Perfect Summer jacket for walking! Lightweight, bright. Love the length and pocket placement.

5 Denise S
I bought this jacket for an upcoming bike ride because of it's nice yellow color and cropped style. I almost always wear an XS in Columbia jackets, however, I ended up exchanging the XS for a Small to gain a little extra length as it was just a little too cropped for me. Other than that, the jacket is perfect for what I was looking for. I liked that it did n't have a hood and also has zip pockets. Very stylist jacket.

[ I really enjoyed the stretch- fit feature, I could actually be active and use my arms without the jacket riding up. Then matte- like finish is fantastic and a lot more subtle than the Ghost Whisperer finish, with a soft yet durable feel. Plenty of pockets for everything you 'd need to stash away and the chest pocket fits a rather large cellphone, I use the Galaxy S8+ with an OtterBox case so this should fit pretty much any phone on the market. I have yet to be in freezing temps but at low 40s with wind the StretchDown jacket kept me very arm, the seam welded baffles do their job. I would absolutely recommend this jacket after reviewing the Ghost Whisperer as well as options from Patagonia and Arc'teryx I decided to buy the Mountain Hardwear StretchDown Jacket and I do not regret my decision.

5 CMV868
[ Super warm and light, this jacket is my go to in cool weather and pairs well with a shell when it's really nasty out.

5 Warriorsbp
[ I bought this jacket online with size large and color zinc. It is so amazing it keeps you completely warm in even in 16F. I love the full neck covering design and it ’s water repellent technology is amazing. I poured a glass of water on the hands and no wetting at all. Zinc color is also extraordinary. Love this product.

5 SierraWhiskey
[ This is my favorite jacket. I probably wear it more often than I should, to be entirely honest. It's just so darn versatile, though, that I find myself grabbing this jacket in nearly any situation. The fit is perfect and the angled baffles look great on anyone. The baffles themselves are much more firm than most puffy jackets, which just feels fantastic every time you throw it on. The material is durable, and the range of motion is completely non- restricting. Interestingly, I was especially impressed by the way this jacket feels when moving between being outside/inside. I 've ridden my bicycle outside and felt toasty warm while wearing this well below 30 degrees+ windchill, but then when I go inside at 70 degrees it still feels comfortable enough that I do n't need to take it off. I think everyone should have a Stretchdown. Mine has completely changed the way I think about down jackets.

5 Jdoveri
[ Awesome like all mountain hardware gear. It fits great and it is very warm and no feathers poking out like my other one. The stretch material is great and provides a lot of freedom of movement.

[ Employee of mountainhardwear] Great stretchy light weight rain shell. The upper chest pocket is great and is n't offered by other brands at this price. Quality waterproof YKK zippers and construction. Packs down into its pocket and works great for backpacking.

5 747
Excellent shell. Very stretchy, lightweight, the right fit for layering. Great windbreaker for the Greek islands during the summer, haven ’ t managed to get it wet just yet.

5 Mateo
This a great light rain jacket. It works well in the light/moderate rain for about 1. 5.

5 JD
Even though it says the fix is trim fitting, I 've found it plenty roomy. The inside feels great, i like the large hand pockets and the chest pocket. Hood is a good fit, and most important of all- it's kept me dry during a few short downpours and a moderate rain during a 4 hour hike. This is going to be my new favorite shell.

5 CurtE
If you can only afford one rain shell, this is it! Lightweight, breathable, comfortable, AND waterproof! I wore this during the steady deluge of a Pineapple Express rain event for over an hour and remained dry and comfortable. All of the zippers( main, armpit, pocket) have been trouble- free. Keep in mind this jacket lacks a two- way zipper and an internal pocket, but despite these shortcomings I find it to be an excellent value!

