I have not played Lamkin in quite a while-- I used to play the Crossline years back for a few seasons. I wanted to mix things up from the other brand, so I bought the UTx to test out based on some favorable reviews. I definitely think this one is worth a try if you 're looking for something new. What you get from this grip is really interesting. The first thing that stood out to me was that it has a surface tackiness that I 've never felt in a full cord grip. Usually with a full- cord grip, you get good traction and feedback, but there's never much 'tack,' so this was super interesting- in a good way! It seems to have slightly more shock absorption that other full cord options, but you still get great feedback. Overall, it's a well- balanced feel, that leans to the firmer side. Would love to see it offered in a reduced taper version.

I thought I 'd try out Golf Pride MCC +4 grips and just did not like anything about them. They felt like sandpaper and were way too thick on the bottom portion for my preferences. I switched over to the Lamkin ST +2 Hybrid grips and immediately loved them. Great feel, great in- between reduced taper, and great quality. They seem to be a popular grip since I had to drive around to a few locations to find a total of 13 of them in standard size.

As someone who wears an M/L golf glove, the Lamkin ST Hybrid grip seems to be a good compromise between a standard and midsize grip. In other words, it is not too small nor too big because it is a less- tapered grip. Similar in concept to Golf Pride's MMC Plus 4, these Lamkin grips, however, are not as thick, which is probably equivalent to two, as opposed to four( Plus 4), wraps on the bottom part of the grip. It might take some time getting used to because you may feel like you ca n't turn your hands over. But as someone who can get flippy, that might be a good thing. In addition, I am not sure if it is because of the rubber compound material or the non- tapered size, but these seem more durable than I thought. I found that to be the case with the MMC Plus 4 as well. Probably because, in both cases, I do n't feel I have to grip the golf club as tight with less movement in my hands during the swing. I would recommend testing the grip on a club or two before regripping your whole set to see if it's right for you though. They are definitely worth a try.

I found an 80's era Ping B60 on eBay recently. It has the original, slim, OEM Ping putter grip, amazingly still intact! Problem- with my `` meat hook '' hands, I could n't hold onto it, if you know what I mean... Golf Galaxy has the midsize PP58 Ping grips( plain and full cord), and they are amazing! Very comfortable, very durable, and you do n't get that feeling like the putter was meant for a 10yr old boy, LOL... The techs knew of the Ping B60, etc... and quickly and easily, swapped the grips for me while I waited. This new PP58 with full cord is fantastic! I can grip it easily, and it provides a lot more `` feel '' to the putting stroke, much like my prized Odyssey White Hot does. In a nutshell: If you have a Ping putter( or like me, collect older Ping putters...) the new PP58 grips are the best you can buy! You wo n't be disappointed, believe me!

I was looking for an inexpensive and less rough alternative to my Golf Pride Z- Grips, which I love. One of the reasons I have stayed with them for so long is because they are durable. However, they can tear your hands up after a while. Your glove seems to wear out sooner too. I have also tried Lamkin cord grips, but, for whatever reason, I seem to wear them out faster. Tour Velvet cords were an option as well, but since these were a couple of dollars cheaper( and they were out of stock), figured why not give them a try. Truth be told though, these are n't as grippy as the Z- Grips or Crossline Cords, because they are less rough. But I wanted a balance of comfort and performance and these seem to do the job at a cheaper price point. While some may prefer the standard black, I chose white( with black cord) just to make my set a little different.
