absolutely love my garmin force current with pedals. the pedals are a little tight but other than that it works flawlessly. do n't pay any attention to the videos saying anchor lock does n't work in moving water or windy conditions. I have done both and it works great. you just want to line your kayak up so everything is in the right position. same as you would with an anchor. it looks right in and never moves much at all with heavy currents on the James river and it was really windy. I am using a cloud energy 24V 150AH battery. battery is awesome as well but the 100AH would have been the better choice as it is lighter and fully waterproof. I built a box for mine out of PVC board. I have never used even half of this battery and I am towing my son's kayak behind me and out there for hours. I did n't like the pedal supports that came with it so I made my own with treated plywood. this is all on a Kaku Guru Kayak. I did the camo painting myself with long grass and spray paint. Look on YouTube for how to camo it. I did tons of research on everything on the kayak and just wanted to share it all. have fun fishing.

I ’ ve loved Garmin products for a long time now. I used to have a force trolling motor on my old fishing boat and loved it. Now that I live in Florida I primarily fish from a pedal drive kayak in the gulf. So when I decided to upgrade to a trolling motor, I didn ’ t hesitate to go with the Force Current with foot controls on my Native Titan X kayak. I finally got a chance to get it on the water a few days ago and it did not disappoint me at all. I paired it with my Garmin 73sv and connected 2 lithium 12v 100ah batteries in a series for 24V to get the maximum thrust capabilities. The foot steering takes some getting used to but I love the hands free fishing. Now instead of sticking to a 3 mile radius with my foot pedals, I can go an extra few miles. I ran that motor all day about 9 hours of fishing, only using the pedal drive a few times, plus ran it wide open twice for about 15- 20 minutes each time. When I got done I still had 81% battery charge left. The install was pretty easy on my kayak. Also the motor is light and easy to remove. Plus it ’s extremely easy to lift out of the water in a hurry with the pull rope. I run in very skinny water most of the time and it performs wonderfully. One thing I ’ m thrilled about is the remote and the fact that Garmin made it so you have to hit the turbo button twice to engage it. I ca n't tell you how many times I almost sent myself or someone else in the water on the boat by accidentally hitting the button. It ’s a high price tag but well worth the money!

Purchased the current only a couple weeks ago, but even only after a few trips i am extremely impressed. It ’s clear that there was a lot of thought put into this motor. Everything from the mounting design, to the simple but effective stow and deploy system, to the heading hold feature that somehow works great from the stern. Everything is so dialed in for use on a kayak. Even with it being a very expensive product, it hasn ’ t felt like I over spent a dime. I don ’ t see how you could spend much less to get 5. 5mph on a PA14 with GPS functionality. And that ’s not including the one of a kind wireless foot steering. Ive had a torqueedo for 4 years and switched to the garmin. The foot pedals take some practice, very easy to get yourself in trouble if you do n't watch it. The integration into my 126SV is awesome... being able to select a way point on the map and it sending me there is pretty cool. The anchor lock is better than I anticipated. My Old Town Autopilot 136 in gray Ghost Limited Edition arrived yesterday. Was wrapped nicely in heavy gauge plastic to protect it. After unwrapping and looking it over I found the Kayak to be of very thick and well- built materials. It is a heavy craft but the quality is amazing. Customer service was very easy to deal with and quite helpful getting me the answers I needed. Very spacious kayak and lots of room for everything I want to add. Cons- I wish they gave an option for aluminum rails to replace the plastic ones. Though the plastic ones are strong I just like heavy duty for fish finders etc. I also wish they would list the model number of the included trolling motor to make it easier for looking up spare or backup parts. Would I recommend this kayak to friends? without a doubt.

Purchased in May 2021, I upgraded from a paddle kayak when I found my AP120. I love to fly fish and this kayak allows me to slowly troll while standing and tossing flies around. Also the ability to lock into one spot and fish without an anchor is a game changer. The peddle kayaks are nice but not an option for me because I really enjoy standing while fishing most of the time with the option to sit when desired. Kayak is very stable and I feel completely balanced while standing. I use the lead acid battery for the motor and I 'm able to fish two full days on the water sun up to sundown without having to recharge the battery. I 've taken it out approximately 25 times in 5 months now and absolutely love it! Remote is very user friendly and if you hook into a big one you can quickly turn the motor off easily with a push of a button while standing if the fish makes a run directly under your Yak. The only downside is the kayak is heavy especially with a lead acid battery, but a good kayak cart takes care of that. highly recommend.

