He's got very good at picks as well with it. His defense was on lock with this glove. It also can be adjusted for a smaller wrist as well. You just have to relace it to the smaller holes. This also made it easier to catch direct throws as well.

I would n't be so quick to hate on this mitt for your kid. We have the A500 version of this glove, which be bought off Am* zon in October 2019. After a solid 2 seasons, spring and summer of splitting the catching duties, it was finally broken in. It is nicely constructed and mostly all leather( or leather- type) material. No fleece linings. Sturdy enough. Now that we are approaching spring 2022 and my kid will be 11, he can start the season with this. We are getting a backup to break in as only now the padding seems to be wearing thin and bigger kids throw harder.

[ I recently got this Rawlings, 2022 Breakout 11. 5- Inch Infield Glove, Standard, Navy/Scarlet/White, Pro I- Web, Conventional Back, Adult, Right Handed Glove and I 'm really happy that I did my husband was able to use it right out of the package and it did n't require any break- in. He's one happy ball player right now.

[ My son adores this glove, he ’s been working hard to break it in as it ’s quite a bit stiff. He ’s been practicing in his room when it ’s too cold to go outside. I wish it was broken in more for him, he is autistic with adhd and can lose focus on what needs to be done. Can we talk about the amazing smell…. probably just something I love.

The glove is well constructed and feels like it will break in nicely. The leather is a little stiff upon first use but with enough use or work, it should soften up. I play '70s senior slow pitch. I play catcher and I bought this glove for the basket. Great for picking up the duff balls that fall in front of the plate and also the pop ups around the plate. Rawlings specifically mentions girls softball and in their specs they label it as a youth glove, I do n't know why this glove fits my hand perfectly and the price tag was just right too.
