[ I bought 2 originally and honestly am in the process of buying 4 similar hats as I 've had a very difficult time finding a well fitting hat that can hold up to the rigor of normal wear and tear. I wear one for work where my hat has a mountain ridge line of sweat going across it. It has n't warped and the elastic bands still fit snug to my head without the usual looseness that happens after hats get wet or are worn too much in activities that have excessive movements involved. It's also held up after being doused in rain storms. I do n't collect hats or consider them fashion statements and use them for their intended function of providing some shade from the sun and also doubling as a sweat band. The fit is also great.

Husband has a similar hat, but it's black and grey with the flag made of fishes; he saw someone with the exact same colors but tree version and said he liked it. Hopped on Columbia's site to investigate. We chose this black and grey version with the color fade to `` change it up '' and add `` a little more color '' to his wardrobe( in his words... lol). My kids and I love our hats for a couple of reasons. First, they are so light that we do n't feel like we are even wearing a hat that gives great sun coverage, but we are! Second, my kids are able to get great sun coverage with comfort. In the past most of the hats they wore had brims in the back too. Been wearing this hat hiking in the desert for probably five years. Wo n't hit the trail without it. Wicks away sweat very well and is very cool. I have washed this hat literally dozens of times which is why it does n't seem to have the SPF factor it once had. been getting sunburned on my head lately. So, after five years I am buying the same hat again! BTW, I bought two hats. One medium, one large. At 7 1/8 '' hat size the medium was too small. Would n't change a thing.

I love wearing this hat. I am a letter carrier and have a walking route so I use it for head/face protection. I have washed it a few times and dried it in accordance with the instructions each time. The last time I washed it and was drying it by way of the instructions but I got a little inpatient and decided to throw it in the dryer with air dry. I could not believe it but it still shrunk. So my next one will be dried by there recommendation.

Best hat I ever had. Wife says it looks great. I did have to size up 1/4( from 7- 3/8 to 7- 5/8) since these hats are size specific and tend to run a tad small. Unless you have purchased Tilley previously, you should go into a store to try it on.
