I ordered a 7 ’ 6 ” St Croix Avid Medium fast online from Dick ’s. The shipping was fast, ordering was easy and the rod is awesome. The rod casts super far and is light. Great for all day long casts. I ’ ve all ready caught a bunch of over slot Redfish and the rod handled them well. Great feel, sensitivity and enough back bone for big reds. Love this rod!

5 Tyler
I ’ m up to 3 of these now, 2 spinning and 1 casting and they ’ re my clear favorites across Fitzgerald, Shimano teramar xx, and a few other random brands of rods I own. I find the action is on the faster side with the Medium/Fast version of these rods, which is perfect for my preferences. Love the full cork grip as well. I have read about some issues with these, but I personally haven ’ t had any. I ’ m about 50 trips into the avid inshore I ’ ve had the longest.

5 Lance1831
Reel itself was 119. 99, Combo was 139. 99! So I paid an extra 20 bucks and just purchased the combo! 3000 reel with 7ft medium rod! Don ’ t know how the rod will hold up but the reel is the absolute best I ’ ve ever owned!!! Super light, quiet drag, super smooth, great handle!!! Couldn ’ t find anything wrong with this reel!! I highly recommend it!! Spooled with 15 pound power and it will cast a mile! Lol......

5 Grato
Bought this combo for this year's striper season and could n't be happier. Used 30lb braid, and cast lures all morning and was surprised how smooth the reel was compared to my Penn's. I also caught a 31 '' 10lb striper and the fight was epic but never had any concern bringing it in. Highly recommend this rod, actually bought another for a friend.

5 Acavalie
Happy I decided to buy this rod. Did a lot of research and it paid off I ’ m very pleased

5 Wet foots
Went to buy the reel but the combo was only a few dollars more. Rod is much better than expected and the reel is like butter.

I have fished this rod for 4- 5years, great sensitivity, light in hand, very balanced for all day casting. The back bone and bent of the tip, keeps every fish pinned and you land more to the bank or boat too! I have fished many brands of rods these are the ones I spend my time and money on! I want to land every fish I hook, how about you?

Given that I have all four of the Dobyns Kaden spinning rods, but had to only keep two of them, I ’ d probably pick the “ extra light ”( trout/panfish) and the M power and be able to catch just about anything I fish

See all reviews

5 Catch and Release
The Dobyns Kaden Light Power, Fast Action rod has has a quick taper at the tip and more backbone than typical `` light power '' rods making it a great choice for large panfish, trout, and bass when throwing 1/8- 3/8 oz. lures. The rod is very sensitive and capable of detecting subtle bites and underwater structure. The rod quality and finish are excellent. The rod blank is finished with Sea Guide's XO guides, Fuji reel seat, contoured split grip cork handle, and the blank is a clean black matte finish that easily matches all reel colors.

5 Chewy
Bought rod 2 weeks ago and used it on my 1st trip to Caney creek Lake. Threw senkos around docks and boat quite a few fish great feel.

Frequently Asked Questions For Best Inshore Spinning Rods

When selecting the best inshore spinning rod, consider factors such as the rod's construction material, sensitivity, and weight. A lightweight rod made from high-quality carbon or graphite will enhance your ability to detect strikes while providing the strength needed for larger fish. Additionally, features like guide quality and handle comfort can significantly affect your fishing experience.

Inshore spinning rods are typically constructed from materials like graphite and carbon fiber, which offer a good balance of sensitivity and strength. Graphite rods tend to be lighter and more responsive, while carbon fiber can provide additional durability. The choice of materials can influence the rod's performance in various fishing conditions.

The action of an inshore spinning rod refers to how much it bends when pressure is applied. Fast action rods bend mostly at the tip, providing quick response and sensitivity, making them ideal for detecting light bites. Conversely, slower action rods bend further down the blank, offering more flexibility and control, which can be beneficial for larger species.

Rod length plays a crucial role in inshore fishing, affecting casting distance and control. Longer rods can help you cast further and cover more water, while shorter rods provide better accuracy and maneuverability in tight spaces. The right length will depend on your fishing style and the specific conditions you encounter.

Yes, features such as stainless steel guides, high-quality reel seats, and durable handle materials can significantly enhance the durability of inshore spinning rods. Additionally, rods designed with corrosion-resistant components are better suited for saltwater environments, ensuring they withstand the rigors of inshore fishing.

Inshore spinning rods are versatile and can be used for various fishing techniques, including casting, jigging, and bottom fishing. Their sensitivity allows anglers to feel subtle bites, making them effective for targeting species like redfish, snook, and trout. The right technique will depend on the specific conditions and the species you are targeting.

Rod power refers to the rod's ability to handle weight and is categorized as ultra-light, light, medium, medium-heavy, and heavy. For inshore fishing, medium to medium-heavy power rods are often recommended, as they provide the strength needed to handle larger fish while still maintaining sensitivity for lighter bites. Your choice should align with the species you plan to target.

A comfortable handle is essential for prolonged fishing sessions, as it reduces fatigue and enhances grip. Rods with ergonomic designs and materials like cork or EVA foam can provide better control and comfort, allowing you to focus on your technique and enjoy your time on the water. A good handle can also improve your overall fishing experience.
