They are water resistant and can be easily cleaned after a muddy hike! Just make sure to wear tall socks with them.

I absolutely love these boots, so much so I have purchased 3 pairs. When I worn out my first pair of these boots, I went to order another pair and Carhartt was out of stock and did not have an availability date at that time. I have a wide foot and this boot is available in a wide size. This does not require any break in period. So when I saw that Carhartt brought back this boot in my size I bought 2 pairs.
