I bought these about a year ago and taken them hiking through the Blue Ridge Mountains and walking on Maui beaches. I 've been impressed by their light weight and compactness. I appreciate the sureness of the rubberized feel and the balance in focusing between easiness and stability. As a photographer, I notice and really like the brightness and contrast of the images. The bino's twin hinges allow me to see a contiguous image, since I have a narrow interpupillary distance( on most binoculars, I see a black space in the middle of the image). The binoculars are n't waterproof. After I ran some water over the objective( front) lenses to remove sand, the binos fogged up for four days, then functioned normally. However, and fortunately, they do n't fog up after going from a low- humidity, air- conditioned environment to a humid, outdoor environment, as camera lenses are prone to do. So, to be fair, with reasonable care and for the price, no stars should be subtracted for the lack of waterproofness( Nikon never claimed they were waterproof, anyway).

Very sharp, bright optics!! I use mine for astronomy, nature and birdwatching. Ideal for those occasions when I do n't want to expose my high end binoculars to cold temperatures( i. e. Winter time astronomical observing) and as a second pair of `` knock around '' binoculars for quick looks at birds and other distant nature subjects.

I bought this pair of binoculars mostly for beginner stargazing but it has been great to use for a wide range of things! I watch wildlife, look at stars and read far away signs. Definitely recommend for a quality beginner pair of binoculars.

I got these binoculars to spot comet NEOWISE in mid July 2020 and I was n't disappointed at all. The binoculars are light, not too big and the clarity is just awesome. I was able to spot the comet very easily from Central Jersey even with all the light pollution. I 've also used them during the day and again, great results. I purchased the Nikon Aculon A211 10X42 Binoculars in June to watch a Hawks nest in the wood behind my house. The optics are great, very clear, easy to see detailed marking on the birds. They are light weight, comfortable grip. I 'm very happy with their quality and would recommend them to anyone.
