Have used similar sinkers for years. Actively searched many bait& tackle stores as well as Dick ’s, Sports Authority etc. for these without success. Found some with fins, but not 3& 4 ounces. I use these for cut bait fishing from shore. They pick- up less weeds. I was really surprised that Eagle Claw is making the product and that Dick ’s is selling them. Great product for casting from shore. Completely satisfied!

Bottom fishing weights are essential tools for anglers looking to fish at specific depths. They help to keep bait near the bottom of the water body, where many fish species feed. By using the right weight, you can effectively target different species and improve your chances of a successful catch.
Choosing the right weight for bottom fishing depends on several factors, including water depth, current strength, and the type of fish you are targeting. Heavier weights are typically used in deeper waters or strong currents to ensure your bait stays in place. Conversely, lighter weights may be suitable for shallower waters or calmer conditions.
Bottom fishing weights are commonly made from materials like lead, which provides the necessary density for sinking quickly. Some weights may also be made from alternative materials like tungsten or steel, which can offer benefits such as reduced environmental impact or smaller sizes for the same weight.
Yes, there are various styles of bottom fishing weights designed for different fishing techniques and conditions. Common styles include slip sinkers, bullet weights, and trolling sinkers, each serving unique purposes. Understanding the differences can help you select the best option for your fishing needs.
While bottom fishing weights are specifically designed for fishing near the bottom, they can also be used in other fishing techniques, such as trolling or live bait fishing. Their versatility makes them a useful addition to any angler's tackle box, allowing for various fishing scenarios.
Maintaining bottom fishing weights is relatively simple. After each fishing trip, rinse them in freshwater to remove any salt or debris that may cause corrosion. Regularly inspect your weights for any signs of damage or wear, and replace them as needed to ensure optimal performance.
