These snowshoes make for a safe outdoor activity that is both kid and parent approved. The snowshoes themselves are very sturdy and light weight. There are some sharp metal grips underneath that you have to be careful with, but they will give you excellent traction in icy conditions or going up hills. This is a great winter sled option for older kids. We bought it last year for my twelve year old but really all of us took turns using it. Even my husband who is 5 ’ 10 ” and 180 pounds had fun using it. This year my son is 4 ’ 11 ” and 85 pounds and it is his favorite outdoor winter “ toy ”.
