Many of the mud races I run are covered with folks rubbing down their calves and cramping up. I can honestly say I have never had a calf related problem. I had a badly bruised and swollen elbow. The Dr recommended a sleeve to wear. The clinic did n't have any on hand so I had to track one down. It's super comfortable compared to the PTEX one I tried on. It was kind of confusing to figure out which way it goes on. I just went off of the pictures on the box the best I could. It does have verbal instructions on how to put it on, on the inside of the box, but I was n't ambitious enough to figure out what medical term they used to describe how to wear it.
