They work well to float on the top of the water but if the current is right I 'm not afraid to watch them sink and go after the fish sitting on the bottom.

Great slip floats, I just wish there was a chart or something to show how much weight they will float. I got the 1/2 pencil floats they just barely stay above the water with 1/16 jig alone. So I 'd say the 1/2 pencil would be perfect with 1/24 or lighter
