Chet( my best pal and shop foreman) is a powerhouse. After his anchor was upgraded to a 5/8 '' x24 '' rod, and his rope to a 550# dock rope, he destroyed his cheaper harness. This one has held up. Also fits perfectly over his chore coat.

[ My old harness was embarrassingly old last year on Mount Rainier. Upgraded this year to the Petzl harness. Much, much better. Super light, easy to manipulate( even with frozen fingers), packs down small for the hike in.

[ I 've owned one of these for a year and used several times for glacier travel in the Cascades, including a mountaineering course on Mt. Baker during which I was suspended in a crevasse with this harness for 15 to 20 minutes while others were learning how to haul me out. Despite it being so light, it's actually surprisingly comfortable due to the fairly wide, flat leg loops. It's also very easy to get on and off while wearing crampons or skis, which is essential for an alpine harness.
5

[ This is a simple, easy to use harness. I am 220 5'- 10 and the M/L fits over my ski clothes just fine. It is very comfy while using and seems to be very well made.

[ I bought this harness a month ago so that I have an extra to take friends climbing who do n't have their own gear. The harness is simple and easy to use but comfortable for an alpine bod. I bought it in a small and the size range is a bit more narrow than I expected but it still works. I made a 6' 1 '' friend squeeze into it. He complained a bit but it got the job done. Overall, a great harness to have around.

for how little it cost it truly is a wonderful harness, very comfortable secure fit and the gear loops have a good secure feeling to them

Love this thing! This one fits the bill for me, it ’s comfy but not too clunky, in the day where most harnesses are turning into G- strings I really appreciate something with a little more padding and just as flexible. My legs change sizes throughout the year depending on the activity I ’ m concentrating on so it ’s nice that the leg loops are adjustable. If the gear loops where a little bigger or there was a third one it would be perfect for big trad climbs, but I pretty much use it for sport climbing.
5
My first harness was a Mammut back in 2006 and after a long break from climbing I started back at the gym. Went with a brand I trusted and had history with but this is way more comfortable than what I used to have. I know it's not an apples and oranges and comparing the two is n't fair but I 'm pretty spoiled with the wide waist belt on this harness. I got the XL and the waits is great but wish there was just a touch more adjustment to tighten the legs but it still feels fine. I 'm currently only hooking to auto belays at the gym and it's a pleasant ride back down. A few unexpected falls as well and it's been flawless.

This harness is comfortable for a full day in the alpine. I spent 16+ hours wearing this harness scrambling, alpine trad climbing, rappelling, and doing some sketchy snow crossings. While a bit heavier than some of the Petzl options it ’s 100% worth it for the comfort.

James B
I bought this harness because I wanted a low weight, compact harness for mountain guiding and glacier travel. It worked perfectly and was super comfortable to wear while traversing the glacier even with my backpack on. Also, in general it is a really comfortable harness to wear for top rope and gym lead. I have n't used it for sport or trad yet, but I 'll update when I have.
5
I originally got this harness for ice climbing as it has 6 different ice tool clipper spots( on both sides, 12 total) of the waist. This allowed me to put my ice tool clippers exactly where I wanted them versus where they have to be on other harnesses. It is very lightweight with functional gear loops. I recently took it alpine climbing and it felt awesome having it on all day, even through the more scrambly areas of the climb. Would highly recommend especially for women that have a bigger chest or hips and need to put ice tool clippers in specific spots in order to see them. I have a Large which works great with winter layers but I could have also fit a medium. I am 5' 6 '' and 170 lbs.
5
Somehow this harness has less padding and is lighter weight than the Ophir slide or the black diamond momentum harness, but is actually more comfortable when sitting in it for a long time. I 'd highly recommend if you have a bit more money to throw in for a harness that you want to be lightweight and still comfy. Fits true to size.
5
Amazin harness which is surprisingly comfortable and does not consume any space in the backpack. I am using it for trad climbing. I climb with 14 cams, 12 slings, and three sets of nuts/tricams. I also carry cordlette, belay device and bunch of lockers. All these can be comfortably clipped to the harness. The front gear loops are bigger and the gear is easy to unclip/clip. I use the front gear loops for cams and draws. The rear loops I use for nuts, lockers and belay devices. The harness has also a small gear loop at the rear in the middle. I use this for the nut tool and sometimes the radio. The harness feels good on my body and I do n't even feel it while climbing. The only little thing I found is the seem in front without any padding pushing against my bones. I did not experience it with my previous harness ocun Ego. Anyway, it is not too annoying and I might get used to it very soon.