I have been fishing from the AutoPilot 120 for about 6 months in a variety of conditions and I am extremely pleased with capabilities of the is kayak. I have always been a bit skeptical of `` motor powered '' kayaks but the technological features of the AutoPilot intrigued me. As someone who does a lot of trolling the ability to maintain a constant troll speed in the face of wind and current is absolutely amazing. I frequently use the heading feature to `` set it and forget it '' and am able to have everything prepped by the time I get to the fishing grounds or get back to the launch. The real magic of this kayak is built into the motor which I power with a lithium 100ah battery. I 've never come close to draining the battery even with 10+ hrs on the water. Deploying and stowing the motor is easy. The deck and storage space is more than ample. The chair is very comfortable. If I had to be nit- picky my biggest complaints would be that the gear track is too far forward forcing me to use extensions on my rod holders to make them reachable when trolling and limited access to the inside of the hull.

My last boat had a Terrova and it always worked without issue so I decided to go for another. Love all the features and third party accessories available. While the included remote is feature rich, it was too big for my liking. A quick search resulted in the availability of a micro remote. I now have two remotes I use simultaneously, the original for my passenger, and the micro for myself. Seems like they either listen to customers or personally use these products themselves. I see 15- 20 year old boats still rocking their original Minn Kota. That's a good indication of longevity.

[ I can ’ t find anything bad to say about my Ultrex. After living with the Edge 45 for two years this is like going to a Cadillac. The thrust is awesome and the control is just spot on. Then add in the spot lock, I can pull in between two docks, spot lock and fish both docks fully. It was semi easy to install but only because I had never done one. Great product and such a Great tool for my boat.

This is the 4th Lifetime Kayak I ’ ve owned. It ’s by far the most stable which is crucial for somebody such as myself who frequently has one of my young kids or my petite Labrador retriever abroad. Sometimes both at the same time. I can comfortably maneuver around to grab/move gear around while on the water. The seat is very comfortable which makes it ’s easier when paddling for long periods of time. The only thing I ’ d change is the weight of the kayak. I had the opportunity to be chosen to receive and review the new Manta Angler from Lifetime Products. Took it out for a couple hours before we got rained out. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of paddling and how well it tracked. I expected it to be more cumbersome with the width and shape but it performed alot better than anticipated. It even glided with decent momentum when not paddling. Same thing with turning. I did n't have a problem maneuvering it around. The stability standing up was amazing. I felt quite comfortable moving around and never felt `` tippy, '' or like I had to compensate for balance. The stand assist strap is great. I really like the front bar for an anchor and like the addition of the 2 pole holders behind the seat to make 4. I 'll probably use the extra to put my nets. The handles we 're great for loading/ unloading. The wheels underneath are nice for ease of maneuvering around while getting ready, but I would question the longevity of the plastic material and would n't rely on it too much for long- distance transport. The rear storage well did seem a little shallow upon first look, but after taking it out, I feel the stability makes up for that. It does have a ton of space and overall deckspace, which is awesome. I 'll probably add a couple of padeyes to the center of the kayak to hook stuff to. The gear tracks are made of plastic but feel solid. The front gear tracks and rod holders are a little too forward to comfortably reach on the water but could be used for different things or Gopros when banked. Same concept with the front hatch, but that's typical with front storage on all kayaks. The stability DOES allow you to crawl forward and reach them or reach them while standing. The adjustable footpeg design and being able to adjust the distance while sitting is great. The trolling motor mount I have n't installed yet( I dont own a trolling motor) is a great feature as I see a lot of people rigging their kayaks trying to figure out how to mount one.( I might actually buy one now that im getting older.) I did choose to use the paddle that came with it because, well they 're nice enough to provide one and was actually quite impressed with it. Lifetime stepped their game up with the paddle. I felt little to no flex and never felt the need to switch to the spare paddle I brought. Overall, I really like the kayak and will definitely get a lot of use out of it. I feel they definitely hit the nail on the head for what it's advertised as. A super stable fishing kayak at a great price.

