I ’ ve gone through a lot of water bottles over the years, and most of them eventually annoyed me for one reason or another — leaking lids, poor insulation, awkward straws, or just being inconvenient to carry around. After using the Owala FreeSip 32 oz consistently for a while now, I can honestly say it ’s the best water bottle I ’ ve owned, and it fully deserves a 5- star review. The biggest reason I love it is the FreeSip lid design. At first, I thought it sounded kind of gimmicky, but it actually makes a huge difference. You can sip through the built- in straw while holding the bottle upright, or tilt it back and drink from the wider opening when you want to take bigger gulps. I didn ’ t realize how useful having both options would be until I started using it daily. It ’s especially convenient during workouts, driving, or working at my desk. The insulation is also impressive. I fill it with ice water in the morning, and there are usually still ice cubes left by the end of the day. I ’ ve even accidentally left it in my car for a few hours and the water stayed cold much longer than I expected. Unlike cheaper bottles, there ’s no weird metallic or plastic taste either. The stainless steel construction feels high quality and durable without being overly heavy. One of my favorite features is the locking lid. I ’ ve had too many bottles leak in backpacks or gym bags, so this was a huge improvement. The push- button lid snaps shut securely, and I ’ ve never had it leak even when it was laying sideways in a bag. The carry loop also makes it really easy to grab and take anywhere. The 32 oz size feels like the perfect balance. It holds enough water that I ’ m not constantly refilling it, but it ’s still comfortable to carry around throughout the day. Some larger bottles become bulky and annoying, but this one feels practical for everyday use. I also really like the powder- coated finish because it gives the bottle a good grip and keeps it from getting slippery. Another thing that surprised me was how easy it is to clean. Straw lids can sometimes get gross quickly, but this one is designed well enough that cleaning doesn ’ t feel like a chore. After months of regular use, mine still looks and works almost like new. If I had to mention one downside, it would probably be that the bottle can feel a little heavy when completely full, and it doesn ’ t fit perfectly in every car cup holder. But honestly, those are minor issues compared to how well everything else works. Overall, the Owala FreeSip 32 oz completely lived up to the hype for me. It keeps water cold for hours, never leaks, feels durable, and has one of the smartest lid designs I ’ ve used on a water bottle. It ’s one of those products that actually improves your daily routine, and I ’ ve found myself drinking more water simply because it ’s so convenient to use. I went on a few multiday trips with this bottle in stow, and I have yet to find a bottle more packable. A few inches is all you need as far as space goes. Basically, it take about as much space as a tennis ball and it's very lightweight. I was worried that it might be a little tough to clean, but that's not the case. I have narrow bottle brushes to scrub if need be, but honestly fill it with soap and water when you get home, shake it out, and hang it upside down.

[ I have tried just about every ultralight water filtration system on the market and been repeatedly impressed by the BeFree's flow rate. The BeFree AC seems even faster than the original model, filling up my one- liter water bottle within seconds. After receiving this system in the mail, I tested it on multiple dayhikes and trail runs. It held up well, and the collapsible bottle made it exceedingly easy to pack. I usually stuffed it into the mesh front pocket of my backpack so I would have easy access to it when I came across a stream. I filtered probably a few dozen liters and saw no decline in the flow rate. The bottle's large mouth opening makes filling up a breeze. Throw on the filter cartridge and cap and you can drink straight from the bottle or filter water into another container. Simply put, this filtration system is very quick and easy to use. Because I saw no decline in flow rate, I had no reason to clean the filter cartridge in the field, but I know that this is also easy. All you have to do is fill the bottle with clean water, put on the filter cartridge and cap, and shake. I know from using the original BeFree that this method works to restore the flow when gunk from water sources clogs up the filter on long backpacking trips. This method is much easier than filters that require backflushing. The BeFree AC is also slightly sleeker than the original version, which makes it easier to keep the filter in your pocket during the winter so it does n't freeze. I have several long backpacking trips and mountain climbs scheduled this year, and I will be taking the BeFree AC as my primary water filtration system. Katadyn Group gave me this free product to try.

[ I have always been skeptical of soft or flexy bottles because they don ’ t seem very durable, but this bottle exceeded my expectations! I accidentally stepped on it and it was totally fine. The flexible bottle made it super packable, as it is about the size of my fist when empty. There is also a loop when you can attach a carabiner to it, which is nice because it makes it easily accessible being that the soft bottle might be hard to get into a side pocket on a pack when the pack is full. It was also very easy to use because there aren ’ t many components. One you put it together you just have to run a liter of water through it to prep the bottle, and then you ’ re good to go. When filtering out the first liter it looks like the flow rate is super slow, but it ’s perfect when you ’ re actually drinking from the bottle. I used this bottle while hiking and camping at Table Rock State Park. The creek water had some silt in it as the area had just experienced some wildfires, but the water filtered through clear and tasted great. Finally cleaning the little was super simple too. You either shake the bottle or swish the filter in clean water, and you ’ re set. A deep clean consists of running a bleach/water solution through the filter. Overall I am super happy with this product and will definitely be taking it on all of my hiking/backpacking trips! Katadyn Group gave me this free product to try.

This simple water bottle is excellent for daily use. Note that it is NOT insulated and works best if you don ’ t plan on trying to keep your drink cold for long periods. It will “ sweat ” depending on the liquid temperature. I use it if I need to have some water for a quick trip of errands, but also works well when I need to mix some simple, powdered supplements. The wide opening and cap are rubberized and easy to grip, remove, and replace. The only thing I think would make this bottle better is if the cap was an attached flip cap rather than the tether, which is a little awkward, so I removed it. The transparent blue is great for giving it some style and visibility to see how much liquid you have. This bottle is consistent with Yeti's quality and durability.
