This is the `` goldilocks '' between the Novablast 3 and 4 and my favorite version of the three. Best version of the tongue. It's gusseted, a bit stretchy, preforated, and a touch of padding at the top to help prevent lace bite. The upper is a bit more breathable, and traps a bit less heat. The best version of the midsole. It's a bit less firm than the 4, better energy return than the 3, and they got rid of the excessive protruding heel from the 4. It's surprisingly flexible for a high- stack midsole, so you can use this for runs, jogging or walking. Very versatile, quite stable and I like the `` track club '' color way.

I ’ ve had Novablast 3 ’s, 4 ’s, and now this 5. Love the styling of the track club edition. I originally ordered my typical 9 1/2 but it was humongous and returned it for a size 9. Even the size 9 is plenty big. One other oddity and maybe it ’s just my specific shoe but the tongue seems exceptionally short. So much that on my first run I was getting some uncomfortable lace bite and after a few miles swapped out to my Superblast 2 ’s. I might have to relegate these to walk only shoes.

Post 4- mile run. You can tell these shoes are ment for distance, long runs, 6+ miles. A friend ran a marathon in them and the consistency of comfort stayed the whole race. I just bought a pair for a half marathon coming up. They are not built for speed or a ton of action. They do have some action and forward propulsion but the shine in stability got longer than normal runs. Maybe go 0. 5 size up, they are slightly more snug than the Nova Blast 4s. just barely though. Overall 9/10 for what they are meant for.

I had been away from ASICS for a while. I just came back, and I am glad I did. This shoe is awesome for long to recovery runs, allowing your legs much needed cushioning and energy return. I love the shoe so much, that I am tagging in their daily trainer( Novablast) for speed and tempo work. The toe box is kind of roomy, so if you prefer narrow shoes, this might not be for you.

I showed up to a 5k and realized I 'd forgotten my race day shoes. There was a store nearby so I picked these up for the race. The fit was great. I have a narrow foot and these were perfect. The upper is stretchy and comfortable. Midsole was well cushioned, but firm and stable. I would n't call them plush, but I expect they 'll do fine for runs to 10 miles or so. There is a big rocker in the forefoot and quite a bit of toe spring. Felt like it was rolling me forward, but nothing extreme and no pains. Finished the 5k within the top 10%. Not a personal best, but not the shoes fault. This is an excellent shoe. Probably not the best choice for a 5k, but reasonable. Not sure where they fit in my rotation, but daily trainer, tempo day or maybe even an occasional interval day will probably be fine.

I walk 1. 5- 2 miles per day around my neighborhood for cardio and balance. In the past I relied on NewBalance and more recently Sketchers. As I have aged( now 73), the NewBalance insoles have become too hard. Sketchers are comfortable but the soles are too soft to last on pavement. I run almost exclusively in the Gel Pulse line. I have also tried running in Brooks Ghost and Adrenaline, but by far these are my favorite shoes. I run about 20 miles a week in distances up to 8 miles at a time and have never had injuries or blisters. Compared to the top- of- the- line Asics shoes, this shoe is most comparable to the Novablast. I personally like how this shoe is light but cushioned. It hits a good balance between being cushioned without feeling spongy. I find a lot of other cushioned shoes to feel distracting when I run because of the squishiness but I do not feel that way with this shoe.

My 2 pair of Gel- Cumulus 24's while still in pretty good shape were relegated to lawn mowing and garden work. I really did n't think Asics could improve the GC 24's but with the 27's they did just that. I typically walk around 5 miles a day as well as working out at the gym. This shoe is a nice comfortable flexible shoe. For me because I have a wide toe box, I would like to see it a little more rounder than it is( somewhat pointed). In other words, the Nimbus 25 and Nimbus 26's that I have have a more pionted toe box. So I was expecting this Cumulus 27 to have a more rounded toe box. But I should have known better because I have a Cumulus 26. I do love the comfortable 8mm drop. And the shoe I flexible. I am an older gentleman that can use the shoe for walking, going to the gym, etc. With this shoe it allows me to size down to my corret size, because the containment is good. So that my foot does not slide forward as much as other shoe brands.
