I 'm so glad that I thought this because I did not know how to use a baitcaster but I saw that they looked so fun to use in that it's better than spinning reel at least that's what I heard online. When I actually tried it I did n't know how to use it but it was little difficult at first but I feel like this was the first beginning one to use. My best friend had one that he just bought did n't know how to use one at the time and I fully backlashed it so using this helped me to actually how to use it and it would n't backlash on me. After like two times at the pond I did it backlash in I be casting really far with this and I 'm very glad that I bought this. This is great quality for the great price it is and is very easy to fit in cars because it's two piece which means it can snap in half. So if you want to baitcaster I recommend this one if you 're a beginner.

It's sensitive, so I 'd make sure you work the brake up slowly if you 're new to baitcasters. But once it's dialed it, man, it is awesome. Good length and good accuracy. I got this combo three weeks ago and loved it from day one. Bait casters can be tricky and each can have a learning curve all its own. That said, the rod has great action and the real is very smooth and accurate.... then I hooked a personal best large mouth at 9lbs witch should be within its spec but the rod snapped 23 ” from the tip. I wasn ’ t over extended or pushing the limits. The line held and I painfully hand lined it in. If I had to do it again, I wouldn ’ t change a thing! I WILL perches this combo again.

I ’ ve been fishing over 30 years now and throwing a bait caster since I was a teenager and I ’ ll tell you this thing is killer all jokes aside. The rod on the American hero surpasses the rod on The mach II I have both of these combos, but Ive had to glue the rods tip eye back on twice now with the Mach II it Pulled itself out of the tip of the rod, just by setting the hook on a Small bass, Didn ’ t notice until it felt different when I would cast and the Mach II costs a 100$ ’s more… The two rods are designed completely different in the way the tip is attached The American hero rod being far superior in quality. I wish Lews would Address this matter, it is cheaply done on the Mach II and a bummer. But anyway, if you are on the fence about purchasing the American hero combo jump on off and do it you ’ ll be stoked, my friend Fish on and keep your line tight

I 've owned quite a few Zeb co reels over the last 40 years and they are an affordable and consistent performer. I rarely lose a fish because of the reel. They 're easy to use and fun. And this is the best I 've ever used. It's nearly silent. The drag action is smooth as silk and the retrieve is just as good. Gone is the loud ratcheting sound when a fish puts on a fight. If you like that, then grab the Authentic 33. It will sound like you expect, but this is silent and buttery smooth. Zeb co makes much more expensive reels, loaded up with quality bearings. But unless you 're making a living on a boat, this should be plenty. I go fishing every weekend with my sons and I 've caught dozens of fish on this. Mostly pan fish, crappie and bass but I 've reeled in a few nice carp and catfish as well. The reel did well.

I love this rod for a rod under a 100 bucks in the 70 dollar range. Its got great action been throwing med size crankbait. Great square bill rod good action have n't cought any monsters but lot's of 1 to 2 and half pound bass. Very acrute when throwing. I got some higher end set ups. But got this pared with a abu garcia black max reel with 10 pound florocarbon line. I got a 150 in reel rod and line and I pick it up as much as my 350 to 450 dollar set ups and will hang with them.
