[ I ’ ve been playing in Phantoms for a few years and this time I decided to go half- size up, as the older Phantom GX was pretty tight in the toe box. Best decision ever: this new upper is so soft and malleable to the foot, plus the extra length made it really comfortable to play in. I have wide feet and had absolutely no problems with these boots( I tried Mercurials and couldn ’ t run due to the tight fit). The FG plate is quite aggressive with bladed, high molded studs. It ’s great on the forefoot but I would not suggest it for older AG turfs( like the one I played in)- as I got stuck on the ground a few times, and got a few blisters on my first day. It does wonders on natural grass! My favorite thing about these new Phantoms is the sensation when shooting/striking the ball, this upper seems at the same time both soft and thin, making it easy to feel the ball but also not providing a totally barefoot touch, which to me can be uncomfortable on the toe box. Highly recommended if you have a wider foot but still want a lightweight, soft boot!

[ Somehow Nike just gets better and better each year with their new soccer boots. These have to be the lightest pair of cleats I 've ever owned. Somehow it feels like I 'm wearing nothing on my feet but have the most revolutionary boots on at the same time. If you like a tight, glove- like feel I would recommend going TTS but if you prefer a little more room, I recommend going a half- size up. The ball handling and accuracy is incredible on these. They designed the knit on the front upper to be sticky to provide an unreal grip on the ball. Feels almost like an unfair advantage how easy it is dribble and control the ball. I 've only played in warm, hot and slightly dewy conditions so it will be interesting to try these out in rainy conditions. The traction plate on the outsole has crazy grip on turf and even grass. It really helps with that first move when you go to cut. Pivoting has never been easier and changing directions is seamless. I love the additional boost you get from the unique design. Nothing but positive feedback for the 6's.. the only thing I would change are the colorway options, Most of them are pretty loud so I would prefer a more subtle white/silver option.

They feel very light, it has a barefoot- like touch on the ball, which I love, since it feels more precise and allows for quicker ball control. The low- cut version that I received gives a cleaner look and more ankle freedom which I prefer. The fabric feels high quality, it adds a sticky feel to the ball without overdoing it and it improves overall ball grip in my experience. What I like most is the gripknit upper which really stands out to me, it provides better ball touch without needing an overly padded upper. The cleat is clearly made for technical players, which is ideal for me as I ’ m a playmaker and I value precision. What I would change maybe slightly more heel padding which could improve comfort for longer sessions. Also, the toe box area which didn ’ t really bother me that much but I noticed a bit tightness especially during my first session. I felt the height of the toe box a bit tight and I needed more space to feel 100% comfortable.

I purchased these cleats for my daughter, she's a U16 ECNL central midfield player. I never gave it much thought with us playing our club and ODP level ball, but having now made it through our first high school season and her want to continue playing high school along with her club ball going forward I started thinking a lot harder after seeing the quality of the fields we 've been playing on. Have seen far too many knee injuries this high school season and with the high level play and where she plays on the field, it had me a bit concerned about the long term. We have been playing with 4 other sets of cleats( 3 Nike GX Elite and 1 pair of Adidas Predator Elites). The Adidas played well on natural grass and she preferred the Nike GX's on turf and some of the grass fields, really it was a matter of how the weather was for the Nike's because the Nike cleats were harder to clean with the fly knit outer material with the ghost lace covers. Adidas tends to run narrow, so the Nike's have always been a better option for a bigger toe box, longer lasting, and the overall touch/feel on the ball. We 've moved away from laced cleats, but the ghost lace gives the best of all worlds with a hidden and covered lace so it does n't impact your ball strike and no untied lace. So it was sad when we did n't see a reboot of the GX Elites this past year until these Phantom 6 Elites. The pros of this Phantom 6 Elite:- Compared with a FG stud pattern as all her other cleats, these give you more of a barefoot soccer feel due to the shorter rounded studs- She felt the cleats felt like that put you in a natural prone position on the balls of your foot rather than being flat footed- Grip on turf felt different but gave a more secure and natural feel when digging in on changing direction- Grip on the cleat's upper material extended the full length up including the ghost lace cover The cons of this Phantom 6 Elite:- Because the grip on the ghost lace cover the shoe is a bit tight on the break in of the cleat but still feels really comfortable, just a different feel to get used to. Overall highly recommend this cleat and will be a primary cleat for her on turf in the mix of the 5 sets of cleats. A lot of money currently sitting in the boot room, but less than the cost of a knee surgery.

I ’ ve been waiting 25 yrs for a pair of soccer cleats like these. The air zoom unit in the forefoot is a game changer not only for the responsiveness but also for the comfort. After playing soccer in rock hard cleats for 20+ yrs my feet were destroyed and I had metatarsalgia bad in both feet. These cleats make it possible to play without pain. Thank you Nike. A must have for younger players, who should take care of their feet now before damaging them, and older players who need more protection from hard surfaces. Please make more soccer cleats with an air zoom unit in the forefoot. Also, please make a pair of work boots with a cushy air zoom unit in the forefoot. It would change the world. The forefoot is the part of the foot that takes the most pressure when doing athletics or walking.

Cleats has cool/interesting new materiales and features( glad Nike is finally putting some effort to innovate vs just relying on 90s vintage models). Shoes run a bit small from usual size so my suggestion go 1/2 number up. Also not too comfortable, narrow on the toe box and difficult to put on. Returned them and ordered Vapor Edge 360 Untouchable instead as those have a wider toe box and easier to put on. I ’ d recommend the Alpha Menace 5 Elite only to those players with narrow foot and consider half larger size for best fit.