[ I bought this a couple months ago and so far it ’s the most comfortable harness I ’ ve tried. I upgraded from the Petzl Corax and this is far more comfortable, and the build quality is incredible. [ If you 're looking for a high quality comfortable harness for all around rope climbing, look no further. Misty makes the best harnesses around, and this thing will last you a lifetime.
5
[ I ’ ll be honest. I live in NC and I buy Misty Mountain gear by default because they ’ re local. That being said, when it was time to replace my MM Turbo, I really didn ’ t consider another harness. The Turbo is light and comfortable enough for hanging all over a sport project, and has ample gear loops for long trad days. For me, it ’s a great all around harness. I will say, I don ’ t love the new color scheme, but what do I know about fashion anyway. I know this harness is comfy, functional, lightweight, and it ’ ll catch you if you fall.

[ I bought this to replace a light rock climbing harness I had been using for home maintenance safety( tree and rooftop work). I have already used it for some tree climbing using a Petzl Zigzag combined with knee and foot ascenders and it did the job admirably for its price point( i. e. [ This harness is extremely comfortable, and flattering( as far as harnesses go). I like the moveable waist belt that allows the belay loop to always remain centered on your body. This is my favorite harness that I ’ ve ever owned. The reason why is because it ’s so light and compact, I never question whether or not I want to have a harness with me. I just toss it in the pack, and it disappears. When I need it, I ’ ve got it. I love how it can disappear under the hipbelt of a pack. Something that frequently irritates me with other harnesses while climbing and skiing. The packbelt, and harness are fighting for the same space and the pack ends up losing and riding up on my torso. When I ’ m not wearing a pack with a big belt, this harness has nice, but minimal gear loops that can hold my crevasse rescue, rappel, and other climbing gear( as long as I keep it to a minimum or rack in trees off of my carabiners.) For anyone who is considering purchasing this harness but is concerned that it may be too specialized, I would suggest that it ’s much more versatile than you might initially think. I ’ ve used the Choucas Light for alpine routes, rappels while skiing, ice climbing, summer scrambles that get a little too technical, self- evacuation from chairlifts while ski patrolling, and even glacier travel( which was probably its original intent).

[ A friend of mine had a misty mountain harness and always raved of how great it was. My cheap petzl harness was almost falling apart from the chimneys and crystalline granite I had made it subject to, so I decided to upgrade. The Cadillac is great, definitely comfy enough for all day climbing and makes the hanging belay while my partner flails on that 5. 8 offwidth so much more survivable. I also don ’ t mind the extra weight versus some other harnesses, it still feels sleek and works great for hard cracks in the creek.

Great harness with a wide range of fit! I am on the larger size of humans, and this harness fits great! I needed a new chest harness for Single Rope Technique in vertical caving. I was looking at more traditional chest harnesses for SRT, but when I saw this one from Black Diamond, the additional gear attachments points and ease of adjustability drew my attention. I was skeptical to give it a shot, but decided to try it. I am happy to say this is my new favorite chest harness!! Super comfortable and adjustable. Love the added gear loops for radios, etc. Having a more secure and convenient radio attachment point will hopefully prevent radio# 3 from taking a 125+ plunge down a pit.

How people rack their gear is a very personal thing. That said, if you are going to rack with a shoulder sling this is definitely a great one to choose. It distributes weight evenly around you torso and allows you to easily organize the gear so it is accessible. Thanks BD for a great product.

