[ I was on a quest to find a waterproof, cushioned hiking shoe for Torres del Paine “ O ” backpacking trek The final pairs were from Columbia and Hoka Speedgoat. The Peakfreak was my final choice as I found that the cushioning level matched that of Hoka, without the bulk. I completed the trek and was compelled to write this review as the Peakfreak surpassed my expectations. The trek was around 70 miles with unforgiving terrain. This shoe softened the impact on my low back and foot pads, yet was sturdy for the uneven trail. We hiked through snow, rivers, mud and my feet remained dry. The soles gripped every rock and slippery root. My Peakfreaks kept me upright while others were slipping and losing traction. Oh, and no blisters and no break- in necessary. The only recommendation is to order 1/2 size up. I ’ m a true 9 1/2 and my toes were a bit crammed. I bought a size 10 and it fit perfectly.

[ I needed waterproof trail running shoes for winter runs. I 'm very careful about proper shoe fit and function since my runs typically are about five miles, three days a week. These were very comfy right out of the box! I wore them, with yaktrax cleats, on a 5. 5 mile trail run, 450 foot elevation gain, and mostly snow, slush, mud and mud puddles on top of rocky terrain. The shoes were the best! My feet stayed warm and dry, the shoes felt sturdy and yet allowed my feet to flex for up hill and down hill running; Plenty of space in the toe box. This is my second pair of Konos TRS shoes and they are just as comfortable as the ones I bought last year. Taupe color is exactly as pictured and fits true to size. I 've walked trails and sidewalks in these shoes and have no foot pain and my feet stay put, no sliding in the shoe and no heel slips. Easy to clean up if they get dirty on a trail. Suggestions: wear ankle socks the first couple wears to break them in, I wore no- shows the first wear and had some uncomfortable rubbing on my achilles till about the 3rd wear.

I 've had 3 pair of Montrails since my first pair in 2001 and have loved the brand. Was excited when I discovered these and found them recommended in Runner's World Mag this year. They are light, bouncy, and really plush for a trail running shoe. Great build quality. I would say they 're soft like the Pegasus Trail 4 but with a lower stack. Just completed a 5 mi trail run and they made the run fun. I think they 're best suited for non technical with moderately smooth trails with gravel and roots. I 'd use a harder and more stable shoe if I was traversing rocks and big roots. Looking forward to running my next half marathon in them with absolutely no concerns. I saw some reviews about how they run large. I am usually a 10. 5 and bought these in size 10 and they fit my foot length and width perfectly, so they run large but only marginally for me. I have a rather high in- step and these are perfect for people who have the same; other brands are too tight on the in- step and feels like an elastic or lace tie is running over the top of my feet. But I finally found a pair of covered toe clogs that fit my needs. Very comfortable, just the right hint of arch support and bounciness in the cushion for me( similar to the feel of Hoka, a brand I left to try these Columbia Revive Clogs). Couldn ’ t recommend more.

I would say these were about 1 shoe size larger than advertised. [ Have n't worn outside the house yet, but very comfortable so far. I have a hard time finding shoes& sandals that do n't rub me the wrong way in some aspect, but these seem perfect. I was pleasantly surprised, as I expected the side strap to be annoying& it's not. There's nothing pokey or scratchy about them. I have a regular width foot& a collapsing gait,& these seem to have good support for that. I also tried the trail hiker& konos sandals, but those both had straps that I could feel underfoot where they attached.

I have been wearing this same Columbia mid- boot for several years. I ride a Harley motorcycle and these boots have lived up to their billing. They are waterproof and best of all they are cool during the hot summers of south Louisiana because of their breathability properties.
