If you are a minimalist and like to travel internationally this is your pack! I took this pack across the the pedestrian in Tijuana, Mexico. I previously tried the Osprey Fairview on the same trip but the metal frame was extremely uncomfortable. I tried the smaller version this back and found it much more comfortable. This pack does shine when it's used with packing cubes. Not only does it make travel easier but it makes everything easier to find. The zip off top pack made things much easier as it was one less thing to lose as it was attached to the pack. I took it everywhere with me and left the larger pack at home. The built in zipper and pockets made things easier when finding things like my sunglasses, passport, meds, sunscreen, etc. The pocket with the water was a match made in heaven as it was hot and allowed me to carry water and refill when I was able to. On the way back I was still able to pack additional food items that I purchase on to the pack. This is where the hip belt shined and helped transfer the weight off of my back onto my hips. Loved it so much that I am planning on replacing my husband's pack with this one once it gives up the ghost. Overall money well spent!

I love this bag. It has so many pockets, features, hidden compartments. The detachable fanny is great for day trips and fits my iPad! The color is stunning too. I will be using this bag for the next 20 years

Bought this for a one month, one bag trip to Thailand. Plenty of space and full of thoughtful ideas to make the most of it. I ’ m 6 ’ 8 ” and was still able to adjust this bag to my comfort. I think are a few opportunities for improvement. 1. Since this bag uses a large central compartment like a duffel bag, it would be nice to straps to hold stuff in place. I didn ’ t think it was a big deal when those were left off the latest allpa models, because at least those have enough pockets and zippers to organize. But it would have been useful in this design. 2. The Sling bag doesn ’ t lay flat and feels a bit awkward. The way the straps are attached, it feels like a Fanny pack. But this bag feels too large to wear it that way. What ’s puzzling is that Cotopaxi makes separate 8L sling bags and all of those have strap points that make more sense. Overall excellent backpack.

As world travelers, my wife and I recently purchased the Allpa 50L adventure bags to replace our E- bags and roll on luggage. We seldom check bags when we travel and when we saw the two- in- one design with the detachable sling bag, now we can carry just one bag wherever we go. The no frills look lightens it up and cotopaxi ’s waterproof fabric compliments the look so we don ’ t have to worry about rain getting to and from our destinations. It is our go- to bag for weekend to weeks- long trips. If asked what I would change, I would only add in a few attachment points to the exterior for one or two D- rings or carabiners for hanging a wet pair of shoes, jacket, or to dry a shirt as we traveled. Otherwise, the Allpa 50L is a win!! Happy travels!