[ I bought this to replace a 20+ year old jacket that the zipper finally gave out on. This was the closest thing I could find that was warm, lightweight and not bulky or restrictive

I 've been an avid backcountry skier for over a decade and this will be my first season guiding, so insulating jackets are usually put to good use. In the PNW the temps can get very cold but are generally moderate compared to somewhere further inland, so sometimes a 'light' puffy is just what you need. I ordered a medium and found the fit to be good- a little loose in the chest but great length( which is usually my issue with mediums; I 'll order larges just to get longer sleeves). Love the elastic sleeves on this jacket- not too tight but secure and can still stretch over gloves, watches, etc. My general experience with stretch down has been very positive; mostly due to the added durability. I 'm not afraid to brush up against trees or rocks, carry firewood, or set this jacket down on a rough wooden bench. The pockets are roomy and do n't snag as much as other jackets I 've owned, and the fact that this packs into its own pocket makes it easy to pack along on backcountry trips. I think the versatility and durability of this jacket makes it a great jack- of- all- trades for the multi- sport athlete and a solid addition to a ski bum's jacket collection.

4 KellyVentures
I ’ m a backcountry Ski Patroller that teaches Outdoor Emergency Care and Avalanche Classes in the Rocky Mountains. I need my gear to perform both while patrolling and teaching classes, which usually involves temperature extremes and a lot of transitions between high output activities like skinning and digging and rest periods during transitions and lecture/discussion. I also need gear that is durable and can withstand several days in a row of use and abuse. The Stretchdown light jacket has turned into an everyday staple for me whether I ’ m on the hill or just heading into town. This good looking jacket has the warmth of a normal down jacket without the swishy noises or constricting fit that I ’ ve found in some others. It moves with me while I ’ m skinning or shoveling and, as with most down jackets, this one packs up small so I can easily stash it in my pack when I get warm. I ’ m usually a fan of hoods on most of my jackets, but as a layering piece in the field I actually really like that this one doesn ’ t have a hood, so it has a slimmer profile under my shell and is less bulky. I think this jacket is a great choice for someone looking for a lower profile down jacket for winter layering while skiing, snowshoeing, etc. that can also be worn as an outerwear piece that is comfortable and stylish in the spring/fall. Because of its weight and packability, it ’s a great choice for camping or backpacking year round, too.

4 HKing
I am an adventure supervisor at a therapeutic boarding school in Northwest Montana, and I use this jacket to lead hiking, biking, and climbing trips in cool temperatures. I also took this jacket camping with me in Glacier National Park when the temperatures got down into the teens, so I was able to compare its warmth to some of my other jackets. Although it loses some of its warmth without a hood, it kept me surprisingly warm in those low temps. Overall, however, I found that the biggest positive to this jacket is the durable material! The stretchdown feels more resistant to nicks and tearing, and I can see this jacket lasting a long time. It's also a plus for me that the down is RDS certified-- yay for animal welfare! I would not bring this as my only puffy jacket when backpacking because I would need the extra warmth that a hood brings. However, this layer would be really great for climbing in moderately cool temperatures because of how durable the material would be on the rock, or as a bonus layer to stuff in a pack for a little extra warmth. I gave this jacket four stars, mostly because of the fit. I am 5' 5 '', 120lbs, and I ordered a small because I normally like to layer underneath my puffy jackets. However, a small is too big on me even with layers underneath, and it also has a boxy fit around the shoulders. I would order an XS next time for sure!

It's a flattering fit and quality of construction seems great. It's not the warmest down jacket, but that's not what I bought it for and it is great for what it is. Have n't let it get very wet, but it has handled the water associated with melting snow better than regular down

5 Mrhowcome
This jacket looks small to begin with, but Mountain Hardware has engineer a lightweight full- warmth down jacket that molds and adapts to the user's body. With a low profile, it feels very insulating without limiting the wearer's range of motion. Even though it is down, a waterproof hard shell easily fits over the StretchDown jacket assuring warmth and dryness even on the wettest days.

