Great socks for hiking and running. It's a wool blend so that 'll help with comfort, cushioning and drying. One thing to note is I ordered a size L on the website where the expectation would be that it would be a size 8- 12. The item received is sized 10- 11. 5, so if you are on the extreme ends of the expected range, the sock may not fit appropriately for you. Thankfully for me, it fits fine for my size 12 foot. I would not mind picking up additional pairs!

I purchased these socks primarily for a family hiking trip to Yosemite, Death Valley, Mono Lake, BigSur. I was hoping that they would hold up to varying terrain, to varying heat, to varying altitude and to varying needs. Getting wet in the streams, and dry in the salt flats. They were great! They fit snugly, they did NOT cause over- heating. No blisters, nothing. Just support and enjoyment. Clean up is a snap- just toss them in the wash and dryer. In Death Valley, they `` line dry '' outside your cabin in an hour! C'mon!
