On roadtrips I use it to make quick coffee every morning and in the winter time I ’ m boiling water for ramen noodles in the ski resort parking lot. It is a little bulky for backpacking but I have brought it along a few times. For backpacking I would bring along a more compact and versatile stove. I end up using it in random situations like long hikes, days out playing in the snow, and car camping trips. After about a year of heavy use it wobbles a bit on the fuel canister and the sparker is inconsistent which can be solved by bringing a lighter. Would highly recommended for anyone who spends time outside and loves coffee.

Bought these for a multi day trip with gravel bar overnights on the Current River. In the past used the basic stakes that came with my tent with less than optimal results. These hammer in the gravel, rocks and sand very easily, with a twisting motion as they anchor. Held the tent and rain fly extremely well and removal was no fuss in the morning.

I work as a ski instructor at local ski hill. I 've been using the Camelbak Bootlegger pack 4 days a week for a couple of seasons. Occasionally, on really cold days, water may freeze in the bite valve, but have n't had a problem with getting it flowing again. Water has never frozen in insulated tube. Good product!