5 Science
I am 5 ’ 11 ”, 180 lbs with long arms and an athletic build, and Mountain Hardware is one of the only brands with sleeves that are long enough for me to wear a medium. This jacket is a little tight in the chest, but should be fine with the stretchy material. It is warm and seemingly well made. I like the slim fit because it ’s not bulky and doesn ’ t get caught up and snagged on branches etc. the way baggy jackets can and I can wear it underneath a shell.

5 elf73
I really like this jacket. I had read some views and will comment first on some of the things others did not like- giving my perspective. Then will add some things I myself found I like. This jacket is fitted, especially around the chest. I got a medium and I am 5' 7 '' 160lbs, waist is 32. I actually like this because when I wear it under a shell it is not bulky. The waist is also fitted. I would say you need a trim body type for this work well, or you have to be willing to go a larger size than usual. The hood does not have a way to adjust opening while wearing this jacket alone- other than the quick let's get some cover for some rain or wind. But, under a shell is great. The shape makes it stays in place, and the if the shell is adjustable then you are set. I would not suggest wearing this only for a downpour- must use a shell, but it does take on some moisture without a problem. In terns of temperature my experience is that without activity( e. g. standing outside) this can take the 30s well( unless is very very windy). With some activity it will keep you warm enough in the 20s. The zippers work well and find myself using the top pocket to keep my phone handy and dry. I find myself wearing this very often and is `` dressy '' enough to wear casually around town.

5 Rorob111

Warm and cozy with stretch for maximum movement! Perfect for riding a bike, playing with the kids, or heading into the office. Ordered a size up as I am tall and wanted the arms to be long enough, I would have been fine with my normal size. Great hood and hem adjustments to keep out the chill.

[ Employee of prana] This is a beautiful, classic jacket, that can be worn with just about anything. I actually got it in all 3 colors, and my favorite is the blue. It's a beautiful color, and the jacket is warm and comfortable. I will definitely hang on to these jackets, as they will never go out of style. They are well worth the money, and I am really glad that I bought them.

I was scrambling last minute to find a coat for our November trip to Grand Canyon, Zion, and Moab with lows at night in the 12- 27' F range and but also keep my not too warm during hikes between 30- 50' F. This coat was great. I had strategic layers including the Tri Thermal Threads Tunic from Prana 2020 at night. I hate being cold, and was pleased at the performance of this jacket. I even regretted not wearing it one morning on one hike. Back home in Indiana, I 'll keep wearing this until it feels more wintery. It is lightweight, truly stretchy, and breaks the wind.

5 M.J.

Great jacket. Inside is super soft, warm and cozy. Outside is stylish and water repellant. Nice to see Prana making some sporty jackets. This one looks great on the trail or out to dinner.

5 Nolan11
I love seeing Prana making some more technical clothing. This jacket is perfect; minimally sleek, warm and water resistant. The fit is form fitting but loose enough to wear a fleece layer underneath.

5 Zac
Perfect to block out the wind and light rain. It ’s a great commuter jacket when I ride my bike to work. Or it ’s nice enough to to wear out for lunch or dinner at a top restaurant.

5 Always between a M/L
I went into the store not knowing what I was looking for and stumbled across this beauty( in stores they had the Black color). I did n't know I needed something like this until I saw it. Has a nice shell material that seems like it could keep you dry with some light rain or snow, and the inside is soft and comfortable and feels like it 'll be pretty warm and perfect for shoulder season to wear out and about or even around the house. I 'm 6' 1 '' and about 165- 170, so tall and slim/athletic and I could have either gone Medium or Large but I ultimately went with Medium( although I was tempted to go Large but for insulated type jackets I like them to fit a bit more snug for warmth purposes) Differences between the M and L below: Medium: Sleeves are a perfect length for me. A bit narrower fitting. The main thing I preferred about the Large was the length.... if the Medium had the Large length it would be perfect perfect. I was also wearing a waffle knit sweater underneath and the Medium still fit great. Large: Great length. Arms a bit long. Torso and chest fit nicely but around my mid section/stomach area is where it was a bit more boxy for my liking. Went with Medium because I envision wearing this when it's not frigid out so not needing to layer up a ton underneath. A nice flannel or sweater is all I need and fits perfect under the Medium.

