How hard should it be to find a comfortable outdoor chair that does n't cost a fortune. Well, it is hard and although these chairs are not aluminum, they fit the bill. We found these chairs several places online after seeing them in a store and Dicks was the best price. The chairs have a high back for good support, are slightly tilted backward for comfort and are nice to sit in. Wish they were a tad lighter in weight but they are sturdy and should do well for what we need( use to sit outside of our RV when traveling). Very pleased with the purchase so far.

The GCI Outdoor Roadtrip Rocker is an excellent chair that sits on the fence between an `` A '' or a `` B ''. Just a couple extra credit assignments and it firmly passes with straight A's. This chair is very comfortable and does a surprisingly good job as a rocking chair. The back is tall enough to lean back and feel supported. It is wide enough be bundled up in blankets and still have room. There are two things I 'd like have changed slightly. If you are sitting up to a table, or even just forward on the chair it is a bit too relaxed. Lastly, be prepared for a fairly large item when folded. Getting all this comfort into a bag poses a big challenge. Well done GCI!

[ My husband and I just took these chairs on a five day canoe trip. They easily strapped under the stern seat for long portages and were balanced easily with a stuff sack under the bow seat. They set up in about a minute once you get used to the process and are so comfortable. If it was colder I would line the ventilated seats and backs with a blanket. They are tippy until you get used to them but it ’s not a big deal since you ’ re so close to the ground; also, all lightweight camp chairs are tippy. [ I am not a dedicated lightweight backpacker. I have carried many of heavy loads. However, I am planning on hiking the Long Trail in Vermont. I am trying to lighten my load. One thing that is a must in my pack is a chair. I used to always take a Crazy Creek chair, but they don ’ t pack up very small. That is where this chair shines! Not only is it lightweight, it packs up incredibly small. It also gets me off the ground a little bit! Best yet is that despite its lightweight features, it is VERY sturdy! [ Very nice and durable chair love how easy it is to fold by lifting one side and carry around with its build in holder. has a cup holder on the side for your drink. The front edge of the chair folds so it ’s easier on your legs if you ’ re sitting down for a good amount of time. The key feature of the chair is the shocks and boy does it make a difference, you feel like your sitting on top of a bouncy ball but with the side and back support of a lawn chair. Chair is so soft I fell asleep on it on how comfortable it is.

I bought two of these and keep thinking about buying more. I use this chair most frequently at dispersed campgrounds where I want to be able to quickly take items in while I 'm away from the site. I got a second one because it's so compact and easy to have on hand for friends who do n't have as much camping gear. More often than not, I 'm wishing that I had another one or two because people always seem to underestimate how nice it is to bring chairs camping and they co- opt my seat when I get up. Several friends have bought this chair after using my extra one. The convenience factor really grows on people by the second time we camp together. They want their own to toss in their camping gear bins. You do n't have to remember about packing a more luxurious chair that does n't even fit in the bin and then it taking up more space in the trunk. It's not the most cushioned chair in the world, but its still a good one to add to the arsenal. The points to attach the seat to the frame are very stiff for the first dozen or so uses, but it gets more pliable in time without becoming so pliable that it's concerning.

I have both the standard model and this one, the improvements on this one are great. I ’ m 6 ’ 2 ” 230 and I think the picture of the gentleman in the photos section does a great job of setting expectations, bigger people won ’ t really be sitting, more lounging. For something the size of my water bottle I ’ m pleased with the comfort. I love not needing to carry the extra case for this model. With both this and the other one wind is an issue. Being this light the back is a sail when you get off of it so it can be concerning if you ’ re sitting near a fire or water. I prefer this model because you can set your water bottle on the base and not worry about losing the chair if it ’s breezy.

It is very comfortable and typically is the first chair taken for a seat at camp. I didn ’ t realize how much I love having a higher back to my chair! It does take more time to assemble than a standard folding camp chair. The trade off of longer set up time( maybe 60 seconds more) is well worth the compactness when broken down, lightweight, quality of build, and over all comfort.
