Here in the Pacific Northwest a jacket needs to be versatile. This piece is warm but not bulky and if the temperature drops below freezing I ’ m still warm, I wear a sweatshirt or shirt and base layer. Amazingly windproof. Sheds water very well. Haven ’ t been in any really heavy downpours with it but in and out of the store it works great

That is the soft shell I want. The size is about right, at least to me. The only thing you need to pay attention is the color. The black one I bought is not really as dark as the shown pictures. It is more like dark grey. Not a problem to me, but maybe an issue to someone else.

I stand 6 ’ 0 ”, and I weigh around 185lbs. A size large would be perfect if you are close to my size. This jacket looks very nice, and it keeps you very warm. If you wear some relatively thick undergarments, you can get around comfortably in some pretty cold weather while wearing this jacket. And when you zip up, the zipper goes into a small pocket. It keeps your neck from being irritated by the zipper. Very good design.
