The XS is a perfect fit on my daughter in law who is about 5 3 ” and slim, athletic build. She wore these on a recent trip north as the temperatures were low. Great mid weight cargo pant that can be dressed up or down. These are so easy to throw on to run errands and look put together. But if worn with a sweater or jacket you can totally get away with wearing them at the office too. I ’ d say they run slightly small though. If you want a more relaxed fit, size up. I am just loving everything I 've gotten from the Calia brand! I 'm also loving that I can get beautiful jackets and pants in the same color to make up a set, and that there are several different styles of pants to choose from. Every now and then the sizing is off on some things, and often the jackets run a size large, but I do n't really care what's printed on the label once I get the size that fits! My waist is 30 '' and hips 37 '', and the medium fits perfectly. I 'm only 5' 4 '', and the length is just fine so I did n't have to hem them like some that sag too much over the cuff. Anyway, all the Calia sets I 've bought just look lush and expensive, and continue looking new with gentle washing and hanging to air dry. I do have to use a steamer after the first wash to remove the packing fold lines, but only that one time. I just ca n't say enough about how beautiful these pants( and matching jacket!) are, esp since I 'm a 62 yr old athletic woman who wants grown- up casual wear that still suits my lifestyle. Highly recommended!

Love these so much. I wear a 4 in most jeans, 5 ’ 2 ”, 135lbs. I got a small and they are perfect. They aren ’ t skin tight but aren ’ t super loose either. My butt looks AMAZING in them and I done have a very big butt. I ’ m definitely buying another pair and wish they ’ d make more colors.
