I 'm really liking this compact backpack canopy, especially after buying a different one from a different store originally. They were the same size, style and price, but the first one I bought had mesh panels around the frame, including between the top and wall, leaving a gap of coverage and they would catch in the velcro. After returning that one, I picked up this Quest canopy and was much more satisfied with the sturdiness of the frame and thicker fabric in one solid piece- no mesh! While it's true this canopy does n't stand as tall as a standard 10x10, it's comfortable for sitting under in chairs and the compact size when storing and transporting is worth the trade off for us. It's easy enough to bring and set up by myself for the kids' swim practices, while a 10x10 would be too much hassle. I have been very popular at practices when I bring this canopy. We used this at our first swim meet and set up two chairs and a blanket and it worked for us. I could lift and rotate the whole canopy as needed to adjust the orientation of the canopy wall as the day went on. Almost everyone else had a 10x10, but they also involved wagons and lots of hauling gear around. We were happy with our relatively light load and the minimal space needed for storage at home.

This is a small shelter, about 5ft tall- 6ft in the center. Meant to be like a large umbrella- not to hold events under. Lightweight, fast pop- up and tear down. Great to sit under at kids sporting events, or to beat the heat a small tailgate. Fits inside the width of a parking space without overlapping other peoples spaces- so very versatile. Sits low to cut the sun angle. Sat under it in parking lot before professional sporting event and kept us cool on a very hot day. I bought the grande online from Dicks sporting goods, picked up at the South Portland store, same day. Set up was simple, stretched it out in an X pattern, flipped the cord under the sand bags and filled with sand. Poked the poles under the front corners, adjusted the bags a little bit by stretching out, then dug a small pit and buried them. I 've been doing this for three days in the coastal winds and it's been getting more efficient each time. Zero issues, stays put for hours with shifting winds when set up properly. Take down is just as simple. Storage bag is compact. 5+ stars, I 'd buy it again without a doubt and have not received anything for this review.

I used the brand's set up video to help with the initial set up, but once I did it, it was a no brainer the other times I used it. Best part is I can keep it in the back of the car. I ’ ve been looking for a portable shade option since forever, but I didn ’ t want an entire tent production and umbrellas weren ’ t cutting it anymore. I wanted something that moved with me, or the direction of the sun, quickly- no bulk, one- person setup. I knew there had to be something better than the just tents or umbrellas. In walks the Shibumi Park Vista... and it was love at first sight. I ’ m 5 ” tall and even I can set this up, by myself, in about 2 minutes. The design is so clever! You can tell that Shibumi thought through the details and practical application. It ’s very lightweight and has a small footprint when you ’ re packing. I can toss it in the back of the car, carry it to our destination, and have shade almost anywhere, without looking like a clumsy fool trying to set something up that isn ’ t worth the work. This is easy peasy and the shade payoff is huge! I would love to see the option to purchase a base for attaching to stadium seating. That would be an absolute God send for track meets.

So far, we have used it for 7 days, every single day, for about 8hrs per day and it is holding up well. I bought the Army green color and LOVE it!

I bought this to replace an old pop- up which had bowed, bent and broke at the middle brace points. I bought this one specifically for the reinforced braces in the middle and it did n't bow in once even during a rain storm in the mountain of Southern CO. The vented top was perfect for the wind, which was n't super strong, but was moving the top quite a bit! Really liked the idea of closing and opening these vents. Even had one side closed& the other open during the rain so it would n't come in us while we were cooking! Also bought this because of parts replacements, even thought I have n't needed it, very nice to know that it's available! The issue we had when putting it up, was a screw in the inside leg at the bottom was n't put in straight and it was catching the outer leg from extending. In step 3 of the instructions, Figure D was impossible to do! Had to have 2 people work at this to get it to click!

This canopy is the best one I 've owned. It is a very sturdy with heavy gauge hardware including double sown seams on the canvas. I used it twice at windy football games and never hinted of sailing off. The E- Z Up 10'x10' is defiantly a two person setup and take down. Surprisingly, it is easy to remove/insert from the wheeled carrying envelope. It's 57lbs heavy.

I have had many canopy's in the past and everyone of them has lasted a year or two until breaking. This costs a little more but is very much worth the price. The cover is thick grade canvas that will not tear. The legs are strong and long enough so I do n't hit my head every time I walk under the tent( I 'm 6' 2 ''). the bag and wheels may be the best feature of all. The wheels are wide enough so the bag with the tent wo n't tip over while pulling it and it is made of the same strong canvas as the top of the canopy.

This is a big win for me. My other canopies have those annoying push buttons for raising and lowering the supports- always getting pinched!!!!. [ I just purchased this in the 9x9. Have used the 12x12 and the 16x16 for a number of years. They ’ ve changed the color a couple of time but features are unchanged in the time I ’ ve been using them. Square shape is only way to go. Kudos for configuring this way. So many tarps are rectangular. For a haystack, sure. Fine. For a shelter, the square has far more setup options. There ’s heavy tieouts on the four corners and lighter ones along the edges. Well spaced. A little stretch to keep it taught.. important in rain. I don ’ t know if they market this as a rain shelter but that ’s all I use it for. The big one if camping next to a car, the 12x12 for rafting. This 9x9 for backpacking. Two lbs may seem like quit a bit to pack for a tarp but covered area is pretty great. And large enough to configure in some version of a ‘ storm ’ mode if conditions warrant. I have a HMG DCF tarp. It ’s 8. 5x8. 5 with no stretch. Definitely harder to get a taught pitch. It ’s light as a feather but that extra half foot per side is more than it sounds on this Kelly. 12% more covered area even though only 6% more length.. ya know if you get all STEM about it... I won ’ t go into costs per square foot between the two and it ’s not even really a fair comparison given the different materials used but if your not into packing a piece of square fabric that costs as much as a pair of skis, this is one of the best values out there right now.

There's adequate interior space to accommodate a comfy( appropriately scaled) camp style chair, mini size cooler, and large tote bag/ backpack. The two side windows, front door, and small flap in the back can be unzipped according to preference and comfort needs. Unlike other weather pods, the front door unzips from the top down rather than the reverse which is much more suitable for control of visibility and comfort. The pod comes with stakes for added stability during increment and/or windy weather. I also like that it comes with a carrying case. The pod is quite easy to open and close once you practice a few times and become more familiar with the process. However, I found it very helpful to first view the video on the manufacturer's website. I highly recommend this amazing pop up pod for protection and comfort on cooler, windy, and/or rainy days. It's also nice when you prefer your own space and would rather not converse with others. It's definitely been an eye- catcher too and I 'm frequently asked about where to purchase this Perfect Pod!
