Great binoculars, ultra clear and crisp, good for 1000 plus yards! Have a good pair of small binoculars for the woods but I bought these for a spot that I needed to see clear for about 300- 400 yards. A little bulky and heavy but definitily great for spotting and gun hunting.

I happened to purchase these when they were on sale. I was going to purchase a pair of Nikon 7 X 35 binoculars initially, but the counter salesperson told me that he had these Nikon 10 X 42 binoculars for the same price as the 7 X 35 binoculars. I liked the fact that they were also completely rubber coated( waterproof) like the other ones were. I use these when I take my kayak out fishing on the lakes. They are powerful and the rubber coating makes them feel secure in your hands. I also bought them because I knew that Nikon made a good product.

I ordered these binoculars primarily so I could watch the osprey nest about 1/4 mile away. They work wonderfully. Due to the extended range the image is somewhat unstable but that is to be expected. They are great with even somewhat reduced lighting.

Purchased this product to serve two purposes... first, to give my wife something to watch the neighborhood birds. Has good ground resolution. Zoom feature helpful for her, although the highest zoom is very wobbly without a tripod. Second, for some backyard astronomy. The 50MM lens gathers a lot of light and does a decent job. Have n't had a lot of opportunity because of lousy weather, but what little clear skies we 've had, it seems to do a good job. Generally, very pleased with the performance and handling. Would recommend.