5
Outstanding, midweight, all- around jacket. Comfortable across a wide range of temperatures, nice soft touch, great fit. Repels at least light rain( have n't had it in a downpour yet).

Sharp, sleek and comfortable. Perfect for work or play.

5 Jagnolee
The materials are very premium, it does feel more like a suit jacket than a long sleeve shirt which gives me confidence it won ’ t pill. the jacket does have a shorter length so it does give a boxy feel which fits my body type well, but if you have a longer torso it may look like the model on the page. The pockets are very sleek and I didn ’ t even know they were there until I felt the zippers. The cuffs button from the outside so they fold in on itself if you want them to be more tight which is fine, not my preference but still like having that option. Zipper and collar is very sleek it ’s very good to be able to layer with more smarter fits or athletic pretty easily. The branding is also minimal for a Nike product with color matching on the sleeve so can pair with pretty much anything. This is going to be a go to jacket when I want to layer with it zipped down or zipped up if it is a little bit colder.

5 Lawrence950472706
I ’ ve been looking for a jacket like this for sometime. I love how it can dress up jeans, but you can wear it with sweatpants the panels and fabric allow for optimal movement and there are several ventilation holes in the armpits. The two- way zipper is fantastic and there ’s a little loop under the collar for hanging although it ’s a very small loop and doesn ’ t fit any of my hooks. I have it in two colors and love it. It is definitely short in the body and roomy and the sleeves are proportionately a little longer than I would like the cinching snaps help, but they are still long. I normally wear a medium, but a small fits perfectly. It provides very little warmth, but that ’s not really what I ’ m looking for.

[ I absolutely love the Nike One Dri- FIT Fitted Jacket! The full zip- up design is super convenient, and the snug, fitted style really flatters my figure — it pulls everything in and gives a slim, sleek look. The Dri- FIT technology is a game changer, keeping me dry and comfortable even during longer runs. The midweight fabric is soft, stretchy, and moves with me, making it perfect for chilly North Carolina mornings and mild afternoons. I got it in black, which goes with everything! I love pairing it with black Nike leggings and my Pegasus running shoes for workouts, or dressing it up with high tops for a sporty- casual vibe. It does run a bit snug, so I ’ d recommend sizing up if you ’ re between sizes. I ’ m already planning to grab this jacket in more colors if they ’ re available — it's that good!

5 NikeSwimShirt
[ The material of this jacket is really nice. It feels high- quality, smooth, and supportive. I especially appreciate the structure and fit because my bust is on the larger side, and it provided excellent support without feeling restrictive. It ’s easy to move around in, which makes it perfect for workouts or running errands. If I could change one thing, it would be the sleeve design. It would be great if they had thumb holes or were slightly shorter. The sleeves run a bit longer than usual, but that might actually work perfectly for someone taller. For me, it ’s not a dealbreaker at all… just a small preference. Overall, it ’s a very comfortable and versatile jacket. I can wear it while working out, going for a walk, or even just out and about. It ’s insulated enough to keep you comfortable, but it ’s not heavy or overly warm, it doesn ’ t make you feel hot or sweaty. Definitely would purchase this in every available color!

5 Miguel
[ I absolutely loved this jacket. The materials felt so soft and smooth and stretched nicely. I wore this jacket everywhere, the gym, out shopping, and everywhere I went I kept getting complimented on this jacket. The only knock I have is that this jacket does run a bit small so I recommend going up a size. Overall I definitely would recommend this jacket as a nice everyday piece that you can throw on with multiple outfits and be stylish everyday piece single time!

