Originally I purchased the traditional car bike rack but with having two mountain bikes the fit was just two tight and the bikes were are odd angles. I returned it to Dicks with no issues and purchased this one. It took a few minutes to setup but for the most part it is pretty straightforward. The rack is not to heavy and works very well. It is not a heavy duty as the original bike rack I returned but I suspect it will hold up just fine. If I was to pick out any weak points it would be the plastic adjustment knobs other than it should be fine.

Overall I do recommend this item. Because I ride a recumbent trike and use a trailer for my kayak, I want to transport both. The shorter tongue on the kayak trailer does not fit well under my recumbent trike carrier. Mine is a different situation than most; therefore, I do recommend this. [ Although expensive, this rack is great. Holds bikes securely and does n't rattle around at all. I do n't have any issues with the arm coming loose like I 've seen on some videos and reviews. It is large also once you have the two pieces connected together. My one warning: I think that it is confusing with the NV 2. 0, NV Base 2. 0, NV Base 2. 0 Add- On, and NV 2. 0 Add- On. I purchased the NV 2. 0 base thinking that it was the initial part of the rack that holds the first two bikes then bought the NV 2. 0 Add- On for the next two bikes. While they do connect together, they do n't match. One is shiny black and the other is matte.
