Ti Guy
[ These are basic, durable Shimano SPD pedals at a good price. They are n't the heaviest or the lightest- they 're just right. Cleat tension is fully adjustable and consistent. If you ride steep, rocky stuff, you can adjust tension for quick, easy and predictable release. Predictable is good.

Jordan
[ Purchased these to try after having used the M520 ’s for many years. A nice upgrade aesthetically and the build quality seems a bit higher as well. Should last a long time and easy to service.

[ I just switched out my SPD- SL pedals with these on my gravel bike. Works great and they few really solid. I have n't had any issues installing or using these new pedals on dirt or tarmac. Would definitely recommend to any gravel bikers.

Bikerchick
[ There are a lot of pedals on the market today but Shimano pedals are the only pedals I will buy! They last forever and the only reason I am buying a new pair is because I bought a new bike. I still have my original pair of 540's on another bike that I have ridden for 15 years.
5
Randy
[ I ’ ve been using the 540 pedals, seems like, forever. I use them on a touring bike with Sidi Dominator 7s. They always do the job and require no regular maintenance unless you ’ re in crazy mud. The newer models are cool but these work just as well for half the price.

[ I have used CrankBrothers eggbeater pedals for several years now. They are simple in design, not a bunch of small parts that get clogged with mud and don ’ t require adjustments.

The holes to screw the cleats into were a little misplaced which caused some discomfort when I tried them on, but once I tightened the cleats onto the shoe, I have n't noticed anything off and the shoes are comfortable and fit

j4ffle
[ I 've taken the shoes on two rides so far and they 've been great. The holes to screw the cleats into were a little misplaced which caused some discomfort when I tried them on, but once I tightened the cleats onto the shoe, I have n't noticed anything off and the shoes are comfortable and fit well.

Fuzz Factory
[ I mostly do rail trail and gravel road riding. This shoe is perfect for that! I 've always liked Shimano products and these shoes are no exception
5
Glarner
[ I bought these a month ago and I 've worn them almost every day since then for rides between 30 and 80 miles. They are very comfortable and the stiffness of the sole has eliminated some plantar pain I was developing with my old shoes. The only objection is that the velcro straps are just barely long enough( I have wide feet). The shoes fit my feet well enough but only with thin liner socks- I 'm not sure these will work well for cold weather rides given my wide feet( and need for thicker socks).
$165.00
So much easier to tighten on the fly. ... Good rigid support but still easy to walk in. ... [ I 've used these 5- 6 times over the past month or so and have no complaints so

aslogar
[ Went from a velcro close shoe to the boa. So much easier to tighten on the fly. Good rigid support but still easy to walk in. Easy cleaning, just wipe off.

Tctc
[ I 've used these 5- 6 times over the past month or so and have no complaints so far! The only thing I would have appreciated( as a first- time clipless pedal person) is a bit of help/instructions on where to install the clips on the bottom of the shoe for maximum comfort.

[ Bought these for my fitness bike- sometimes I just want to hop on my bike and go across town without having to put on my cleats. Other times I want to do longer rides with clipless for the climbs. These pedals do both!! And the wild ice- blue color looks great on my bike.

Simple design, durable, works well, and great value! Did need to drill holes in my pedals, but that was a function of my pedal design and not an issue with the toe clips.

bwilliams0872
Bought toe clips and straps to replace old worn ones.
$125.00
They clip in to my pedals very nice and still have grip on the bottom for walking. ... Much easier to hike- a- bike without the steal toe cleats like my old shoes

Tall Old Guy
[ Bought a month ago and have 150 miles of dirt with( and on) them. Really love the way they cup my heel. Remarkably good fit. I wear size 14 US athletic shoes and got a 49 size( about 13. 5 US) in these shoes and am very happy with the length. They stay tight and do n't stretch over the ride like my old ones did. Much easier to hike- a- bike without the steal toe cleats like my old shoes too. Maybe less than stellar: Feels kind of bulky in the forefoot sole if you 're standing on rocks, but it's tolerable. I do n't notice it when riding though. Not sure how long the BOA system will last. It seems like I 'm going to pull it apart when I disengage it, but time will tell. I would recommend these. In fact, I 'm going to get my girlfriend a pair.

Newton5083
[ Bought these to use with SPD pedals that I just put on my Nordictrack bike. They fit well and the quick release is easy to use. I would use them on my MTB also if I had clipless pedals.
5
Eklein
[ I bough these about a month ago and have loved them ever since. My feet never get sore and they never slip around. They clip in to my pedals very nice and still have grip on the bottom for walking.

Drewski
[ Other than a bit on the narrow side of fit … high quality materials… bit tough to unlock the Boa to loosen … very sturdy: these will last as long as the bike lasts. I ’ d buy again! Recommend these as long as your feet are not wide.
Cleat pedals are specialized bike pedals designed to work with cleats that attach to the soles of cycling shoes. They provide a secure connection between the rider and the bike, enhancing pedaling efficiency and control. By engaging the cleats into the pedals, cyclists can pull up on the pedals as well as push down, maximizing power transfer.
Cleat pedals are versatile and can be used for various cycling activities, including road biking, mountain biking, and commuting. They are particularly beneficial for competitive cyclists who require optimal performance and efficiency. Depending on the design, some cleat pedals may be better suited for specific terrains or riding styles.
When selecting cleat pedals, consider factors such as compatibility with your cycling shoes, the type of riding you plan to do, and the pedal's weight and design. Additionally, look for features like ease of entry and exit, as well as the pedal's durability under different riding conditions. Your personal comfort and riding style should also influence your choice.
To achieve a proper fit with cleat pedals, it's important to align the cleats correctly on your cycling shoes based on your foot position and riding style. Adjustments may be necessary to find the optimal position for comfort and power transfer. It's also advisable to test the setup in a safe environment before heading out on longer rides.
Yes, there are various styles of cleat pedals, including those designed for road cycling, mountain biking, and hybrid use. Road cleat pedals typically have a larger platform for stability, while mountain bike cleat pedals may feature a more compact design for easier walking. The differences in design can affect weight, ease of use, and the type of cleat that is compatible.
