Reviewing this from the POV of an end user& tech fabric geek. Love the materials of the MH AirMesh. Already have the hoody; just bought the crew. Agree w/ those who say it's very warm when at standstill or w/ a wind layer over top, yet while moving or with wind and no wind layer it's like being naked. To me that says the fabric is functioning precisely how a base layer shoulder. Only con is hypothetical: delicate fabric. I 've had no issues with snags, pilling, abrasion, etc. But I would n't be surprised were I to, given the softness of the fibers and the openness of the fabric they 're arranged into. Cut/fit are unremarkable w/ exception of the somewhat high neck hole and the different accent fabric used there. Packs tiny, resilient fibers bounce back into shape immediately. Most comparable to the Patagonia Cap Air wool base layer, minus the itchiness/roughness and the ultra premium price point. Also, like Polartec Power Stretch pro, but much lighter and more airy fabric, fwiw.

In the first image, it is very light and breathable, but the fibers inside seem to be easily lost, and there are some fibers in the hand after a little scratch. I am 167cm tall and my bust is 98cm, so I wear a size M which is very comfortable. I bought 2 at the same time, for me it should be good for sweating a lot without losing warmth. I tried wearing it the other way around and it was a different feeling, like a normal sweatshirt. A very special piece of clothing, worth trying. That said- I 've hiked in 15- 20F with wind and just this base and a heavy shell no problem. Note: It's very `` roomy ''. Great for me, but if you 're a bean pole you may be swimming in it- think about that when selecting sizes.

My cooper colored Summit Grid has become my go- to mid- layer for colder days. The fit is roomy enough to wear over a base layer, and snug enough to wear under a parka or light- weight down. Feels nice and unrestrictive to climb in, and soooo comfortable. I do n't leave home without it!

Got this at the start of ski season and won ’ t stop taking it everywhere! Perfect layer to have when things get chilly and there ’s still more uphill. Wicks and stays dry

[ This is a great option if you would like a grid fleece hoodie that is actually in stock and the company is willing to sell to you without any games, lotteries or having to travel across the country to buy. It is warm, well constructed, and you do n't have to jump through hoops to get it

[ I bought this about 3 weeks ago and it was just what I wanted especially for the wilderness canoe camping trips to Ontario, Canada I take. It's very warm, warmer than I expected for so light a garment. Having the 1/2 zip neck is perfect to adapt to wind or temperature. My only suggestion to improve this hoodie is zip closures on the kangaroo pouch sides. I just would n't want to lose something stored in there. Gret item, glad I bought!

[ I do n't like the bulk of a cotton hoody and was hoping this would fit the bill! It sure did. Mountain Hardwear makes quality gear and this is good for a casual office day, a hike on a crisp day, or a flight to your next adventure.
