The `` Boa system '' is really cool. Instead of leather or cotton laces, it's a wire system that tightens up to your comfort when you twist the button on the front. When you want `` out '' you pull the button out and the tongue loosens right up. Very convenient. I would recommend this boot for mostly active activities. I 'd to walk miles in them they are so comfortable, they also feel very sturdy and supportive which you 'd want in an ice fishing boot.

[ I wore these while hiking in Sequoia National Park in the winter. They were super comfortable! I walked through snow, small streams of water, and muddy areas. My feet stayed dry and warm. They had good traction. Some snow did get in over the top when I walked in snow deeper than the height of the boots, but when I put on some snow shoes with them and that kept me from sinking in too deep. I was feeling a little silly getting a pair of these so late in the season but with our snowstorm in Western NY this weekend, I 'm super glad! My feet stay really warm and cozy and when i brush off my car, the snow does not get down into my boots. Absolutely love them and hope they last for many years. I was very satisfied with its performance. I used it in Norway, and it was completely waterproof. However, since there is a small gap at the top, I ’ d recommend wearing waterproof trousers over it to prevent water from getting in. Also, I suggest ordering one size up. I went half a size up, which was fine, but it felt a bit tight with thick winter socks. That said, the boots are already very warm on their own. I only needed extra layers because I was in- 6°C weather.
