an extra space to spend time during the pandemic. The lights and power are great for evening time and the tent is so roomy! We love it.

5 Angela
I have never in my life wrote a review but I buy based on reviews and I couldn ’ t let this one go. This is a very durable tough build tent. I got caught in a very nasty storm with high winds and this tent stayed in tack and nothing broke or ripped. I had to hold the side wall so it doesn ’ t collapse on us but eventually we left everything in the tent and ran to the truck. That tent took a bitting for 5 hours in the wind/rain and didn ’ t not break. I had some water in the tent but compare to how bad the storm was the water was nothing. The stakes did pull up but didn ’ t damage the eyes, seems held up wonderful, metal poles didn ’ t brake or bend, zippers work, lights work. I thought I would had just to throw it in the trash after the storm but oh boy I was wrong. Great buy and I hope this review helps someone make the decision I did 3 year ago!

5 Janeal J.
This tent is awesome, fast set up. And we get a living space and bedroom. Plus plenty of room for the pup to roam around

5 Jessica A.
We ’ d previously had the 6 person instant cabin which was too small for us. We roll with 2 queen air mattresses and there wasn ’ t room to even stand in that one. The 9 person lighted tent gives us plenty of real estate for our 2 mattresses and luggage and even leaves some space to spare for a chair and kids to play cards on the floor. The lights are a bonus. Set up was a teeny bit more complicated than the smaller tent but I still managed it in less than 5 minutes by myself without glancing at the instructions.

This is a great tent! Comes in a nice carry bag for easy transportation. The material and poles of the tent are good quality. There are taped seams to prevent rain from entering the tent. Easy to assemble and take down and there's internal storage! The price is also great for what you get.

I really like this tent. It is for 6 people even though there are only 3 of us. It sleeps us perfectly. The pocket inside is a good size to hold my phone and glasses. It is easy to assemble. I will be using this a lot. It ’s a must have.

5 Ctshorelinemama
This tent is a beautiful color and incredibly easy to set up( even on one ’s own). Thee little storage shelf is great, and the interior side pockets are very helpful. In addition, the little brim in the front helps keep rain out of the entryway and offers a little bit of shade. I love that you can make the tent as open/breezy as you want. We used this indoors for a movie night. While it took up a ton of room, the kids had a blast being in it!

5 HKapl
Excellent value, a ton of really nice features that make this tent feel like a great bargain. Loved the smooth and thoughtfully placed zippers, quality floor and made it ok not to use a liner or mat. Sets up very quickly and easily for a tent of its size. Carry bag is fits contents well and is also well made.

[ This Tent is huge! I put a queen size mattress( 80x60) in it and still had enough room to walk around it while standing( I 'm 5' 8 '' and had 2 feet on the right and 2 feet on the bottom around the mattress to walk around). If you are looking for a true 6- person tent this, is it. The zippers are really high quality just need to go slow getting in an out as they can snag on the material just like any other tent. The rain fly and tent material is really nice waterproofing, feels like 15K. Be aware that Big Agnes currently does not sell extra tent poles to put up the shelter and the tent at the same time. Also, make sure to buy the Footprint( its not included), it adds longevity to the bottom of the tent and is necessary for the shelter to set up by itself.

5 CampingBunny
We purchased this for our New England adventure. Let me tell you it was a game changer. In New York in 32 degree weather we were cozy. In New Hampshire in the flood we were dry warm and out of the wind. We camped New England for 10 days and were cozy each night and it rained and was flooding for three nights. Easy set up even at night. Buy Big Agnes. They know what they are doing. And as a bonus go with the vestibule it was a game changer for sure.

5
Bought the big house 6 and vestibule for three people and two dogs( black lab and pointer) this tent has always been more than enough room for us and has been through a lot of rain. We have always been dry and comfortable.

5
great view of the stars and incredibly weather proof.

We used this tent camping at the lake with the captain comfort double pad and the double sleeping bag, and it is fantastic. You can see the stars without the mesh and easily pull back the rain fly, and leave attached. There's so much space! We love the addition of the vestibule and just ordered another one for the other side! We did n't realize both sides have the potential for adding vestibule, which adds such nice space, it's like two extra rooms!

This is our first tent in many years and we love it! Setting it up was a breeze( compared to my memories of tents years ago) and tearing it down was even faster! We are a big family( 7 of us) and there is plenty of room. I 'm so excited to use it for a trip once the weather cools down.

