Buy these shoes every year for our daughter. I believe this will be her 4th pair. They keep her feet warm& dry. Our temp here in the PNW doesn ’ t get too low( lowest around 20 degrees), so I can ’ t vouch for how it would do in the single digits. They fit true to size. They are a bit stiff in the ankles the 1st day of wear, but still comfy. I have the adult version& love how cozy& comfortable they are for hiking in the snow or cold rain. I buy them a half size larger than I do even my regular boots( 1/2 size up for semi- thick socks, full size up for extra thick socks) to accommodate very thick& fuzzy Columbia socks( so cozy!), but our daughter doesn ’ t like to wear super thick socks, so I buy her regular size. These boots can withstand a lot of use without showing much wear. Each year we give away her outgrown boots& they barely look used. Love these boots! I 've been wearing Muck Boots to muck around my horses' paddock( and stalls) ever since I first discovered them, probably more than 20 years ago. They are great boots that I only wear for short periods every day. They keep my feet dry, and mostly warm. Over the years, I 've paid attention to the fact that I need to replace them every several years despite such limited used, but now I 've been advised that one is supposed to treat them with detergent-- I kid you not-- to keep the rubber happy so it wo n't crack.
