I was gifted this bag in 2009 and it just ripped slightly on top in 2024. I was n't even sure the brand, but I had to look it up and give a review because 15 years of monthly hiking use on a bag is really impressive. Needless to say, I 'll be buying another!

I love this pack! It's big enough to hold everything I need for a long day of hiking. Holds lots of water, all the zippers are strong, the size of the compartments are perfect. Completed the Everest Base Camp Trek a few weeks ago. Out of 8 people in our group there were 5 of us wearing Osprey packs. I had the Scarab 30 and loved it. We hiked in sun and rain, hot and cold, through wood and over rock fields. This pack was on my back every day every step of the way. The bladder was full with an extra bottle of water on the side at the waist belt and the bag was full with essentials for weather swap outs and everything i needed to get from A to B and survive without my big duffel. It never chafed my shoulders or waist, felt great on my back and did n't sweat me up by allowing air to flow around it. It was exactly the right choice. The design of the bladder makes it very easy to fill and shove back in its home. the only thing i would change or add would be a cover over the drinking port. We were dropping our packs in a lot of places, on trails in Tea houses, coffee houses and different temples, everywhere and the drinking port always ended up on the ground. Would of been nice to have some sort of cover.

[ Hydro pack is awesome for the money. It has the straps of the high end packs and the venting of the highbend packs for less money. Literally like wearing nothing. I pack 2 meals, a small burner and change of clothes and everything fits perfect. Not to mention the 2L bladder. Very comfortable, little to zero bounce on MTB trails. I even jumoed a few times with it and forgot I had it on. Great bag!!
