So far, my only experience with the bar has been attaching the plate adapter to the Rovr45 cooler. Our Ford Ranger is a 2020 model. The production date for the Kit was 2018, so the best fit on the our roof was slightly different than the diagram in the directions. This presented no problem that we 're aware of. We 've had the Wing Bar Evo with the kit out on the road for one trip so far, no problems were noticed. Overall, directions were easy to follow, and the product is sturdy and attractive, too.

No, I do not personally own one of the racks, but coming from a person with loads of ladder rack and vehicle rack purchasing and using experience, this may the coolest, most useful product I ’ ve ever come across. And believe me when I say, I am very OCD, we use ladder racks on all our work trucks and enclosed trailers and I have shopped just every brand and style out there. Never have I run across anything this functional. Such a simple idea and long overdue. Wish I had thought to design and sell it.

Kit worked well. I changed the mount from inside the trailer to outside( who wants to lose space in the trailer bed?) by getting some additional u- bolts and L- brackets to replace the bottom mounting plates. I did have to replace the bolts used to attach the tie down points, as the wrench needed to tighten them would not reach inside the cross bar.$ 2. 50 worth of slightly smaller bolts, nuts and washers fixed the issue. I still need to cut off the excess bolt threads, but it is going to work great for carrying kayaks while still allowing the trailer to be used for hauling other items.

These clamps are for a 2020 Ford Escape, but if you have flush bars, I have not seen a cleaner more elegant, or stronger product than what Thule offers. It ’s pricey when all is said and done, but your car will not look like trash when you ’ re done installing, and you have the peace of mind of security for your gear. You will also need to purchase a boot kit for these.
