I purchased the Razor HD 8x32 from the wonderful store, Jay's Bird Barn in Prescott, Arizona about two years ago. I use them primarily for birding and occasionally for astronomy( the Beehive Cluster is a fantastic sight through these things). For birding they are great for close work such as my back yard Hummingbird feeder just 10 feet from the chair on my deck. For medium distances they also provide excellent, wonderfully clear views.

I wear eyeglasses and it is great if a set of binos gives me the option to view without removing my glasses. The UHD 10x50 allows this, and so does the Razor HD 8x42. They are better than the Viper 8x42 in this respect even though the eye relief on the spec sheet is less. Friendly reminder that the effective eye relief is never just the eye relief on a spec sheet, especially when comparing different brands/lines. Glass? Exceptional, as you 'd expect with the Razor name. Easy handling, great glass, large exit pupil, and great eye relief have made these my go- to bino. Love my UHD 10x50, but the 8x42 is 12 ounces lighter and easier to live with.

I purchased my 10x50 Razor Binoculars in 2018 if I remember correctly, and in 2020 one of the rubber rings came off of the eye piece. I was able to get it back in place. The next hunting season it came off again and I lost the rubber o- ring. At about the same time I was not able to balance the focus between each side which is very aggravating.. I put off sending them in because I was able to get by till the season was over. I put them away and didn ’ t pick them up till the next season and I pushed through the season again. I say all that to say I did send them in, Vortex received them, I received email notice they had been received and a couple weeks later, I received them back. They did repair them and minus the scratches that I put on them, they are in NEW Condition. Don ’ t do as I did putting it off, send them in they are quick to get them back. Also, I have purchased a set of Diamondback 10x28 and they are the best compact binoculars you will EVER purchase.

Wow! I am so impressed by the small pair of binoculars! Truly, these are an incredible value and extremely versatile. I ’ ve been using the diamondback 10 x 28 for almost a year now I really can ’ t believe the quality of optic they are for the price they have become my new favorite binoculars that I carry while I ’ m hunting. or just need to travel a little lighter. I am a backcountry and wildlife guide and so I ’ ve had the opportunity to spend time using most of all the big name and high priced optics on the market. For the price of these, there may not be a better value in contact binoculars. The glass is very very clear. In fact I get better imagery with these than I do from my leica a 10 x 28. This is partly because the vortex are easier to use and also the diopter adjustment has a better range and easier, set precisely. When I am hunting, I will often scout with a spotted scope or 10 x 42 binoculars but when I ’ m actually in the field and carrying a pack, a rifle, and rangefinder, I really like having a lightweight set of binoculars around my neck so I can glass through thick timber or at least locate animals That could be within my range. The set of binoculars are perfect for this. The two things that I think would make these better would be if they could be 4 to 6 ounces lighter and be double hinged so they folded and fit in a pocket better however, if those changes came with sacrifice and quality, it would not be worth it. I highly recommend these binoculars as a compact astonishingly great performing binoculars

Got these for concert viewing from the way way up nosebleed seats and I am impressed. They let in plenty of light with crystal clear views. Added a harness and I ’ m good to go. They are a good size for maneuvering in a crowd without feeling like you ’ re toting an elephant around your neck. Highly recommend for rock concerts. I bought these binoculars 3 or 4 years ago for whitetail and turkey hunting in Virginia. After 3 or 4 seasons of whitetail, turkey, bear and taking them out west for Mule deer, antelope and ducks I have been extremely happy with them. I bought these about a year ago and taken them hiking through the Blue Ridge Mountains and walking on Maui beaches. I 've been impressed by their light weight and compactness. I appreciate the sureness of the rubberized feel and the balance in focusing between easiness and stability. As a photographer, I notice and really like the brightness and contrast of the images. The bino's twin hinges allow me to see a contiguous image, since I have a narrow interpupillary distance( on most binoculars, I see a black space in the middle of the image). The binoculars are n't waterproof. After I ran some water over the objective( front) lenses to remove sand, the binos fogged up for four days, then functioned normally. However, and fortunately, they do n't fog up after going from a low- humidity, air- conditioned environment to a humid, outdoor environment, as camera lenses are prone to do. So, to be fair, with reasonable care and for the price, no stars should be subtracted for the lack of waterproofness( Nikon never claimed they were waterproof, anyway).

I bought a pair of Eagle Optics Ranger 8x42 on 9/8/2001. They accompanied me on innumerable hikes and kayak trips. I did n't abuse them, but they got knocked around plenty in all the usual ways. Finally, after over 22 years of service, the part of the right barrel holding the objective lens came loose, so I emailed Vortex to see if it could be repaired. I promptly got a response from Kathy in VIP Care enthusiastically inviting me to send them in and even providing a mailing label so there was no shipping. cost to me. Within two weeks, I received a note that my old binocs could not be repaired, along with a brand new Viper 8x42 HD, with a note of thanks. When Vortex says `` UNLIMITED. UNCONDITIONAL. I chose my Vortex Fury binox in 2009 for viewing animals on an African safari after the store owner said they were the best for low light, and the ones he 'd take. They were magnificent then and always, but fourteen years later my beloved Furies are battered, cracked and- from the latest fumble- the right eyepiece no longer dialed back in. I called Vortex for repair advice and was dumbfounded to learn of their essentially bulletproof- lifetime- no- receipt- needed warranty. I mailed them off to Vortex and today a brand- new in- the- box pair of Vipers arrived! I can hardly believe my luck. Not only the best binox ever. The best warranty ever.