5 SoleWoman
[ I grabbed the Nike One DriFit Fitted Jacket in black, size Large, and honestly — it ’s exactly what I was hoping for. First off, the inside is super soft. Like, surprisingly soft. It ’s got this smooth, cozy lining that feels great whether you ’ re wearing it over a t- shirt or layering up. Definitely not scratchy or stiff like some performance jackets. Fit- wise, it ’s snug. Not in a bad way — just very fitted. If you ’ re used to looser jackets, this might catch you off guard at first. But it ’s got a nice stretch to it, so even though it hugs your body, it doesn ’ t feel restrictive. I ’ ve worn it on runs and while doing some outdoor workouts, and it never rode up or shifted around. It stays put, which is huge when you ’ re moving a lot. What really impressed me was how warm it is. I ’ ve worn it with just a t- shirt underneath in weather under 50°F, and I was totally fine. It keeps you warm but doesn ’ t make you overheat, which makes it perfect as a base layer. Whether you ’ re running, hiking, or just out for a walk, it does the job without feeling like overkill. Honestly, I wouldn ’ t change a thing. It looks sleek, feels great, performs well, and fits like it was made for movement. If you ’ re looking for something to keep you warm and comfortable without the bulk, this jacket ’s a winner.

5 Mia
[ I like this jacket a lot! It ’s definitely fitted but it makes for a great layering piece under a vest or under another long sleeve layer. I have been wearing it for walks outside over a tank top and it ’s been very comfy and a nice soft workout material. It ’s also been keeping me nice and cozy on walks. I think it would also be good for runs, as since it ’s so fitted there ’s nothing to get in the way of movement. The design is nice because it ’s just the swoosh on the chest so it ’s very lowkey. There are no pockets or thumb holes though so that is something to consider. But the sleeves are stretchy and can be pushed up but are longer to cover the hands a bit. Overall I like how sleek and simple this design is and that it matches all of my workout gear! It ’s super comfy and stretchy and I think it ’s a great layering piece.

[ The fit and feel of the jacket was great. It did not run small and although it might look a bit crop the length was very good. The fit was great and the sleeves were not to big and I really liked how the bands stuck to the wrist. The design was simple and I like it that way. The practicality of the pockets and the hood on the jacket was something I really enjoyed. I like the logo placement and the overall look of the jacket was complimented when I took it to Pilates. The fabric was nice and not too heavy. It does not feel cheap and I liked how it was not an overly heavy jacket yet it kept me warm and a good after a workout jacket for those early mornings or warm up sessions. I like the versatility of the jacket. I can use it to take it to my Pilates class or throw it on during errands on the weekend.

[ This jacket is perfect for everyday wear. The loose and lightweight fabric make it great for running and easy to transition into any outfit. The back of the jacket is vented too, which I love because it keeps you comfortable during your workout. This jacket is not only great for exercise but it looks great with casual outfits too, adding a sporty athleasure feel. Definitely one of my favorite pieces

[ I ’ ve worn this jacket a few times when I run errands early in the morning when it ’s a little brisk outside or when I go for an early morning workout and it ’s been one of my favorite items of clothing to put on. I love how comfortable and lightweight the material is. It ’s not too tight or form fitting, it has a slightly oversized feel to it but it still fits true to size and I love it. It looks stylish and I can ’ t wait to wear it more in the fall. I would definitely buy more colors in this jacket.

[ This jacket is very lightweight and very comfortable! Since it is a windbreaker, it is “ thin ”, but it ’s not too thin that it doesn ’ t help protect against cold air. I ’ ve worn it multiple times, in a very cool environment, and I ’ ve been fine. The fit is also true to size, and I ’ m sure that helps with the temperament adjustment. This will definitely be apart of my weekly rotation.

[ When I first got the jacket I was excited for the styling and drifit. After having for an about 2 weeks I can say that I absolutely love this jacket. I used it for running and just everyday wear. The material is great and super easy to clean. The sizing is not too tight or loose. I ’ ve washed it multiple times and still looks brand new. Overall, the jacket is great! Comfortable and great fitting.

Fitted stretch jackets are typically made from a blend of synthetic materials that provide elasticity and durability.
