This thing is great. I fish inshore salt and needed a compact, durable net that wouldnt take up too much space on my flats skiff. I was a little bit concerned that it would be too small, but I was able to net a couple of 32quot; redfish with it yesterday with no issues( tails sticking out, but no big deal). No flex whatsoever hauling these fish in the boat. The rubber mesh is great and doesnt tangle up at all. Very pleased with this purchase.

I was looking for a new net and since I mostly fish from a canoe was looking for a short handle net. This net exceeded my expectations. The extending handle is a great feature and I really like the mesh. I would not call the mesh tangle proof but definitely a very big improvement over the typical nylon mesh. And it floats!

Boat nets come in various types, including landing nets, cast nets, and baitwell nets. Each type serves a specific purpose, such as catching fish, holding bait, or assisting in landing fish safely. Understanding the differences can help you choose the right net for your boating and fishing activities.
Boat nets are typically made from materials such as nylon, aluminum, and various types of mesh. Nylon is known for its durability and resistance to wear, while aluminum frames provide lightweight strength. The choice of material can impact the net's performance and longevity in different water conditions.
Choosing the right size boat net depends on the type of fishing you plan to do and the size of the fish you expect to catch. A larger net may be necessary for bigger fish or when fishing in open waters, while a smaller net can be more suitable for wading or targeting smaller species. Consider your fishing environment and personal preferences when selecting a size.
When selecting a boat net, consider features such as the net's depth, handle length, and whether it has a collapsible design for easy storage. A deeper net can help prevent fish from escaping, while a longer handle can provide better reach. Additionally, look for nets with rubberized mesh to reduce fish injury and improve catch-and-release success.
Yes, there are boat nets specifically designed for various fishing techniques, such as casting, landing, or bait collection. For example, cast nets are ideal for catching bait fish, while landing nets are designed to help secure fish once they are reeled in. Understanding your fishing technique can guide you in selecting the most effective net.
Maintaining your boat net involves rinsing it with fresh water after each use to remove salt, dirt, and debris. It's also important to inspect the net for any signs of wear or damage, as this can affect its performance. Storing the net in a dry, cool place will help prolong its lifespan and ensure it's ready for your next fishing trip.
