[ I am really happy with this ceiling rack. As I observed from other reviews on the internet, the installation time is mostly in making your ceiling tracks parallel in the right position to hit wood joists behind your drywall. I used more sturdy GRK hardware for mounting to the ceiling. After the tracks are up, installation is a breeze. My bikes have been up for 2 weeks ans I just ordered the two bike expansion for our Thule jogging stroller, too. Although the “ e ” clip hardware is not all that common, it seems plenty study for our two aluminum mountain bikes. It is pricey but overall the convenience is worth it, to me. If I was to install over again, I would put the tracks slightly closer to the walls in both directions. The instructions were a little generous on that guidance. As you can see in my photos, plenty of space to move your bikes if the tracks are too close to the wall. Ultimately i would mount as close to the wall as you can while still lining the holes/slots in the tracks up to your ceiling joists

This is the perfect bike rack. Pricey, yes - - but you get what you pay for. Not saying that as a cliche but as coming from someone who made an expensive mistake buying a rack made by another highly reputable brand. It did n't even last a year and half before one of the arms( that pushes against a wheel to hold the bike onto the rack[ hydraulic piston - based]) getting stuck and pieces of metal breaking off, rendering the rack unusable. The Epos 2 ratcheting system is so much easier and no less secure. It's relatively light weight and so very easy to put on and take off from my hitch. I love how it folds up like a suitcase and is a breeze move to where I store it in my garage using its wheels. The telescoping arms with a lockable rotating ratcheting mechanism and steel - reinforced straps are very easy to use on the bike frame to securely hold the bike with confidence. The straps ratcheted to both wheels also work great. I also love the integrated signal lights and lighted license plate holder. I could n't be happier.

Happy with my purchase. Unit is not as long as I thought it was. Checked to make sure before purchasing as I have a very long wheelbase e - bike. Would have liked to see tire guides a little higher to prevent the front wheel twisting once it is strapped down. Problem solved by making sure the front wheel axle doesn ’ t protrude past the end of the guide rails. Once you realize there is an order to strapping your bike down the unit works well and holds the bike in a very stable position. I really like the locks on the upright top tube clamps as it makes it extremely difficult for someone to remove the bike from the rack and you don ’ t have to fiddle with pulling out cable locks. Like that the top tube clamps are telescopic; much superior to the Easy Fold rack, with fixed clamps that made carrying two bikes a massive headache. Also really like the lights and license plate position, although it does take a little while to realize your vehicle is a couple of feet longer than it was. No more tickets for having a covered license plate. Bikes are easy to load and rack carries two heavy e - bikes in a stable manner. Recommended.

Originally I purchased the traditional car bike rack but with having two mountain bikes the fit was just two tight and the bikes were are odd angles. I returned it to Dicks with no issues and purchased this one. It took a few minutes to setup but for the most part it is pretty straightforward. The rack is not to heavy and works very well. It is not a heavy duty as the original bike rack I returned but I suspect it will hold up just fine. If I was to pick out any weak points it would be the plastic adjustment knobs other than it should be fine.
