I can understand people saying this sock is really thick, but if you 're used to basketball- specific socks, do n't expect anything unusual. It's definitely thick compared to thin running or training socks. It's too early for me to comment on durability, but so far so good. Comfortable and cushioned, and they stay where you want them to. The pictures are accurate, they have this wide ankle that I thought would be too loose, but they are nice and snug. I hope they continue to produce these.

Set scene: Christmas morning, stockings stuffed- yes, by the chimney with care. And I hoped that SmartWool socks would tucked in there. They were!( I knew this ahead because I bought them myself.)
