I bought this roof bag the night we were going out of town. We drove 18 hours and experienced heavy rain. The bag stayed in place with the straps provided even though the straps feel a little stiff, they were still strong and flexible. Everything was dry upon arrival. On our drive back everything inside was damp from heavy rain but I think the flap that covers the zipper was flipped up. It should be ok as long as you don ’ t overstuff the bag and you ’ re careful about covering the zipper all the way around, you ’ ll be fine. If you have an option to get 20+cu, get the larger one. Everyone said these were huge and while our stuff fit, I could ’ ve used a roomier bag to eliminate extra inside cargo. This is for a one week trip for two adults and four children.

I have one of these. It is massive. It is solid as well. I think I 've accidentally bumped the top of against a ceiling at least 4 or 5 times and not a scratch on it, no dents or cracks either. I have been able to fit an absolute ton of stuff in it. Aerodynamic? Sort of. It will reduce your MPGs by at least 4- 5mpg on the highway. But you are getting a super huge place to store items. Rugged, built well. If you do n't abuse it, it will last.

One disappointment: three of five bolt/ wingnut combos securing the basket wind screen vibrated loose and were lost on first trip. Contacted Rack Attack customer service and was referred to Thule. The trickiest part for me was positioning the box just right—I prefer to have it centered on the roof, as we often access gear from both sides depending on the situation. The XL size is a great fit for an SUV. Due to the design of our crossbars, we did need to shift the box back a bit further than we initially wanted, which prevents the trunk from opening fully. However, this is entirely our choice, and I do n't fault Thule for this minor issue. We took the roof box on a skiing trip right away, and it held our 4 skis and poles with ease! It ’s been a game- changer for freeing up space inside the car. While the box does make a bit of noise once we hit 70mph, it's nothing that bothers us. The skirt itself is not stretchy but the material is very light and I imagine will be nice for the hot summer months. I am 150, 5ft3im and bought the small. If you want to talk, some other goodies in the rolltop works well, but the clips on the side may not be in the best position. I used the trailer for packing in and out of a very remote area in Colorado. The trail was 24 ” wide max. It was canted down hill and very rocky. It was a horse trail. The only failure was the quick release holding the yoke. The securing nut vibrated off and was lost. I used a valve cap to secure it until I could get two nuts to replace the factory nut. I also used lock tight to hold it in place. I suggest a larger diameter rear wheel for more ground clearance. The trailer tracked very well and was really stable. It took a huge beating from the rocks but weathered it well. I also suggest adding rings to connect bungy cords. Connecting to the bottom rail on the trailer resulted in lost cords due to rocks pushing them off. The weight limit is about double what it should be When I had 40lbs in it made bike handling extremely difficult because the front end was light. Very happy with the durability and quality of construction.

I ’ ve been using the Thule Xsporter Pro Mid for a couple of months now. It was super easy to install on my 2018 Honda Ridgeline even though they mention it doesn ’ t fit. I saw this on a Honda ridgeline at overland Expo. It holds my 2 person roof top tent with ease and I can not wait to get a few more items on it as well

Works great. Like most Thule products the instructions are at best vague. Plan on redoing it at least once. The biggest challenge is the integration with the Caprock. When you put a Caprock over the back you take off the cross bars. So now you have two crossbars with no known future to store or throw away( bleh). I would also note that another three inches in height would make the product much more versatile, as others have noted. All- in- all though a great product!

Just received this rack in great condition. Only negative comment I would like to make is that the instructions were horrible. No verbiage at all, just pictures. All the parts on the product sheet were labeled A- Z but no piece itself was labeled. Besides that and it taking some time to set up it fits well with my Thule Tepui Roof Rack

[ My sleeping bag does not pack down tightly. The `` compression '' bag that came with it did n't do much. So I thought I 'd try the Sea to Summit dry compression bag and voila! All I have to do is stuff the my sleeping bag in the Sea to Summit bag, tighten down and now it's half the size as before. Makes it easier to break camp in the morning and fits nicely on my rear pannier rack.

[ I 've been using evac compression bags for awhile, the new UL ones are great for backpacking and using in your backpack but they can be a bit fragile this Heavy Duty version is excellent. It's super water resistant having used it on bikepacking trips in rain and mud my gear stayed bone dry inside. It's very durable meaning you can strap it right to your bike or whatever your needs may be without worry of wear and tear. The new style closure system with buckles on one side makes opening and closing super quick and efficient which is great for when you get to camp late. I 'll be picking up a few more in various sizes.

Killer box for fishing trips. I picked up this box because I do multiple days fishing trips around the country and this box holds everything organized. The zippers in the lid lets me store leader materials and my items that I do n't need immediate access to, while the organizer lets me put my pliers, shears, PR bobbin and all the other goodies I need access to quickly. I the divider in the middle so I can keep boxes for hooks on one side and not have to worry about them sliding over while the boat is moving hitting the other side.
