This bag is great and a level up from a duffle bag I ’ ve been using for years from another brand. I love all the pockets and how everything stays organized. My friend has the same style bag but the smaller version, we both have experienced a hitch on the zipper on the top right side of the bag. It must be close to where some strong seams come together on the inside of the bag, it makes it difficult to open/close in that one spot every time- even if the pack isn ’ t super full. That is my only complaint, and it ’s just a small design flaw, otherwise a great bag.

So first of all this thing feels very well made. Sturdy hinges, closures and overall construction. I love the removable divider and the modular nature of the straps and the rest of the transporter accessories. The handle is slick and comfortable. The plastic shell seems very sturdy and scratch resistant. It is very weather proof as well. I had to chuck it in the back of a pickup during a torrential downpour while traveling in the Philippines on a recent trip. Everything stayed perfectly dry! But... The wheels are not good. They are oversized and seemingly well engineered with billet aluminum hardware. But they pull over the place on carpet causing the bag to wander erratically. But that would be something I could deal with as other than having constantly having to keep it rolling straight, they feel smooth and roll quietly. But when rolling on smoother surfaces the wheels chatter and vibrate like a beat up old shopping cart. I hope this issue is fixed for future versions because it's an awesome piece of luggage otherwise!

However, the soft plastic front did get scratched the first week of use so it may get prematurely worn. The only other detraction is the angled handle makes it difficult to slide on a computer bag. We absolutely love this bag as our personal item( as long as it's not overstuffed, it fits easily under the seat) to bring our toddler's plane snacks, toys, tablet, and other travel essentials along with a smattering of items we want to keep on us instead of checking through. The water bottle holders are fantastic and fit a regular nalgene perfectly. For trips without the toddler, it makes a fantastic one- bag option for light travel. And we 're finding that we go to it for non- airplane travel too( taking snacks, raincoats, umbrellas, change of clothes, and subway activities on local rainy- day excursions).

This is a great pack for both car and airline travel. I pack smart with packing compressors packing cubes but I wouldn ’ t say I pack light and I had plenty of space. The waist belt allows me to comfortably carry this pack through the airport. The straps stow easily and it fits in the overhead bin.
