Very impressed with the quality of leather of this this mitt at the price point. Will easily hold over my 9 year old until he is large enough for a A2000 or HoH glove. You will have to help your child break this glove in and if you have never broken in a glove before than this will be a learning experience for you with patience. Do not buy this glove and expect it game ready within a short period. Use the warm water technique and follow it up with glove oil, mallet, and tons of catch before it is game ready( don ’ t steam it). Once broken in properly, the ball just floats into the pocket and closes itself.