This tent is awesome!!! My husband is 6' 5 '' and even he can stand up in it! There's space for days!! It was also very sturdy and designed well to handle the elements. We 're super happy!

5 Chelsea A.
After researching tents for about two years( seriously! I read reviews on everything out there), I finally decided on this one and so far I could n't be happier with my purchase. I just returned from camping in this tent with two other adults for four nights. We all agreed that it's just the right size for four unrelated adults with all their gear( i. e. friends who would prefer not to sleep 6 inches from each other's faces); for the three of us, it was luxuriously spacious. I sprayed the tent and rainfly with waterproofing prior to the trip. We experienced two heavy thunderstorms and the tent did n't leak a single drop and the overhang of the rainfly even enabled us to keep the windows cracked. While it's not a bathtub- style floor, the seams are double- sewn in a way that makes leaks where the floor meets the wall nearly impossible. We appreciated the spacious gear pouches along the walls; the gear loft overhead is too high in the air to be able to easily reach to put gear up there( the center height of this tent is about 86 ''!) but the lantern hook is great. There are other thoughtful touches in the tent's design, as well, including air vents along the floor and fabric that covers the door zipper to prevent rain leaks. The significant number of windows ensured a well- ventilated tent that was bearable even when getting pummeled with midday direct sun. Set- up takes about 45 minutes; it's not hard but there are a number of steps. I think it will get a little faster as I get more familiar with the tent. I definitely would n't be able to set this tent up alone. All in all, it's comfortable, well made, and kept me dry.

5 Dave
You definitely need two people to set this up, but it is very easy to do. Has plenty of head room. I do n't need the divider but it is nice to have a second entrance/exit. Great having two stake down points under each doorway too.

This is my second Core tent( first is larger, family instant tent) Got 4 person straight wall for solo car camping with my cat and dog in dispersed areas. I set it up in 12 minutes first time, 9 minutes second time. The attached instructions on the storage bag are clear and simple. Despite arthritis and being a solo camper, I had no problems assembling it.( see attached unboxing- setup video) Interior has room for my Coleman XL heavy duty cot, the dog's travel inflatable mat and my camp toilet. Decent ventilation, missed the 3rd window though the air vent on that side does help with ventilation. Easily broke down, folded and fit into carry bag. Suggestion for solo campers; bring one small carabiner, use it to secure one hook of the rainfly so you can put it up easier. The plastic hooks do n't stay connected to the metal clip without tension. Securing just one makes it easy to set up the rainfly. I did it without assistance twice, but the wind catches it and I wished for a helper.

5 Lee M.
Great tent. Held up to the rain and gusty wind. I recommend it.

Frequently Asked Questions For Camping Tents with Rainfly

A rainfly is an additional layer of waterproof material that covers the top of a camping tent, providing extra protection against rain and moisture. It helps to prevent water from seeping into the tent, keeping the interior dry and comfortable. Having a rainfly is essential for camping in unpredictable weather conditions, as it enhances the tent's overall waterproof capabilities.

When selecting a camping tent with a rainfly, consider factors such as the tent's size, weight, and ease of setup. Additionally, look for materials that offer durability and weather resistance, as well as features like ventilation to prevent condensation. It's also important to assess the tent's design and how well the rainfly fits to ensure maximum protection during storms.

Rainflies can vary significantly in quality, material, and features. Some are made from lightweight, waterproof fabrics that are easy to pack, while others may offer additional features like UV protection or enhanced ventilation. It's important to choose a rainfly that complements your tent's design and meets your specific camping needs.

While it is possible to use a camping tent without a rainfly, it is not recommended, especially in areas prone to rain or moisture. The rainfly provides essential protection against the elements, and without it, the tent may not keep you dry or comfortable. If you anticipate good weather, you might consider using the tent without the rainfly for better ventilation, but always be prepared for changing conditions.

Adding a rainfly to a camping tent does increase its overall weight, but the benefits often outweigh this consideration. A rainfly enhances the tent's weather resistance and durability, making it a worthwhile addition for most camping trips. When choosing a tent, consider the balance between weight and protection to find the best option for your outdoor adventures.

Camping tents with rainflies come in various styles, including dome, cabin, and backpacking tents. Each style offers different benefits, such as increased headroom or lightweight portability. When selecting a tent, consider your camping style and the environments you will be in to choose the most suitable design.
