Hard to beat this rod for fluke. Can fish 4 oz buck tails in the ml. I paired this a Shimano Spheros SW 4, 000 and 15# PowerPro Super Slick. It is a beast rod for fluke and sea bass. Bought this rod a week or two ago and it ’s held up. Negatives- It ’s a bit heavy( which I get Bc it ’s main purpose is a catfish rod). Also don ’ t like the clear tip of it, why not make it glow in the dark for night fishing if your already going to make it clear? Positives- it ’s surprisingly got pretty good sensitivity for it being a thicker 2 piece rod. It ’s a pretty strong and it really shows no signs of weakness. I ’ ve caught a bunch of catfish and perch over the past week and the rod has done great. One of the catfish being over 15lbs, it ’s earned my trust. All in all if your looking for a nice, strong, and durable rod for under$ 50 this is a safe bet. It ’s got minor issues imo so the pros heavily outweigh the cons. 4/5 stars

This rod is an incredible value for the money. If you are trying to get high end feel, but do n't have the money for pro tournament level rods. Try one of these. I have 3 and love them for everything texas rig, punching, top water, jerk baits, crankbaits etc. When looking at reviews here you will notice that the only reviews that are n't 5 stars are the ones where people are reviewing bad shipping or something that has nothing to do with the rod itself. Bottom line is if you are looking for+$ 200 quality for$ 130, buy these rods. Period.

RAV4Driver
This review updates a one month prior entry. Now that I 've fished it a bit more, AWESOME rod. I 've just bought a second. Originally for panfish and trout, it's become my favorite for accurate presentations wading bulrush shorelines for bass on inland and Great Lakes. Fast action to telegraph every bit of the action, with enough spine to steer the big guys away from trouble. Paired with a Pflueger President 20 or 25 reel, the combo is light, comfortable, and tough enough to fish all day. I run 4# Sufix with an 18 '' Vanish Fluoro leader on Carolina or Neko rigs. Precise casting, and even with this light tackle, have n't felt undergunned on big Largemouths or Smallmouths. It's just a blast to take 'em on with this rod.
4
RAV4Driver
Bought this 7' one piece medium action/fast rod as an upgrade for panfish and trout. In the last 3 weeks, I 've taken 11 nice 2 plus lb bass along with plenty of large panfish. Very sensitive for finesse presentations, and the fast action means fun battles with plenty of spine when needed to keep the big guys from brush piles. I 've paired with a Pflueger President size 20 reel and Berkley Sufix or Trilene XT 4 lb line with a 6# Flourocarbon leader. Casting is wonderful, controlled, predictable and accurate with the lighter line and rigs near the 1/8 minimum for this rod. Only takeaway is the reel mount, which places your fingers on the base of the spinning reel with no cork or EVA under. Gets a bit uncomfortable after a few hours compared to my Berkley or Fenwick predecessors, and just would be unbearable for cold temperature Spring or late Fall fishing.

fishinfool
I was all set to buy another Fenwick HMG or St. Croix Mojo Bass rod for some finesse worm/soft plastic baits until a salesman who also fishes quite a bit showed me this rod. Honestly I 'm not the most experienced bass fisherman so a lot of the rods felt the same to me, everything from a 249. 00 to this 50. 00 rod. I bought the ML fast action and I could n't notice anything between this and the 149. 00 St. Croix Mojo Bass rod. This rod was on sale for 49. 00 so I figured why not, plus being that price point it allowed me to buy a reel, braided line, floro carbon line for a leader and a bunch of soft plastics. It's super light even with the Revros 2500H I paired with it. Ca n't wait to use it come spring but seems like a sweet rod.

I bought this rod last week and have went fishing with it 5 times already. I go fishing for about 3- 4 hours at a time, which gave me enough time to get a good feel for this rod. On the website it says that it is `` Fast, '' but in the store, they only carry Moderate Fast, which I had no problem with; I actually prefer moderate fast. Now, throughout my time fishing with this, I can say I love this rod. It is absolutely fantastic and SUPER sensitive. I was feeling every stick, rock, fish, etc. that my bait was hitting. This rod allows me to cast very accurately and I have seen an increase on my casting distance, as well. The website for Dick's and Lew's specified that this is a saltwater rod when in reality it really does n't matter. The only difference is that this has stainless steel eyelets, which are really great because they will not rust. I main bass fishing and needed a good rod that was super sensitive and all I can say this rod exceeded my expectations. Also, I can assure you it is durable because I got stuck in a couple of bushes and bent the crap out of the rod to see how durable it was- it held up very very nicely. Along with that, I caught a 9lbs bass that put up a really good fight. I highly recommend this rod to anyone who is pretty serious about fishing. I absolutely love this rod!

bought this a month ago for some finesse summer bass fishing, I ran some 10lb braid and was running great even caught my PB on it. But ended up getting a snag in a bush and instead of cutting my losses I tried to brute force it which resulted in the tip breaking off. Technically it breaking was my fault but I can see that the construction isnt too hardy which is expected for a$ 25 combo. Overall though I cant say I was burned given how cheap it was and I was able to do some great fishing with it but if you want a combo thatll last invest in something else, if you dont care much about that and just wan na have something that runs good then this will get that job done
