I was looking for a new net and since I mostly fish from a canoe was looking for a short handle net. This net exceeded my expectations. The extending handle is a great feature and I really like the mesh. I would not call the mesh tangle proof but definitely a very big improvement over the typical nylon mesh. And it floats!

Came looking for a wooden net with a clear rubber mesh, and not even a thought about something else. However when I found this, is had a rubber mesh and the durability of plastic and metal as opposed to wood. The ability to eyeball an accurate measurement and the retractable ela stick cord in the handle really sold me. Works wonderfully.

The elastic strap makes it easy to keep the net within easy reach. The rubberized netting cleans up easily so it's not holding onto a fishy odor. This net was exactly what I was looking for. I went to the fish store and their nets where upwards of$ 100. This is pretty much the same thing but for much less. It works. The long bungee cord is nice in the water because you do n't need to take it off to use it.

Green Eagle 72
My old net was a cotton type net which caused a lot of problems releasing the trout while fly fishing. This should solve my problem of the tangles that occurred with the flies getting hung up and should be better on the release of the fish as well. If you are fishing for big lake trout it would probably need to be bigger but for our trips to the San Juan River it will be very functional and make my trips much more enjoyable and a quicker trip back to the water for the trout as well. Good product, well made and classic looking.

This is the perfect size net for someone who is just learning to use a cast net and I ’ m sure more experienced cast betters will like it as well. It ’s easy to learn how to throw something of this size and the directions are super self explanatory. The price is okay for what it is, but if you ’ re in it for catching your own bait this is a good net for sure.

Small fish nets are primarily used for catching and handling smaller fish species, making them ideal for anglers targeting specific types of fish. They are also useful for bait collection, allowing fishermen to easily gather live bait like minnows or shrimp. Additionally, these nets can be employed in various aquatic environments, including ponds, rivers, and lakes.
Small fish nets are typically made from lightweight materials such as nylon or polyethylene, which provide durability and resistance to wear. The netting may feature a soft mesh design to minimize harm to the fish while ensuring easy catch-and-release. Handles are often constructed from materials like aluminum or fiberglass for added strength and ease of use.
Choosing the right size of small fish net depends on the type of fishing you plan to do and the size of the fish you expect to catch. A net with a smaller hoop diameter is suitable for catching tiny fish or bait, while a slightly larger net may be necessary for small game fish. Consider the net's depth as well, as deeper nets can help prevent fish from escaping once caught.
Yes, small fish nets are often designed with ease of use in mind, making them suitable for kids and beginners. Their lightweight construction and manageable size allow for comfortable handling, which can help young anglers learn the basics of fishing. Additionally, colorful designs may appeal to children, making fishing more enjoyable.
When selecting a small fish net, consider features such as the net's mesh type, handle length, and overall weight. A soft mesh is preferable to protect the fish, while a telescoping handle can provide versatility for reaching into deeper waters. Additionally, look for nets that are easy to store and transport, especially if you plan to fish in various locations.