[ I have had this for a couple months. Wearing it is comfortable, and the gear loops work well. I really like having two belay loops too. It is uncomfortable to hang in for long periods of time, and because part of the waist band is not stitched to the tightening strap, it can be a little annoying to get on just right. For trad climbing or multipitching without hanging belays, it's great. It just wo n't replace a sport climbing harness.
4
moutaingoat333
[ I really like my Metolius Harness and that basically everything on this harness is a hard point. The waist buckle is an update from their old double back buckles( they are still on the leg loops which make adjustment a little tenuous) which is bomber. Contrary to many waist buckles, this one latches down on the nylon strap when it is tightened inhibiting any accidental openings of the waist strap. I think this is an improvement in speed of putting on the harness over the old double back buckles that you had to feed through each for adjustment. The foam padding is concentrated which could make long hanging belays a little uncomfortable.

[ I wanted my new harness to have a waist and leg loops that could be opened completely so I can put it on when wearing crampons, skis, or do n't feel like standing on one foot while putting it on. I was pleased that the gear lops and the ice clippers I added are lined up evenly on both sides when the waist is adjusted.( I have a 32 inch waist and got the large harness because the leg loop size matched my leg measurements.) It's light and does n't take up much space in my pack.

[ Bought this to use primarily as a gym harness. It's nice and light, very comfy and does more than what I am asking it to do so far. It does seem to run a little small.

[ I have been climbing for 30 years in total and in various iterations of this harness for a long time now. It ticks all of the boxes in terms of function, fit, and durability, and especially price. One of the things that I like most about it are the gear loops. A lot of brands put their loops too low on the harness in my opinion, which causes gear to hang down around your lower leg. I prefer things to sit higher so that everything is tighter to my body when I move. The harness trad climbs and sport climbs equally well. The only downside to it is the weight being a little on the heavy side. I prefer a 32 inch waist in pants and wear a size medium in this harness, which puts me at the bottom end of the fit and allows me to cinch the waist within a cm of all the way down. This puts the gear loops more towards the front. When you look at the size range for a harness, always make sure to consider that the measurement will be smaller than your waist size because you wear it above your hips.

[ I work at a university gym and am constantly giving long catches to new climbers who take tons of falls. This harness is a solid gym contender with great belay comfort and has the perfect amount of storage for multiple belay devices, a PAS, and extra carabiners and slings. If you ’ re looking for a no frills do all harness this is it.

[ This harness is simple but effective. No frills, only what you need. The leg straps do n't need to be tightened since all you really need to stay safe is a tight hip harness, so it makes it really comfy to put on.

[ I 've had a couple of Petzl SAMA harnesses that each lasted for years. The indoor/gym harness in particular stayed so fresh that people asked if it was a new harness for a couple years after purchase. But it was really the fit( with just a little padding), foolproof elastic leg loops, and bomber durability that brought me back for the 3rd time. The only real differences with the current version is that it looks better than ever. The heather gray is understated and contemporary- it 'll accent your insanely bright puffer or shoes. Will definitely buy again.

[ I purchased the this a couple months ago, and it has been great! I have had no problems with it whatsoever. I was a little worried about the part where the harness connects to the rope, but it has seemed stable ever since it arrived.

[ My family goes climbing indoors quite often. Both of my daughters outgrew our child size harness that they were sharing and I was looking for a new one. This is on the smallest setting for both of them so they will have a lot of time with it. I know it will get used often and have no concerns about their safety on the wall.

[ I used this harness outdoor climbing and have no complaints with it. Everything worked great, and it was comfortable when I had to take breaks from climbing. The gear loops are places well for accessibility as well.

[ This is my second Camp Energy as the first one which I 've had for about 8 years was starting to get a bit ratty. It is very adjustable, super comfy,( I just hung in mine for about an hour photographing some friends), feather- light and has all the features you would ever need for sport and trad climbing. It does not have ice clipper slots and only has 4 gear loops but easily holds a large rack of cams and a dozen draws. Do not be fooled by the low price. This is a first rate harness.