This Old Town 106 power by Minnkota is a game changer. I would compare this to more of a one- man boat as it is so incredibly stable, comfortable and easy to use. Fishing capability and storage organization is so well thought of. It truly provides a hands free fishing experience. Battery life has been great as I can be out for 8+ hours trolling around and still have juice to spare. This is running with a normal Group 27 DC lead acid battery which is also powering my fish finder. The only suggestion for improvement would be to provide an auxiliary power connection for those that wish to run both the trolling motor and fish finder off the same battery. I had to splice in my own auxiliary power connection off the 12V main lead. Other than that this kayak has met my needs right out of the box and I would say is worth every penny. I have had it for 2 months now and every time I use it still brings a smile to my face!

This unit has everything a Kayak fisherman needs, and provides great comfort. I Did n't want the hassle of fuel, motor maintenance, and a large towable boat, this is exactly what I needed. I 've had it in the water several times, and each time, I am surprised with how easy it cuts through the water. Other fisherman constantly comment on the kayak, and ask where I got it. This morning I heard one man tell his fishing partner, as they fished from the shoreline, `` that's the perfect boat ''... I agree! I am so pleased with the responsiveness, the speed and stability, and the comfort. At 6'1 '' I thought this might be too small, but I was wrong. Put this powerhouse in the river and did amazingly well. Had a good current and wind( Wyoming) against me and had no issues getting up river in it. Price is well worth it. I have two pdl kayaks and honestly I will probably never use them again. Good to have for friends I suppose.

I ’ ve had this kayak for a month and it ’s my favorite kayak I ’ ve owned! It ’s extremely versatile, from fishing small skinny rivers to large open bodies of water. The cockpit is very spacious and the drainage is well thought out. It ’s built like a tank just like all the Old Town ’s I ’ ve owned. It ’s bone dry inside the hull after every trip. Sit or stand, it ’s very stable and tracks well, especially with the upgraded rudder kit. I ’ d highly recommend the foot steering to go with this kayak. It equals more casts on the water and( hopefully) catching more fish! The ability to motorize this kayak with bow or stern motors or just paddle makes this the most versatile kayak I ’ ve had the pleasure of using on the water. 5 stars!

Very exciting update to the Sportsman lineup. Always been a big fan of Old Town's paddle kayaks because they offer stability with performance and rigability. This one takes that a step further as you 're able to rig the kayak in WHATEVER way you see fit. It's awesome to be able to mount the Stern motor and also have a quick on- and- off option for a bow- mounted motor like the Minn Kota when you want. After spending a couple of months in mine, I love how comfortable it is and how much space it has in the hatch. Definitely has made the longer days on the water much more manageable.

I was able to try this kayak for a day, and this is what I found. Three things stood out to me right away. Large open cockpit, tons of metal track front and back as well as bow and stern ready mounting locations for motors. The kayak I used was rigged out with a Minn Kota Kayak Terrova Bow- Mount Electric Trolling Motor with GPS – 55 Lb. Thrust, the optional and IMO definitely recommended rudder system and a Mega Live 2 with a 9 '' explore unit. First stepping into this kayak, I felt good stability with no problems standing to cast or setting the hook. There was room for gear in the back, under the comfortable seat and of course plenty of room in the cock pit. This kayak moved well with the Terrova and had great maneuverability especially in combination with the rudder. I feel this kayak is a great option as an introductory kayak to just paddle but can grow with you should you desire to rig it out with a motor or any other electronics. It really gives you a lot of options with an easy to rig and sturdy platform.

I ’ ve spent a lot of time in different fishing kayaks, and the Sportsman 120 Pro is one of the most well- rounded platforms I ’ ve used. What stands out to me is how much usable space you get without the kayak feeling oversized or difficult to manage. The stability is excellent, especially when standing and fishing, and the layout gives you plenty of room to customize the kayak around the way you actually fish. I really like the under- seat storage, the amount of track space available for accessories and electronics, and the open deck that makes it easy to move around without everything feeling crowded. For me, one of the biggest advantages of the 120 Pro is that it gives you a great foundation to build from. Whether you want to keep things simple or add electronics, power, storage, a bow- mounted motor, and other accessories, there ’s plenty of flexibility to make the kayak your own. Overall, the Sportsman 120 Pro feels stable, comfortable, capable, and thoughtfully designed for anglers who spend a lot of time on the water. [ This new kayak is laid out very well! It was very easy to rig mine out. Bow to stern includes as the upgrades that users have been asking for, from bigger hatch, predrilled wiring ports and power pole mounts on both sides of the stern. You can customize the kayak however you wish without many DIY solutions. I ’ ve decked out mine with gear and love it!
